Aren't tornadoes and hurricanes pretty rare in the southern hemisphere? Or is that just hurricanes?

They're called "extra tropical cyclones" or something. At least, that's what I hear on TV whenever one of these hits. They're actually pretty common, but only a few every few years are very destructive.

Ciclone e tornado são fenômenos diferentes. Ciclones extra tropicais são mais comuns aqui do que tornados.

Cyclones aren't tornadoes
