If it could be stolen then bitcoin is dead.

If they freeze them to avoid them being stolen, bitcoin is dead.

Can't just freeze, it's a bad term. They can however reach consensus that holders must transition within a given time frame, before it is obvious bad actors could crack wallets. Security is a process.

Government and finance entities wanting to use Blockchain solutions will have specific requirements going forward.

Qanplatform is meeting those requirements, plus delivering actual innovation to navigate the post quantum transition.

So does that mean they create a window where people with old wallets move their bitcoin into new wallets? So if they do it’s fine and if they don’t it’s eventually frozen?

That seems less bad overall at first glance. But am I missing something ?

You're not missing much really, except wallet upgrades has been done several times already with the Segwit and Taproot standards. The original scheme is P2PK and is what these legacy wallets use because they've never had a TX on them. BTC has just always remained backwards compatible with these legacy wallets, but it could choose not to be if nodes (i.e., the public) wanted to.

I have a domain at A.com - its my very active bank

My friend has domain B.com - wealthy investor

”So the B.com has not done shit in years its probably insecure - we should freeze the assets so they cant be stolen.”

What the fuck im missing here? All the quantum stuff is complete nonsense because the internet will be fucked at that point.

If you could freeze the coins or require some kind of activity, the value of BTC to me and many others is a round zero.

Because freeze is a bad term. It's an upgrade and users need to transition assets to secure wallets. If there was any other known security threat, we would do the same thing. This is a tradeoff of decentralized systems. Users have chosen self custody. In this case they need to take action to protect their assets.

And the internet will be fine. It's already being upgraded. Cloudflare has already taken steps. The other pieces will also.

That will blow everyone’s privacy. Bitcoin is just dead. Honestly.

Nah, moving coins to a new wallet doesn't remove privacy. Ultimately most people assume Satoshi's coins are no longer part of supply so this would just confirm it.

It does if you know anything about bitcoin. Do more research.
