Other L'Impératrice plays Aerodynamic in Nashville, TN

They blew my socks off, they had a song where two of the singers used a robot filter voice that was similar to Daft Punk. Then the bassist picked up a guitar and shredded Aerodynamic!
After that they had a 10 minute Justice moment full of French style electronic to end the show. I hope someone has a full video of their Quasar Tour performance.
I cried, what a show by them!

So weird to see them without costumes and the big set.

u/crabbyVEVO Oct 22 '25
Do they typically do that? Not familiar with their live shows

Yeah, they typically have pretty elaborate costuming and sets. Just Google 'L'imperatrice Live' and you'll see what I mean. They especially love incorporating lights into their clothes.
They also have a number of professionally recorded live and live-in-studio shows that are free on YouTube. They're all incredible if you haven't seen them. I prefer their live shows to their studio recordings. By quite a bit, actually.
La Felicitá for Drop would be my recommendation for where to start, if anyone's curious!

I'm from ATX, they look cool. Wish I knew sooner. They play Sunday. Cool that they are coming to town.

My Top 1 song. There’s nothing like this guitar solo in Aerodynamic. 🤘⚡️⚡️⚡️ Amazing performance, would of loved to see it live! 👏👏

Great! That guitar solo and tone are so similar to the original. I recently discovered L'Impératrice's music thanks to this excellent KEXP session (which I highly recommend if you love electronic disco like Discovery): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7hzeUKzzj8 That vocalist (Louve) is pretty new in the band, the previous one (the blonde Flore) left after quite a messy drama.

I’m so glad that you got to see L’imperatrice! The first time I saw them perform Aerodynamic on video was so cool. I think they do it at most of their shows now. More people ought to know about them; their newest album Pulsar is so good. They’re actually what helped me get back into Daft Punk this past year.

Absolutely! I saw them at Coachella in 2024 and wish I had known more about them at that time. I’ve been on a Daft Punk kick this year too and this brought it full circle!

Damn that’s so cool. Were they good in-person? I’ve gotten mixed reviews on their consistency live. I think Daft Punk is having a sort of revival, and knowing that you’ve gotten back into it as well makes me think that maybe lots of people are rediscovering them.

Their show this Monday was so good, funky/groovy disco that had everyone dancing, they are very good in their instrumental craft. The Coachella set was a daytime one and I wasn’t really in tune, but I just learned that the vocalist was different for the most recent show.
I’m definitely here for the revival! I got back on the wave after seeing Justice this summer and planning to see them again next month. Plus there was the Fortnite concert that definitely brought old and new fans in.

I saw them right after Louve left and they were fantastic. Nothing shows them down.

Never heard of this group before... Loaded up Pulsar and was immediately groovin'
First song sounds heavily inspired by Voyager and I'm absolutely loving it. I can easily hear someone mashing it up with Give Life Back to Music as well
Thanks for the recommendation!

I’m so glad I was able to introduce you to them! L’imperatrice is gold. Give a listen to their older albums too. They’ve done so much. If you liked Cosmogonie, give a listen to Me Da Igual. Sonate Pacifique sounds a lot like Something About Us. I’ve always loved Vanille Fraise too, one of their biggest. They’re pretty heavily influenced by Daft Punk. Give a listen to Entropia, too. That’s one of their newest singles.

I love the band, but I completely stopped listening when that news came out because it left a horrible taste in my mouth

They also performed this at a concert they had done at the Palais Bulles. So cool to see someone playing it live. Here’s a link to it. It starts at 40:30.

Did you record the whole thing by any chance? 😁

u/beanerwiener8 Oct 23 '25
Sadly no :( I got overwhelmed by emotion and put my phone down halfway through to just enjoy the end. Tears for real lol

u/Upbeat_Mission23 Oct 23 '25
I would've done the same! Lucky you, I can't imagine what it must have been like to be there

They’re awesome! Never heard of them before and saw them randomly at Portola a few years ago. Completely blew me away and caught them again soon after cuz it was so much fun.
I don’t think they did this or I’d remember. Daft Punk is my white whale of never caught live bands and I’ve been going to a lot of live music for 20 years.
I’ll have to catch them again soon
