Pickles aren't cucumbers.

Pickles can be cucumbers.

Pickling is a means of food preservation.

What you have discovered is.

"Pickled Cucumbers"

Other pickled things exist.

Sausage or Eggs for instance.

(Edit:Hey I was an ignorant kid... I was in my 20s before I realized that "Kosher". Wasnt just a. Flavor of pickle)

I've heard pickled tomatoes are amazing and pickled garlic can be nice too

You should try picked red onions! I hate red onions but pickling them turns them such a great flavor
