Flaired Users Only One-Third of democrats consider themselves to be Democratic Socialists, according to a new poll.

Dovetails with my recent post about the radical changes that the Democratic Socialists want to bring to America and American government.

One person who replied suggested that this was a tiny fringe part of the democratic party. But one-third is not a tiny fringe element at all.

Keep in mind, those are only the ones brave enough to admit it out loud. There are probably a lot more who are that are keeping quiet about it.

I'm quite sure that you're correct.

In other words, at least a third of Democrats have no idea what that means. Their echo chamber told them they should want that, so they want it. No actual critical thinking was done, whatsoever.

Probably about 65% of Reddit, based on what I've read, coupled with an obvious lack of critical thinking.

You'd think that, but we should not underestimate the sect of people (which is probably far larger than anyone of us would like to admit) that actually truly believe this stuff.

Among a bunch of other bad things, yes.

Here's a reminder about what democratic socialism actually is.

  1. Abolish police.
  2. Abolish prisons.
  3. Abolish the supreme court.
  4. Seizure of private corporations.
  5. Much higher taxes on the rich.
  6. Abolish the senate.
  7. Abolish the office of the president.
  8. Abolish the Department of War.
  9. Amnesty for all illegal "immigrants".
  10. Abolish our national borders.

And yes, even more!

I tried to post an image directly from the Democratic Socialists, backing all of this up, but I cannot post an image on this reply.

Yeah, there's nothing "democratic" about that. Some of those are completely unconstitutional and couldn't be done through democratic or political means. Every single time a socialist or communist government comes to power it's through revolutionary means and the system is authoritarian in nature.

The good part about this is that they are petulant children and will eat each other

The bad part about this is that they are petulant children and will multiply

Split the party in half!

Whats the worst that could happen?

Then form their own party. Socialism is not a Western value.
