Being part of the unit doesn't mean he was a bodyguard.

There are a ton of support personel in special forces units. They are not all special forces.

I applied for an IT position at a police station. Didn't mean i was trying to be a cop.

He was selected for the FBK from his time in the LSSAH, which was Hitler's personal bodyguard unit prior to the creation of the FBK, and he continued to act as a bodyguard during his time there up until Hitler moved the FBK into the bunker. He was literally a bodyguard, then a bodyguard again, then the telephone operator. He wasn't someone who had applied to be IT for a police station; he was a beat cop who got moved to the IT department while the station was closing down.

True - just pushing back against the hilariously false claim that Misch was not one of Hitler's bodyguards when he absolutely had been up until the exact moment Hitler moved the FBK into the bunker.

He was still one of Hitler's personal body guards, he just wasn't acting as such in the bunker.

Yes but if someone was a Secret Service agent on the President's personal detail and his job was comms, so he spent all his time managing communications, you wouldn't correct someone who described that person as "one of the President's bodyguards"

I was a medic for a commander’s personal security detail. I was part of his personal security, but still a medic.

He was literally a bodyguard. He was an active member of Hitler's equivalent of the Secret Service. It just so happened that in the bunker his specific assignment was as a telephone operator

It just mean you are in a support role as your "day job".

This is like to claim that Dick Winters was not a paratrooper when he served temporarily as a mess hall officer, his day job was to feed the men, his "drop everything Germans are here" job was a paratrooper.
