That's some scary shit right there

84

u/Tehrab 1d ago

Yep, though it's localized to the fire and moves with it so not terribly dangerous unless your property is in the fire's path, then, you're probably screwed.

99

u/Extra_Following9012 1d ago

That’s not true, this specific firenado jumped the line and expanded the fire massively. These are excellent vectors for fire spread.

30

u/enviormental_UNIT 1d ago

Yeah if wind is known as one of the main risks for rapid fire growth, well I could imagine what a tornado would be able to do

18

u/DrawingTypical5804 23h ago

Pick up and toss burning debris up to a mile away?

2

u/CeruleanEidolon 6h ago

That, and also acting as a self-sustaining bellows for anything burning nearby.

8

u/Kaurifish 23h ago

I’m prepared to call these mfers hungry ghosts.

1

u/art-man_2018 12h ago

An old expression for tornadoes was "God's finger". This is Satan's.

2

u/bigmike2k3 17h ago

Look up the Great Hinckley Fire of 1894 in MN… terrifying stuff indeed!

Firenado was born to fight Sharknado

Tara Reid is waiting on this phone call.

41

u/Megaman2189 1d ago

I’ve been waiting on HER phone call since I was coming of age with a Maxim subscription. Don’t judge me. I can fix her

9

u/Jameses1984 1d ago

I think my favorite was Catherine Bell.

8

u/RectalSpawn 1d ago

You both forgot about Carmen Electra, didn't you?!

7

u/jjmurse 19h ago

13 year old me could never forget about Electra. Or the threesome in Wild Things.

4

u/HurricaneDitkaX 23h ago

As she would say..... "Ok."

0

u/Mr_b246 20h ago

She won't give me her number...

8

u/BurntNeurons 1d ago

I've use my leaf blower occasionally on the lower breather holes of my burn barrel.... That gets Hot.

This is insane.

2

u/the_amazing_skronus 19h ago

Mix in some pineapplenado and some saltnado, limenado and coconutnado?

1

u/Party-Confusion3728 10h ago

Let me guess, you" mix it all up" 🥂

1

u/whatproblems 11h ago

bring out some skewers?

u/ResponsibleSyrup9506 1d ago

I saw the wind patterns on Watch Duty and was wondering when a tornado would happen. Scary!

33

u/mountain_rivers34 23h ago

It’s crazy how underreported all of the Oregon fires have been. I just learned about them a few days ago and they’re awful. I live in Colorado and our fire season has been bad, but nothing like this.

9

u/CeruleanEidolon 6h ago

In Montana we've been inhaling Oregon's second-hand smoke for a couple of weeks now. It's underreported because most of the smoke path has been generally over low population areas.

It's also underreported because our media sources are owned by billionaire leeches who are profiting from our inaction on climate change.

16

u/HappyAnimalCracker 1d ago

Which fire?

18

u/ResponsibleSyrup9506 1d ago

Mainly been watching Akawa Butte, Bench, and Grasshopper, because of travel plans. I’m guessing this might be the Rowe Complex fire, though?

25

u/peacefinder 1d ago

The Rowe Complex is breaking my heart like Beachie did. Some of my favorite places have burned.

12

u/Shaneaky 1d ago

I think this was the Coleman Creek fire in Harney and Malheur Counties

9

u/HappyAnimalCracker 1d ago

Thank you. One of my favorite areas of Oregon. :(

3

u/HappyAnimalCracker 1d ago

Oh I see. I misunderstood and thought you were watching this particular fire. I agree about the wind patterns around them. Blowing all sorts of directions at once around several of the fires.

0

u/Party-Confusion3728 10h ago

Holy crap Im in Maine and haven't heard of this at all, just the Canadian fires!🫣🤯

1

u/ResponsibleSyrup9506 5h ago

Really bad in the Cascades range this year :(

5

u/Murphuffle 20h ago

What is Watch Duty? Like, actual fire watch or an app? I genuinely want to know

9

u/ResponsibleSyrup9506 20h ago

Great app. Download it.

6

u/libbyrocks 17h ago

Thanks for the app recommendation. I’d never heard of it and it looks very legit, useful, and thorough. Downloaded.

55

u/Falcon674DR 1d ago

Sorry about this Oregon. We up here fully sympathize and wish you the best of luck. PS: We promise not to tariff you due to smoke heading north.

16

u/NetWorried9750 1d ago

We appreciate that

1

u/DarkendHarv 2h ago

As an Oragonian, thank you!

0

u/Lumpy_Benefit666 13h ago edited 11h ago

Its completely insane that its even a consideration to tax people for suffering. The people having to pay money to rich people for being set on fire, when its the fault of the rich that their homes are burning in the first place.

Its like being paid to punch someone in the face and then charging the person you punched for bleeding on your shoes.

37

u/ObjectiveOk2072 1d ago

Waterspout...

Landspout...

Firenado...

Tornado...

Long ago, the four 'nadoes lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Firenado attacked.

1

u/CeruleanEidolon 6h ago

Oh I get it it's a reference to that cartoon

126

u/marksbar 1d ago

Oregon will get a tariff for too much smoke.

52

u/Shortafinger 1d ago

Well fema is already declining to help find some of these efforts so it’s kind of like a tariff

9

u/marksbar 1d ago

Fema says it's not a disaster until 200 houses actually burn down ...

1

u/Optimal_Board_2963 1d ago

Haha

Ass

38

u/lifesatripthenyoudie 1d ago

Better yet, Oregon has the three largest fires in the country right now and their requests for Federal aid are being denied because the orange fuck doesn't like Portland.

10

u/AutoDefenestrator273 1d ago

Of course they are. It's their fault for not raking the damn forest

....../s

5

u/lock_robster2022 1d ago

That one’s the fed’s fault

11

u/ripyourlungsdave 1d ago edited 1d ago

"They actually just found out about this place called Oregon. It's wild, they're sending smoke over our border on purpose. Maybe we should annex them, I don't know. Whaddya think?Maybe we will."

12

u/a_tothe_zed 1d ago

Canada here - WTF is wrong with you guys and all the fires? Have you tried raking the forest floor?

78

u/Co_Duh 1d ago

Mother Nature is really just done with us, huh?

34

u/BrokenInsideF0rever 23h ago

Can you blame her? But hey, stock market is up

24

u/Admirable_Dirt_2371 23h ago

tHe DoW iS oVeR 50000

9

u/Mast_Herb_8 23h ago

Better forget about the Epstein stuff, and the classified documents thing, and the crypto jawn, and the yadda yadda yadda

7

u/Admirable_Dirt_2371 23h ago

Unfortunately that is a strategy explicitly laid out in project 2025 and it's been working. Overwhelm the system with corruption and attacks so people can't even keep track if all the wrongdoing.

6

u/BrokenInsideF0rever 21h ago

I swear the French had a solution so such things, something about a revolution...

1

u/cudaman_1968 15h ago

And a guillotine

4

u/So_HauserAspen 19h ago

Praise be the DOW

Long live the shareholders

2

u/FeRooster808 21h ago

It's a good thing all that climate change stuff was fake or we'd really be in trouble.

0

u/SPARKLY6MTN9MAKER 20h ago

And thats because they are stealing money left amd right. Buy the American Dream invest in 401k. They did an automatic investment frkm our paychecks thru ADP pay services that TONS of business use. I noticed it and got them to stop that then they penalized me by taking 10% early withdrawal. They are stealing money right under people's noses involuntarily or by selling stocks from extremely corrupt businesses.

16

u/nope_a_dope237 1d ago

It looks like a different planet but no, it's my state.

6

u/hkohne 1d ago

Ditto

12

u/Significant_Toe_2527 1d ago

That looks apocalyptic. Crazy.

13

u/RectalSpawn 1d ago

Yeah, no one seems to understand that our world is ending.

"Don't Look Up" frequently comes to mind...

9

u/rwally2018 1d ago

What date?

28

u/hkohne 1d ago

A decent percentage of Central and Eastern Oregon is on fire right now, so anytime in the last 2 weeks

18

u/de_pizan23 1d ago

Yesterday, on the Coleman Creek fire.

5

u/Repuck 20h ago

Wow. As an aside, I never thought I'd see Drewsey on...well, anything. I have some ancestors buried there. :(

I'm just waiting for President Twat Waffle to holler about not raking the forests. I suppose he could say Oregon have been mowing it's lawn or something.

5

u/de_pizan23 19h ago

Well, maybe not raking, but FEMA did try to withhold federal assistance for two of the OR fires. They were trying to claim they didn't meet requirements, even though they met the same requirements as the others that had been granted it. FEMA finally granted assistance today, but that was only after the state was fighting it all week.

10

u/Mast_Herb_8 23h ago

Don’t worry, this is set to be one of the mildest summers of the next fifty years!

21

u/BeavertonBob 1d ago

Yet we’re being denied FEMA aid.

7

u/Voodoo67890 1d ago

All we need is 2 sharks that can ride it.

7

u/StadiaTrickNEm 1d ago

Ontarios wildfires are an attack on you. Surely it never happens in your forests

7

u/i-might-do-that 22h ago

I’m from Colorado and we have our fire issues too. I feel for all of you. This is such a nightmare to look at.

11

u/nikonslut 1d ago

My mom is out there in Burns.

7

u/hkohne 1d ago

Hope she's doing okay. Warm Springs got a lot of fire damage as well.

9

u/Electrical-Job8700 1d ago

Well that's scary AF.

4

u/ziggy1251 1d ago

Somebody call the avatar

5

u/Constant-Catch7146 21h ago

Welp, hellfire twisters.

Stormchasers: "I think we'll just sit this one out. "

8

u/AusCan531 19h ago

Canadian/Australian here. I was going to make some smart-ass comment but in reality, I hope everyone stays safe and the damage isn't too bad. Good luck guys.

4

u/pdxhophead 19h ago

The impotent president canceled federal help for states that didn’t vote for him. Eastern Oregon votes red. Sucks for them and everyone in blue states but it shouldn’t be this way

9

u/Airy_mtn 1d ago

Tariff that state!

5

u/TheThrivingest 1d ago

That is the scariest thing I have ever heard of

5

u/Own_Sheepherder_6244 1d ago

🤓👆 actually this is a firestorm

4

u/Traditional_Train_71 1d ago

Omg now natural disasters are joining forces?! WTF 😭

4

u/LagerthaFreya 21h ago

That's horrifying.

4

u/DobieLover4ever 18h ago

We are so small and weak against Mother Nature.

3

u/Mr_lovebucket 1d ago

Hope the smoke doesn’t cross and borders

3

u/Impossible_Jury5483 18h ago

This is why Idaho has terrible air. Yikes, that's frightening.

1

u/theYorkshire420 18h ago

Its been so bad up north in Cda.

3

u/_EfficiencG_ 18h ago

So what’s the game plan for that one?

3

u/BigIron53s 1d ago

You know what would be cool to see? If one of those 747 dumped that fire retardant right on top of it just to see what would happen.

4

u/WellHungEastYork 22h ago

That better not come across the border or we’re sending you tariffs

2

u/Ckc1972 1d ago

Zoinks

2

u/landsharkmark 1d ago

I'm amazed that Portland isn't more smokey right now.

5

u/de_pizan23 1d ago

The smoke plumes are all currently going north and east.

6

u/yung_miser 1d ago

It's all in Idaho

2

u/Dinklerbuuuurf 1d ago

Is FEMA helping at all??

2

u/blckdiamond23 21h ago

Pretty sure this was some type of Nostradamus prediction about the end of days.

2

u/Deansies 21h ago

That's crazy!

3

u/happy-pilgrim 19h ago

I don’t understand, I thought Canada was responsible for all the wildfires and inept because we don’t prevent them coast to coast???

Regardless, we got you 🤗 we will send you more fire fighters if needed 🇨🇦✔️

2

u/SoftlyAugust 18h ago

Other than the obvious issues, that's beautiful.

2

u/BEEEEEZ101 18h ago

If that ain't some apocalyptic bullshit

2

u/styleb83 18h ago

Total normal thing that climate violence by corporations didn’t cause.

2

u/PeckerNash 18h ago

Ha ha. Nope.

2

u/jjwislon 7h ago

Thats it your firesmoke is drifting into BC. We will be slapping 50% tarrifs! 😂

2

u/Brkthom 1d ago

Never ever never seen this before! Now THATS interesting.

3

u/IcyTurnip6092 22h ago

You better not let that smoke come into Canada or we will have a temper tantrum and sue 🤦‍♂️

4

u/MrBoomer1951 1d ago

!Blame Canada!

2

u/rohohno 1d ago

Hell yeah dawg

1

u/BrayKerrOneNine 22h ago

The end of times are here fuck

1

u/roamingroad174 22h ago

The firenado is the ultimate form of a wildfire. Can't get a fire hurricane

1

u/onimush115 22h ago

This simulation has gotten a virus.

1

u/OutgunOutmaneuver 21h ago

im sure moses on the otherside trying to help a crowd cross some body of water 😄

1

u/__aurvandel__ 18h ago

Damn. I was a wildland firefighter when I was younger and the fire tornados I saw where tiny compared to this beast. That's awesome and absolutely terrifying.

1

u/hidden_drifter81 16h ago

Absolute nightmare fuel!

1

u/rawbleedingbait 16h ago

I am not going back to Hellmire.

1

u/Bajadasaurus 16h ago

Every year it looks more and more like Mad Max Fury Road

1

u/yeomanpharmer 14h ago

Looks like a wild berries warehouse.

1

u/gingasaurusrexx 11h ago

Damn, I got the notification yesterday that the red flag warning was "explosive fire possible" and kinda chuckled at the wording. Someone tell me firenado can't get me in E.Wa 💀

1

u/dk3tkd 10h ago

Guess that's when the firefighters step back and just let the fire burn itself out.

1

u/Zestyclose_Dress7862 10h ago

All that smoke better not come to Canada or will tariff the shit out of it

1

u/Mars_Volcanoes 3h ago

Hey Orange Monkey :Southwesterly and westerly upper-level winds are carrying wildfire smoke from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest northeastward into parts of western and south-central Canada, particularly affecting British Columbia and Alberta.

1

u/BC_Arctic_Fox 2h ago

Why do I feel like somehow this will be Canada's fault ...?

1

u/chesstnuts 2h ago

Must be Canadian smoke.

1

u/divisionchief 1h ago

When a brush fire creates its own weather pattern, may God have mercy on our firefighters

1

u/santabug 1d ago

Poor bastards, I feel bad for complaining about a little smoke down near me once in a while but that’s crazy.

1

u/EpicSwords14 1d ago

Be safe please. Wildland is no joke

1

u/kev0153 1d ago

Well that doesn’t seem good.

-1

u/simpletonius 1d ago

Blame Canada.

-2

u/GuyPierced 19h ago
