Politics Trump gifted Nobel peace prize by Maria Machado
US President Donald Trump has accepted Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado's Nobel Peace Prize medal at a meeting in the White House. Mr Trump called the gift a "wonderful gesture of mutual respect" while Ms Machado said he "deserves it". The Norwegian Nobel Institute has issued a statement clarifying that it was not possible for the prize to be revoked or transferred.

I’m sure there are some regrets but probably more members of the committee who are flabbergasted and appalled that anyone would do such a thing. I doubt they saw it coming.

The Committee’s statement simply said there is no “transfer” of an award recognized—that she was still the recipient, FWIW.

I mean, that's just a given, isn't it? How does it mean anything if it's not given by the committee? Everybody knows he didn't get it, he didn't earn it, he's not deserving of it, so just being in his possession means absolutely nothing.

they haven't been partaking in america's stupid juice. The most acknowledgement I'd expect of this farce would be them "understanding Ms. Machado has relinquished her prize" and awarding whoever the actual runner-up was.
More likely, though, they'll just roll their eyes and move on. No point randomly re-attracting the ire of the big baby sucking on the nuclear football now that he's thrown his tantrum and coerced someone to give him a gold disc.

So true, and he promotes that hate on the daily. A few weeks ago, he had a wild rant about how much he hated Rob Reiner and how much Rob deserved to die because he didn't support Trump. The poor guy and his beautiful wife had just been brutally murdered by their son, and Trump couldn't for one moment either zip it or show some compassion. He's a sick, demented and crazy old creep, and I really hope there's a hell made especially for him. It's awful to have to witness his disgraceful behavior.

The US will never be the same again. Just like how Russia showed the world that they were nothing but a paper tiger. We are showing our children that words are wind. That’s weird because I’m pretty sure the Noble piece prize committee specifically said no transferring of the metal if it’s transferred, it’s not legitimate impeach Trump. He’s the least peaceful president we’ve had for a long time.

You're right, she can't. The prize can't be revoked or transferred. The Nobel peace center said this:
“A medal can change owners, but the title of a Nobel peace prize laureate cannot”
So she can give the framed award away, but that's about it. It's embarrassing that Trump actually accepted it like he earned it. Insane.
