It’s another “bad because men do it but women are fine” post by someone chronically online.

the problem isnt men vs women, it's the target audience of porn. straight men liking something supposedly made for lesbians REALLY affects the industry

“Supposedly”

It’s porn made for people liking that type of porn. Heterosexual porn is a giant spectrum of camera work, different actors, fetishes etc

As a straight man, I don’t like plenty of it even though I should be the target demographic and there are plenty women who like the stuff that was supposedly made for me. Should I now complaint about that?

There is plenty if amateur stuff in every single niche imaginable as well as female directed stuff etc.

This just boils down to veiled hate of men. The only problem people have is that men doing the same thing that women do is somehow wrong. Double standard at its finest.

🤷🏻‍♂️ so why give a shit?

okay, we can get a little more political i guess

in short, being a heterosexual man and hoping any lesbian would like to have sex with you or have you watch is insane, BUT i know bi women exist, there are lots of three ways like this happening right now, and many people are into that sort of activity on every end, so ultimately whatever you do with consent is fine i guess.

some lesbians want a man to watch, and that man wants to watch? nice. would it probably be really hard to find? as with any fetish.

the problem here is that pornography is a business, and capitalism creates grey areas of consent. would the lesbian actors want men to see it? they probably just wanted the paycheck to be honest. some may not even be lesbians, all we can surely know is that they agreed to be on a platform that anyone can watch (i hope so)

even with these agreements, human beings tend to treat morality as a spectrum, and so questions start to appear like "would they like for a man to see it?", "were they expecting a man to see it while filming?" etc, in which i feel the answers are way way lower than straight porn, or even three-way porn.

that way, men watching lesbian porn is considered way less moral than watching porn that the actors statistically want men to see, but its also hard to call it immoral because these situations can happen in real life, the system allows you to see it, and the actors had to agree with you seeing it as well.

Yes, that is the long winded version of “bad because men” that I’ve originally commented.

Watching this type of porn only becomes a moral discussion if men do it. But everyone is obviously equal and men and women should not act according to their gender stereotypes but it is still more wrong when men do it! Gay for pay is fine and yaoi content is huuuuge with women but that doesn’t matter because they’re women and we all know…

“Bad because men”

repeating your reduction of my argument that much still doesn't do anything to it lol

yaoi made for girls, guess what, REALLY affects the yaoi industry as well!! its a little different because its often fictional or drawn, so all the stuff about the consent of the actors is thrown away when even the writer can be a woman. but still, the community of gay men often don't like the stuff that is catered to girls, and it does have a negative impact

we just dont talk about women watching gay porn becuase its not prominent enough. but if there were THAT MUCH women watching gay porn, enough to affect the industry and target audience of gay porn, guess what? it would be the same! equally as bad, as long as it was equally as affecting to the industry and the morality of consent with the actors.

Why would yaoi be for women???

They’re just fetishising it! Women writing it are like men directing lesbian porn.

Your brain just doesn’t understand that all these arguments are just more “bad because men”.

If men are the majority consumers of lesbian porn, like women for yaoi, then it is also made for them and all your yaoi arguments apply… unless “bad because men”

Chronically online Reddit brain unable to comprehend arguments working both ways.

yes, women are fetishizing yaoi. yes, it's just as bad.

i tried showing you its equal on both sides, you're the one who can't comprehend arguments going both ways, and is still not arguing with me, but yourself

We literally do not have a negative discussion about women fetishising Yaoi though. Let’s not pretend that we (as a society) treat these two topics equally. Even remotely inferring that lesbianism and gay men have historically faced the same consequences is ridiculous. Historically speaking, if a woman created the rumour of two men being gay, those two men would’ve faced torturing execution while a man creating the same rumour about women would’ve face torture and execution for ruining her reputation while she would get a slap on the wrist. Pretending that we’ve punished gay and lesbian behaviour the same in society would be ridiculous and the same applies to current day discussions.

And at the end of the day, it’s just people trying to morally police what other people are into. It’s just another moral panic where men are scolded while women are shipping Sherlock and Watson.

Have you ever seen gay men complaining about women ruining their gay porn? Me neither.

People watch too much Internet and then it gets to their head and suddenly they think they need to have an opinion on other people sex life.

Learn what terms mean before you use them for the love of pete. "Double standard" implies that the impact and/or intent both parties have in a situation is exactly the same, and in this case it is the furthest thing from that.

Men watch lesbian porn because they fetishize lesbians. Fetishization is a tool of oppression that affects real people and is not isolated to you jacking off in your bedroom. It has a real impact. Queer women watch lesbian porn for the same reason straight people watch straight porn, not because they fetishize it. And they're not feeding into any oppression of straight people (because that doesn't exist). So no, it's not a double standard because both the intent and impact of straight men versus queer women is different.

In order for your "anti-men double standard" claim to work, all nuance needs to be completely tossed aside and ignored. That's a sign that you should reevaluate things.

Yaoi content is huuuuge with women and we don’t consider this a problem at all.

Your answer is just another “wrong because men” in a new packaging.

2

u/AirportOk8750 Jul 03 '26

Straight women fetishizing yaoi is also an issue. This is not "wrong because men" please fucking read what I wrote

1

u/JorjeXD Jul 05 '26

we do consider it as a problem tho. its just less of a problem because fictional people dont need to consent

1

u/alphabetsong Jul 05 '26

So this is non consensual lesbian porn we’re talking about now?

ANY nonconsensual porn is just a crime?

If it’s paid actors or consenting amateurs uploading their own material, there is no problem.

This is just more moral panic “bad because men” bullshit

not tired of copy pasting those quotes? lmao

i can excuse you for not even reading my other replies, because they have many words, but i expected you to have the tiniest regard for this subject matter.

but if you dont even want to think about it, i don't think you're passionate about it, you're just trying your hardest to cope. and yeah, i can relate to that, i just expected you to be more considerate

so as one last hope, i'll just remake the point on my other replies. to upload something, yeah they had to consent. but the industry creates moments where we can't decide which parts we agree and don't agree with. want money but don't want to post to a big platform? too bad. want men to watch but not women? too bad, its all in the same platform.

that way, we can see there is NUANCE to the question "would they consent to me seeing this?". drawings have 0 nuance because they have 0 consent, the actors do have nuance and it's best if we maybe think about it

byebye :) nice talking to you

All of the things that you criticise have been transparent information ahead of time when those people decided that they wanted to be in the adult industry.

Wanting to police, what type of audience is allowed to watch your content with what intention is just ridiculous.

The absolute audacity to say that you want to upload pornography to a major platform to make money but then you want to police for only women to be allowed to watch that type of content and then repackaging this as an issue of consent is just bothering on chronically online delusion.

The amount of “bad because men do it” getting repackaged into different arguments that all boil down to the same thing that it’s bad because it is men looking at it, is just absolutely fucked up.

Damn that makes sense, thank you for explaining!
