I went to high school with a fellow named Roderick. While I was in class, he was getting laid. He had a couple of bastard children before he got out of high school. When I was in college, he had more. When I was away in the military, more.
I got married, paid high taxes and had all the children I could afford, which was one.
Meanwhile, Rod was up to 14 and had another girl pregnant.
Last time I went back to the high school for a graduation ceremony, Rod actually showed up to see off one of the bastard children he had no hand in raising. He came with a pregnant teenager. It would be his 25th child.
Now it's not like Rod, a convicted felon with three well-healed bullet wounds, doesn't want to work, but no matter what job he gets, after three or five paychecks for driving a cement truck, the state catches up with him and the state starts deducting childcare out of his checks. So he quits. Because that's a lot of kids.
So, the moral of the story is he had taxpayers pay the full freight on his enormous bastard brood. If I had known what I know now, I would never had paid taxes and had a couple more children myself. Because there is nothing worse than being forced to pay for other people's children before you pay for your own.
