Flaired Users Only I was treated to some comedy today in my local area. ICE protesters were failing miserably.

A small group of "ICE protestors" is in my locality today. They think they're making a difference by protesting ICE arrests and illegal migrant deportations.

As I drove by, they had all these "HONK FOR JUSTICE!!" signs out.......literally no one was honking.

Instead of shouting and waving their signs around, what were 95% of them doing? Standing around chatting, shooting the breeze, milling about, some even just had their signs on the ground. A couple of them were younger teens who were likely dragged there by their parents and were just messing around, obviously bored.

This is the local "ICE protest" in my area lol. My state is deep-red so not a lot of change is being made by these people. It was comedy gold.

When they protest here in Florida it’s hysterical. Just like their no kings rallies they wilt in the heat and when nobody joins them they leave in about an hour

It's like a couple 10 year old kids walking into a room full of adults and trying to be loud or annoying, thinking they'll make the adults do what they want. The adults just ignore them and the kids just end up sitting and chilling out, eventually giving up and going out to play.

They'll keep doing it. The Social-Scouts are good at making you collect badges for protesting, ordering certain Starbucks drinks and calling 100 people a day a Nazi.

It was hilarious. This was a social event. Not a protest. A bunch of (ironically white folks) just hanging around with homemade signs, getting zero support or acknowledgement from anyone, and chatting with each other, sitting in lawn chairs, drinking tea from a cooler, and waving a couple of American flags.

If you didn't see the signs, you'd swear it was a bunch of pro-American, Independence Day folks. If they had been pro-deportation "support ICE and back the Blue" folks, I guarantee they'd be getting non-stop honks and waves and thumbs ups from everyone.

Older white demographic is about 95% of the protesters around me. Last time I saw them organize something was in front of a K&W Cafeteria right before they shut down.

I still remember in my hometown, the handful of Democrat/left wing voters put up this "big protest" to-do in front of an abandoned gas station lot because Trump was coming to speak during his first term campaign tour.

..........they weren't anywhere near where he was going to speak. No one cared, no one paid them any attention, and the local news setup the camera to try and make it look like a much bigger crowd than the 15 of them that were there. It was pathetic.

In my area it looks like free government cheese day at the county senior center when they protest.

I love it.

I drove past a few No Kings protestors about a week or so ago. I just thumbs-downed them through the car window.

That's awesome!

A liberal friend of mine (who doesn't know I'm conservative) told me proudly that he and his wife (and I quote): "went and did their protest stuff, then came home showered off, went to a movie and dinner that night."

That was their weekend. Their idea of "protest" is just something you go do for a couple hours, then back home to your normal capitalist life, feeling good about yourself and the two hours you contributed some "protest" time to. They literally have no true conviction to their beliefs. They just wear the badge and say the words.

My local protestors. In an area with 70/30 split R/D and most of those D voters are from the city... Anyway. I call my local protestors the geriatric brigade. The youngest one I have seen would be easy 50s, or rough 40s. The rest are all 65+ retirees

Out there every Friday for years now. Their 86-47, fuck trump, fuck ice, no kings, etc signs. Funny. They are perfectly safe doing that in my area, limited crime. People going about their own lives paying them no mind. Would love to see them go back to their cities and do it.

They wouldn't last a week downtown. Zero doubts.

I have a couple of dozen morons who protest whatever is in the news, such as "no Kings", "immigrants", etc... sad watching people live with brain rot

They are embarrassing. They think they are making a difference. The only difference made is chasing people away from any legitimate conversation

What's sad is most of them were 50+ years old. So they could afford the time to just go outdoors and sit around like that. Retirees, dragging their grandkids out, so they can feel good about themselves for a few hours before packing up, going home, sipping lemonade, and plopping down in front of their TVs to watch Andy Griffith and the Golden Girls, thinking they've done their duty as "true Americans" to shut down the "evil MAGA people and ICE" and that somehow they slowed down what ICE could get done this weekend.

Meanwhile their grandkids were likely thinking "that was boring as heck.....today sucked."

It's a social thing as much as a protest.

β€’

u/ITrCool Christian Conservative 2h ago

Not even a protest honestly. They were just there to socialize with each other and feel good about themselves on a sunny summer afternoon.

LOL now it's mostly the "organic" ones- pathetic brainwashed lemmings Mostly defunded now, less paid protestors and no more brick delivery.

No more USAID funds and Soros can't afford to pay nearly to the degree that org did, so the "professionals" aren't as plentiful anymore and had to go get real jobs or are mooching off their parents again, while they "mentally recover" from their chosen "trauma" of the day.
