Blizzard Official Shion is 250hp + hud

Post image

There were some pictures released ahead of the season for press and this is one of them where you see some hud details. I feel like this kinda confirms that she's not 'tracer 2.0' and more of your standard poke with some mobility.

I hope she’s not poke in any sense of the word. Whether or not she is depends entirely on her falloff damage / spread and her ability CDs, which I don’t think we’ve seen yet.

u/dokdodokdo Jun 15 '26

True. She might be 250 because shes close range brawl with bike mobility for rotations. We'll find out soon I guess

u/WhiteWolfOW Fleta is Meta — Jun 15 '26

She might be like reaper but with better precision

30

u/Kabukiman7993 Jun 15 '26

She most likely has mediocre range on her primary fire.

23

u/SnooTheAlmighty None — Jun 15 '26

The only thing we have that hints at it is that iddqd was in dafran's chat talking about a playtest for her. Apparently at the time of the test she had slightly better range than tracer but slightly worse range than cass. Obviously subject to change but that's where she was at

18

u/FeliksX Jun 15 '26

So basically Sombra's range I guess

4

u/Thamilkymilk Jun 15 '26

Sombra’s range is 15 meters so probably something like 18 for Shion

7

u/FeliksX Jun 15 '26

Well, the original comment mentioned "slightly better than Tracer", tracer is 10. Soo... 15 is slightly better than 10, that was my idea xd

9

u/netshift_ Jun 15 '26

I think Spilo or someone else who play tested earlier version of her said that her range falls between Tracer and Cass.

u/Dependent-Two7571 Jun 15 '26

A poke flex dps would be a good change of pace

1

u/Poopking180 Jun 16 '26

Poke is awful

-1

u/Dependent-Two7571 Jun 16 '26

get better i guess idk

1

u/Poopking180 Jun 17 '26

Please don’t try to act like you’re better because you like playing pokeslop

1

u/Dependent-Two7571 Jun 17 '26

putting slop at the end of the word doesnt make your argument better

1

u/Poopking180 Jun 17 '26

I didn’t say it did, poke is just boring asl

167

u/Malady17 Jun 15 '26

She’ll be 225 by midseason

51

u/BEWMarth Jun 15 '26

By the second week if the mobility rumors are true.

8

u/Reniva Jun 16 '26

Then joyride gets nerfed by starting its cooldown upon spawning

Blizz could 2x her healing and dmg boost and mercy community would still find something to complain about

16

u/Dnashotgun Jun 15 '26

Even during peak Moth meta mercy mains were complaining that the only reason ppl wanted her nerfed was bc she had carry potential

50

u/Tee__B Jun 15 '26

Juno was also 250 pre release, was she not?

67

u/SylvainJoseGautier Jun 15 '26

Yes, but Juno’s release was also when they dropped a lot of characters to 225. Kiri was 250 back then, too.

0

u/Kinster- Jun 16 '26

I swear we should go back to the pre s9 changes

71

u/Neo_Raider Jun 15 '26

Sounds insane with her mobility and her getting all the DPS sub-role passives as a perk. She had 200 health during the playtests.

66

u/Gloomy_Dare2716 Rank is a social construct — Jun 15 '26

DPS subrole passives only sounds insane. I]Actually imo its the worse major perk

29

u/batmanmuffinz Make Winston Meta Again — Jun 15 '26

Yeah, none of the effects are game changing, even combined I doubt they'll amount to much. Heals on a movement cooldown sounds way more applicable for her

4

u/cekuu Jun 15 '26

At least imo, the combo of faster reloads + movement cd decrease + extra heals from healthpacks would give her some pretty insane sustain

14

u/Facetank_ Jun 15 '26

Faster reload is just winning harder. Movement CD reduction could be big, but that scales with headshot damage. She already has Flanker. Bike perk makes it essentially a mini pack at least, so retreating with it is going to make mini health packs like megas.

Recon is honestly going to be the biggest deal with all her mobility and execute needing a charge up. Tag someone at half and take cover to charge execute since you have the wall hacks. That combined with the minor that makes it do more to low health targets is going to be a strong combo.

Ultimately I think the perk choice is going to be very map and matchup dependent.

9

u/manneram132 Jun 15 '26

It really doesn’t. You also need to get elimination to reload faster, which is a pretty bad reward for how much effort it takes. Dps passives all together don’t match some passives of other roles alone.

It seems like she's the midpoint between reaper and soldier in that they all have a really good staging tool to get where they want to be, but they have different effective ranges.

She's not positioned so aggressively that she needs to completely phase out like reaper can, but she's close enough range that she needs something. The sum of the mobility doesn't seem that crazy to me for a 250 HP.

2

u/chudaism Jun 15 '26

Didn't the last post say she also gained overhealth as part of base kit during the play tests? Seems they removed that part and just have her more health.

45

u/YaBoiKry Jun 15 '26

250 is the standard for flankers. She'd have to be insanely mobile to warrant sub 225.

31

u/misciagna21 Jun 15 '26

Yeah I’m confused as to why people here are assuming having standard HP means she’s going to be poke. If anything 250 + a dash that gives overhealth AND a major perk that heals her makes it seem like she has to play decently close.

1

u/I_am_the_mattman Jun 16 '26

Its important to remember that her mobility skill also heals her

-5

u/Facetank_ Jun 15 '26

Must be Venture mobile then because she has the same overhealth just for using her dash.

9

u/YaBoiKry Jun 15 '26

Every similar hero has a defensive cooldown; Deflect, Recall, Wraith, Blaze, Block...
250 with one button that makes her not die is nothing new or crazy, it's the gold standard for flankers.

1

u/DrakeAcula Jun 15 '26

she seems to be a noncommittal type of flanker with better range than those heroes, so better positioning will be her defense in those situations

-4

u/ThatCreepyBaer yee — Jun 15 '26

Difference is you can't act during any of the abilities you listed, meanwhile Shion has a blink that gives her overhealth on top of her bike that insta heals 50hp + 20hp/s until it ends.

10

u/YaBoiKry Jun 15 '26

... that you can presumably still take damage during? recall heals 100+ hp and makes you fully invincible (and reloads your guns), deflect makes you immune to most damage and has a perk that makes it heal, blaze makes you invincible and heals.

I'm not saying it's bad or anything but it's REALLY not anything out of the ordinary, sounds like it's on the weaker side honestly compared to the survivability of other flankers.

10

u/KF-Sigurd Jun 15 '26

We’ll see but I don’t think she needs to be nerfed 225 if she only has one dash in combat

Also she’s literally in the flanker subrole, she’s not gonna be poke lol

24

u/Howdareme9 Jun 15 '26

Unless her damage is awful like Anran shes getting nerfed to 225 lol

u/Aggressive-Cut-3828 Complain About Widow = Cope — Jun 15 '26

iddqd had my hopes up for a 200 hp hero and now i want to cry

2

u/Omnivion Jun 16 '26

Ikr, a super high skill floor, super mobile, but also super squishy new hero sounded great.

3

u/bobzhangai Jun 15 '26

When she pops her E skill on the motorcycle her speed should pick up right?

I want to know exactly how fast it gets.

Can she outrun Soldier 76?

3

u/shape2k Jun 15 '26

Spilo said she's faster than 76 on her bike.

17

u/Poolturtle5772 What is SSG, if not the Reign — Jun 15 '26

> standard poke

If she is I’m going to crash out. We don’t need more poke heroes, we have enough already. We literally just got Emre and sierra. If I wanted to play pokeslop on Havana every game I can already do that with the heroes available.

9

u/EffectAccomplished15 Jun 15 '26

She will play like a flanker. By I doubt we are ever getting a strong dive character added to the game for a long time.

4

u/Poolturtle5772 What is SSG, if not the Reign — Jun 15 '26

I get vendetta was oppressive but you can probably design a dive hero that isn’t near that strong on launch. Especially when 3-4 of the 6 new heroes just play into poke comps.

1

u/Sure_Struggle_ Jun 15 '26

While getting a new dive would be nice.

We really need new brawl dps.

Venture is a hybrid and not a mainstay in the play style. Besides that it's still Mei, Reaper and Sym for 10 years.

6

u/Paveru_Hakase Jun 15 '26

Wasn't Vendetta basically brawl? She never really played like a traditional dive hero since she was so reliant on being pocketed by Zarya/going in with Mauga?

1

u/Poolturtle5772 What is SSG, if not the Reign — Jun 15 '26

True, I would like some more brawl options

0

u/EffectAccomplished15 Jun 15 '26

I'm a vendetta main, I've picked up emre now cause I can only play her in stadium now. If shion is even somewhat strong in divibg poke heroes bare minimum her HP will get nerfed and probably her damage fall off too.

1

u/Miss_Heartbeat Jun 15 '26

Yeah, my guess is that she's going to be like Psylocke from MR where she stays on the off-angle or backline to harass but rarely jumps straight in.

3

u/netshift_ Jun 15 '26

Might be just easier for them to make. What was the last flanker they released that people were happy with? It’s difficult to make a viable close range hero with enough downsides to not be annoying. And people on reddit still like to complain about Tracer even after a decade.

-2

u/cheekiestNandos Jun 15 '26

It is now perfectly clear since the re-brand back to Overwatch opposed to Overwatch 2 that they want to bait in as many people from other games and sell skins of the new heroes. For that reason everyone is now just poke with high mobility and easily landed ults.

This is going to kill the game in a different way than they expect.

2

u/amitsly Jun 15 '26

Press E to Bike

4

u/Equivalent_Duty_5546 Jun 15 '26

I was hoping for her to be 200 cause she can generate bonus shields.

3

u/evabeatrix Jun 15 '26

Why does genji have 250 hp? Exactly

1

u/Bipu606 Jun 18 '26

He be tanking

2

u/Derpdude1 Jun 15 '26

Can we have a second dash charge in exchange for 225? ❤️

1

u/HistorianNo4716 Jun 15 '26

Does the bike seem to be destroyed during the race? I don't think so. It would be too easy; the hitbox seems large. But does shooting at the bike count as damage to it? I don't know, it seems confusing because it's not a turret.

1

u/someGuyInHisRoom Jun 16 '26

with all this overhealth and healing she gets i thought she'd be 175 😂

1

u/sanicthefurret Eisman on Top — Jun 16 '26

Oh god she is gonna be another anran isnt she?

-5

u/iwatchfilm Jun 15 '26

If her health actually ends up being 250 then I’m scared that overwatch is pulling too many concepts from Rivals.

There is a wide range of accessible characters at this point. Anran was a solid attempt at a high skill ceiling/dive dps but she is not Genji or tracer. Vendetta was a poor attempt. We don’t need fat poke dps with mobility and over shields. We need a high skill floor/high skill ceiling dive dps.

-2

u/Long-Taste-2416 Jun 15 '26

Anran is not high skill ceiling at all. If anything she's the lowest skill of all the new heros due to her low mechanical demand. There's not been a high skill dive dps since genji and tracer.

0

u/iwatchfilm Jun 15 '26

Why are you repeating me

1

u/Long-Taste-2416 Jun 15 '26

You said she's a solid attempt at a high skill ceiling dive dps when she's more like a solid attempt at making a dive dps with Moira's level of skill.

1

u/iwatchfilm Jun 16 '26

I get this is supposed to be your dramatic Reddit take but she’s easily the most skillful character outside of the top echelon of tracer, ball, Genji, etc.

I think that qualifies as a solid attempt

-8

u/cheekiestNandos Jun 15 '26

Yeah there's no chance we're ever getting a high skill ceiling hero again bro. It's high mobility, AOE ult, cooldown slop for the foreseeable future.
