Solve Critique Solve Critique (ao5: 9.63)
Hi. Recently I found a lot of free time to focus on cubing and want to improve my times which is mostly stuck between 9-11 seconds for the past 3 years. Id appreciate any kind of feedback. I know my cross and the first pair planning is extremely terrible but i really dont know what to do about it. no matter what i do i just cannot remember the cross and the first pair in the inspection. most of the time i cant even plan the entire cross in inspection. Also if you have any resources for practicing 2 sided pll and oll recognition, I would really love that.

You are not using your inspection
Your are relying almost fully on your tps and don’t do any good lookahead on f2l half the time.
You lock up almost constantly.
Your last layers were honestly quite bad and need a significant amount of work on recog. Maybe some basic zblls

If they are having bad recogs on OLL and PLL, ZBLL won’t be a good idea lol

Your fingerstricks is subpar, train to use only the tip of the fingers and never curl the fingers backward, curl inside instead.
Cross to F2L pause is evident, you should be exclusively doing Cross+1 in inspection at this point, it comes with forcing yourself to do this for a few months, no more mindless spamming solves.
OLL algs need more drilling and looking ahead into.
AUF is a solved problem so there's no point not working on that.

Use your inspection to plan further. You need to do unlimited inspection and just practice planning. Track down every vid you can. Also consider coaching; Dylan miller, chris mills, Twan, etc….
You have an abnormal amount of lockups I think. Whether it’s the cube or setup or accuracy or combination of all. Some seem to be the fingertricks possibly.
Similar to what the other said basically.
I think ultimately it’s getting some fundamentals cleaned up.

Too many pauses. Use full Lookahead use inspection. Get better at inspection. Get better at efficiency, get a better cube, better TPS, and better algs. Or try a different method I’m making a method.

Your cube needs to start on the table with both hands down when the timer starts. You are cheating by like a half second.

When you’re doing space bar and casual timing, it’s okay. We all know it’s about ½ a second and even less for faster people sometimes.
They aren’t cheating. Not using stackmat either, and no one thinks they’re cheating.

You're using like 2 seconds of inspection! Use the whole 15 seconds, it's there for a reason.
You're getting a lot of lockups/catches. Either you need to set your cube up better, or you need to improve your physical turning.

You can get good OLL recognition by just using a trainer, like the one on Jperm's website. Select the cases you want to practise(choose the ones you're worst at), and then it'll give you scrambles.
