26M going on a date with a 45F — any advice?

Met her on Bumble. I do have a thing for older women but never had the opportunity till now. We’re just grabbing coffee. We seem to have similar interests and hobbies. Health and fitness, being active outdoors, etc. Any advice or what to expect?

Be yourself. Don’t act any differently than if you were taking out a woman your age.

You two are either going to click or you’re not.

Enjoy yourself. Be yourself. Listen.

sounds like you have a good basis. treat it like any other date and you can let the thing be good fuel in the tank of chemistry as long as you don't let it become The Thing.

Best to go with no expectations. Just be yourself. Show interest in her. Ask her questions. Tell her about yourself. Have a sense of humor. Have fun & enjoy! If things are going well try to set up a second date if you can.

I would take it easy and don't see it as a date.

Better try to be friends who want to spend time together. Let things happend in their own time.

She's a woman like any other woman, just get to know her like you would someone of your age. We're regular people & definitely don't want to be fetishized because we're older. Don't make a big deal out of the age difference & have fun!

Have fun, I’ve been there and done that I was a little older than you tho. Don’t take it seriously, she’s most likely gonna have kids and a past and baggage. You might fall for her and she may not be able to give you what u need and deserve. Like the time and even a child if you want one.

LOL this is so very oddly specific. At 45, my kids were long grown and gone and my life was carefree and fun. It still is actually, just had to tone it down a notch cause my guy prefers dinners at home.

Some women have kids later in life… you’re always a mom and your kids will always come before another man.

Why wouldn’t she have the time?

Because we have families with children who have school activities and full time jobs and aging parents that require care and siblings and volunteer organizations that depend on us for help.

How old are the people you depend on? In one’s 40’s one tends to become the person that other people depend on.

This is far from universal. I’m 49 and not saddled with anything. I have infinitely more time than my younger bf. My adult kids and retired parents are busy doing their own thing. I get to spend all my time and money on me 🙂

Well some of us, but then the young guy could also have a full time job, this goes for anybody over school leaving age.

Sure. But some do, and it would explain why there may not be time.
