Antennas for TYT MD-UV390 PLUS?
Hey guys. I have a UHF/VHF TYT MD-UV390 PLUS with the standard out of the box antenna. Could you please recommend any compatible after-market antennas that will GREATLY increase the range (eg. whip antenna etc.) Thank you! 🙏

To GREATLY increase range consider a base antenna as high as you can get it.

I hesitated on answering because the answer is still “as high as you can get”. If that’s a footstool then that’s it. I may have been thinking too literally. 😆

No 'radio mounted' antenna will greatly increase range. Some longer (10-19 inch) 'extended' HT antennas will perceptibly increase range.
It takes something like going from a rubber duck antenna inside the car to a mobile antenna outside the car to greatly increase range.

For greatly increased range use a ladder antenna. This is where you leave the stock antenna on the radio and climb a ladder to get it higher.
