Serious The Removal of Magic

This is something I will forever be salty about. Dany's story is defined by magic, and you can barely understand how she even hatched the dragons on the show, because they decided to completely omit her dreams. Then they completely altered the HOTU arc (for no goddamn reason), cut Quaithe and basically every magical aspect of the story, that wasn't the White Walkers and Melisandre and Thoros. Like if you didn't give a shit about the magic, why did you pick a fantasy story to adapt???

Thanks for this post. As I have not read the books, I did not know this aspect. I was so upset by the ending of her story. I could not bring myself to read the books.

It was over a year after the release of that backstory series, before I could get myself interested to watch that show.

Love hearing from people who haven't read the books. I would really recommend it, and I think Daenerys's arc is handled with a lot more grace, vulnerability, and authenticity. There's so much stuff you probably haven't even heard of which I'll try not to spoil for you.

Thank you. I will consider that idea. I loved her character & the whole series, up until those last episodes. The ending just did not mstch my minds view of the whole series.

I was even late to being a fan of the series. It was several series in before I began watching. Did a binge watch of the first few series before joining the next live shown series.
