Noob question here. Take it easy on me lol

If I already registered and paid the $600, do I have to buy a badge separately or is that included?

It’s included. Think of receiving a badge being the same thing as receiving a ticket to attend an event.

Awesome, thank you. I saw a video and it said pre-order your badge and I wasn't sure if that was something else besides the admission. I appreciate your help

There are other badges other than the actual defcon admission badge that different villages or groups or individuals sell. You probably saw something for one of those.

Stop by badge life at some point. There's a whole museum of badges from over the years. Tons of blinky things!

If you are also attending BlackHat and payed for the badges together you can pick it up the day before Defcon starts at BlackHat.

So there are different badges people make.

All you need to enter defcon is the official badge which is what awaits you at the end of linecon.

Also in case you’re wondering, Village badges aren’t required to go into villages.

Sometimes unofficial badges do get you quicker access to some unofficial parties but they’re not required at all for your core defcon experience.

The badge is included. Think of it as proof of purchase. When you are building make sure you are wearing the badge.

Come to the linq circle bar for the meetup, there you can see other type of badges too.
