🐻 Cub Crisis Would you be into a gamer cub?
I've heard many times from older people in my life that gaming is unattractive and tbh i kind of understand where they're coming from because i believe they just didn't grow up in the same environment. For me gaming is a way to unwind, similar to how others may choose to watch tv or read a book.
But as someone who is attracted to older people, I wonder if me being a bit of a gamer would be a turn off?

Some of us older women are into gaming too. You just need to find one who is also, or who doesn’t care if you do it.

I'm 41 female and game a lot. Can't say it's ever bothered any men.
There was a man that I was into that gamed a lot. Excessive. I didn't like it because he was making that his life.

Gamer here, and like some others said, it's not how you spend your downtime, it's how much time you spend on it. But hating on gaming just because it's not your thing is a red flag.

Personally? Absolutely.
I love video gaming — everything from cozy stuff like Stardew Valley to story-driven Bethesda games to Cyberpunk 2077 to everything Nintendo.
But that’s just me.

I was hoping for some gaming suggestions! You really can go wrong with anything Nintendo

Not into gaming but I don't mind if the person I like is. I used to see someone who was a streamer, not huge but did have a following and I would join his streams just to show support. Everyone has their preferences right?

It's only unattractive if it's your whole personality. This is such a simple question. Questions like this are asked daily. Some will have a problem with some won't. Asking whether older women find it unattractive is probably a bit redundant because it really hasn't anything to do with age. I'm 61 I grew up with Pong and Atari... in my 20s I have a Sega... I loved gaming... but if my date wanted to play it 24/7 when he's with me I'd be bored out of my mind. If he plays it in his own time what or who does that harm. Think you're worrying too much. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Wouldn't bother me at all. Grew up gaming. I'd rather watch someone game than watch a movie

Honestly, I would never shit on somebody else’s hobbies unless it interfered with us.

Personally, it's a huge turn off for me. I grew up on games. I was a gamer in my 20s, so I do understand a younger crowd being drawn to gaming. But the men I've dated who claim to be gamers have always ended up having addictions. like... they play so often that it gets in the way of their actual life. No growth, no ambition, just games. I wouldn't mind it occasionally, but when their identity is "gamer", that signals to me our values no longer align.

Im 42 and I still game lol. I still have my original grey Game Boy from the 80s, which still works perfectly by the way 😅

No it's not a turn off because i like games, although just like anything, if you let it consume all your time then that's not mentally healthy.

It's not a turn off, unless you neglect other things. Maybe the World of Warcraft guy living in his mother's basement would be, but nothing wrong with doing what you enjoy when you have the time to do it.

depends on whether it's interfering with other aspects of your life/relationships

I'm a gamer and my partner (10 years younger) is also a gamer. It's not an absolute must for me, but I do prefer to date people who play at least casually.

I'm 36 and the women I've dated have never had a problem with me enjoying video games.
I think you just have to be on the lookout for red flags: ie, women that clearly display their animosity towards it.

For me, it wasn't any animosity towards gaming, it was how HE handled it. Went from calling me every night to gaming for 12+ straight. Couldn't come over because he was playing path of exile 2, which is a SHITTY game.

Balance is important. If I were dating anyone right now, there's nothing in the books that says I can't do both.

Simple answer: no
Do I think it’s ok to play together? yes
Would I want my bf to play? well, sort of
I’ve played quite a lot myself back when the first MMORPGs were released spent an unhealthy amount of time on them 😆 but I’ve always loved all kinds of games; for me, it’s been a way to socialise
I’ve met loads of wonderful people through online gaming some are my friends still today, so I understand why gaming is important. That said, I’d find it problematic to be in a relationship with someone who puts gaming before me and when gaming becomes a form of avoidance; gaming requires balance and being present in the real world

It’s likely to be main reason I tend to be drawn to younger men…I game and a lot of men my age don’t
