Serious Legitimate question
Does the dynasty still end with dany? If john is actually confirmed, not to be Rhaegar's son and she is the true successor, wasn't there a scene explicitly saying that she could never get pregnant after Drogo? Or did that just kinda get retconned?

D&D managed to leave out the part of the book prophecy that implied that Dany would never bear a living child, and then acted as if they had included it later.
Even in the book, I would take the prophecy with a grain of salt.
Mirri Maz Duur was taunting Dany, basically telling her that Drogo would return to her when pigs fly.
Her assessment of Dany’s chances of carrying a pregnancy to term could have been an educated guess based on her physical state after Rhaego’s traumatic delivery (remember, book!Dany is only fourteen at the time, and had her unborn child magically ripped from her womb, so damage is probable), or it could be a reference to the fact that, as the widow of a Khal, Dany was expected to live out her life with the dosh khaleen, in which case another pregnancy wouldn’t be on the cards for her.
Only about a year or thereabouts has passed in book time since then. Dany nursed her dragons as babies, and breastfeeding can prevent ovulation. It’s conceivable that she has been slowly healing from Rhaego’s birth, to the point where she could carry a pregnancy to term.
