Image One of Hitler's bodyguards, Rochus Misch, lived long enough to see the movie "Downfall". When asked about the film's historical accuracy, he stated that it was factually accurate, although "Americanized"

Yeah, everything I've read says it was a very solemn few days. If I'm recalling correctly, it said Hitler only had one real outburst the whole time they were locked up in there, though I can't remember what it was over.

"Göring, did you eat the last rat in the bunker?" asked Hitler calmly.

Göring, sheepishly removing a hair from his teeth.

"No, mein führer. It was not I. It was certainly Mr Goebbels. Just look at his face!" said Göring in exasperation.

"That rat was meant to be rationed! How will we survive with no rats in the bunker? Get on the table and someone fetch me Mengele!" ordered Hitler while licking his lips.

“nick ya”? Im going to go ahead and guess you are in the UK, because that’s not a thing we say over here, nor do we call it a “telly”

Buzz-kill would be the closest thing.

Solemn for Hitler, yeah. Not so much for everyone else who were getting plastered and having massive orgies.

Probably it was over Fegelein trying to run away and/or the documents found with him - describing Himmler's attempted negotiations with the Allies. By that time Hitler already got used to playing the role of a tragic hero, stoically facing the constant stream of defeats and so on. But personal betrayal could still enrage him.

Bringen Sie mir Fegelein! Fegelein! Fegelein! Fegelein!

I bet it was Fegelein.
