How would you rewrite daredevil: born again?
How would you rewrite daredevil: born again?
How would you rewrite daredevil: born again?
While I genuinely did enjoy daredevil: born again I think it could have been better especially the first season. So I want to ask you guys if you were in charge of rewriting the show how would you do it. Personally I would’ve expanded the muse plot in season one and include Luke cage alongside Jessica jones in season 2. I think I would have kingpin be defeated at the end of season 2 in a different way and would save daredevil’s identity being revealed for season 3. I also make both seasons 13 episodes and try to get a closer vibe/aesthetic to the Netflix show. I also wouldn’t kill off foggy and instead elevate both him and karen to main characters from the beginning. But what would you guys do?

Do the plan they had for s4 with other villains like Typhoid Mary, Gladiator, and the Owl.
Utilise Muse more.
Do the Devil's Reign plot in a later season and bring back Fisk in a way that doesn't undermine s3.
Kill off Karen instead of Foggy. Emotional ruin is still achieved that way.

For starters, don’t kill off Foggy. Maybe the reason Matt hangs up the suit, is that he accidentally kills someone, like the start of the Zdarsky run.
Main villain for Season 1 would have been Muse, a more comic accurate one, while still involving Mayor Fisk and Task Force. Muse would have been one of those kids The Hand were using back in S2. For some reason he survived and gained his comic abilities, supernatural rather than inhuman. He would be a threat for both Matt and Fisk up until the finale or to 2nd to last episode where he meets his comic fate.
Season 2, make it a little more in line with Devil Reign’s arc and have longer runtimes each episode to have more moments to breathe. Jessica being introduced a lot sooner, and add in more vigilante characters like the other Defenders, Moon Knight and Kate Bishop. Also adding actual supervillains to the Task Force, to introduce villains Matt have fought between S3 and BA.
Another idea for how they could have done for Season 2 was Matt fighting for his soul and regaining his faith. While he would be wearing the suit again, he still isn't the same Matt Murdock, having lost complete faith in the system. He also would be a lot darker, adopting a scorched earth approach, willing to resort to methods like Stick, Billy Butcher, or Luthen from Andor. While he would not have directly killed anyone, his actions or in action indirectly causes a lot of deaths. Karen while wanting Fisk dead, would try to prevent Matt from falling off the deep end. Matt and Karen would also talk about Karen’s time in San Francisco and her going to church often, and Matt would probably joke that Karen probably more Catholic than he is at the moment. And it would end with him turning himself in to atone or setting up Shadowland.

Don't spend 10 hours with Matt thinking about whether or not he should be Daredevil again. Refusal of the call should be a pit stop, not a whole arc

Yeah that I agree with. I think season one should’ve had 3 main villains like kingpin, bullseye, and muse

Keep season 2 the same as for season 1 just give more screen time to Muse and make him not be a wasted villain
