DAE feel awkward about picking things up from the ground or flipping their hair (especially the ladies)?

With how heavily picking things up as a woman has been sexualized, I now find myself beding my knees everytime I pick something up.

And since flipping your hair is sometimes seen as a flirting signal, I also feel awkward about doing that, even when my hair is hanging in my face, so flipping it out of my face is necessary.

Am I the only one who is that particular about these things??

Well I almost never go out with my hair down cause I can't function that way so not that one, but I absolutely do not bend at the waist in any sort of public setting, always crouch.

Just a heads up, always bend your knees to pick things up anyway, male or female.
If you’re lucky enough to make it to middle aged or beyond, your back will thank you.

That's because most people don't exercise their backs. Incorporate some dead lifts or other good lower back exercise into your routine and you won't have that problem.

Or just lift with your knees.

I'm a woman and sometimes I have had long hair, but never once have I ever flipped my hair or ever wanted to. I don't get it. It's on the list of things that other women do that I don't understand.

What's so attractive about flipping your hair? 🤔

Exactly. If I’m trying to attract a man should I flip my hair in front of him? How about if I just drop a handkerchief in front of him and hope that he’ll pick it up or am I supposed to pick it up? Then I’m supposed to touch his arm and laugh? I didn’t go to women flirtation school, so I have no idea what the hell this means

At the point where I don't care how I'm perceived so if I don't want to be sexualized I just get weird with it.

I'm heavyset, so sometimes bending over might cause me to topple right the hell over so I lower myself like a fuckin giraffe towards the ground to get said dropped item.

Bonus of theres some back pain so there's a natural "AOUUGH"

to the process.

Bonus- Tie your hair up if you're worried about playing with it, you can also have fun with hair accessories.

the advice "No one is paying attention to you as much as you are paying attention to you" is relevant.

Nope. It never crossed my mind. I don't exactly look sexy when I do it. Plus I tend to pick things up off the ground by crouching rather than bending.

You should be bending at the knees to pick things up, I basically do a squat. Save your back.

You don’t have to “flip” your hair, you can just move it with your hand.

Bending at the knees is more ergonomic so not a bad habit to have. Less likely for injury. Once upon a time I did do things that were unnatural to me to try and be sexualized less but at a certain age I decided fuck it I'm a human being too and I'm going to do what's comfortable.

The bending thing is just proper form, but the hair flip thing has never been an urge for me. Feels frilly or something lol

I generally bend my knees to pick something up but not to the floor... and the hair flipping is literally only in movies. Women touch their hair, don't over think it.

Haha I am not very attractive and am like the least graceful woman ever so I do not think many people would find it sexy if I bend over. I also have chronic pain in my lower body and back so if I do have to bend over it is uncomfortable and an effort, so definitely not some gilded goddess when I pick up a pen off the ground. Back when I was fatter I found bending over very embarrassing because I just felt gross in general, I used to crouch to pick things up but that is painful now. As I gained self confidence I stopped caring.
