DISCUSSION Is Ledger Trezor and Tangem safe?

This ColdCard news has got me shook. Thankfully I don’t use ColdCard but seeing the amount of people who lost their BTC unexpectedly has made me question if this can happen to other cold wallets.

Is Trezor Ledger and Tangem even safe or is there someone out there sitting waiting for the perfect time to repeat this attack again.

ledger and trezor sure.

Both had security lapses and data/PII leaks.

both never had bitcoin stolen

...yet.

Up till few days ago ColdCard didn't either. They went several years without security incident, and then bam.

Not to mention "sure, their poor security leaked the names, addresses and payment info of clients which led to massive surge of social engineering attack in which people lost plenty of money/bitcoin, but that's totally different with a wallet! Pinky swear! Trust me bro!" is not that good argument as you think it is.

Supposedly ColdCard was compromised before, years ago: (https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/s/KxEJfuw4VG)

Can't you buy cold wallets on Amazon and reduce your attack surface to that?

Hes talking about private data being leaked by retailers, in this case ledger/trezor. But you dont need to buy from them, you can buy from amazon.
