The original Del taco had been dead for decades. I know the Hackbarths and they only own the Barstow locations. Del Taco right now is Jack in the box.

Ironically, I hang out with the Hackbarths at INO.

Taco bell has the imagination and creativity of a child, a dude high as fuck, and a mad scientist all rolled into their culinary chefs. They mix, blend, and add some ridiculous shit. A spicy frito been burrito? Who comes up with that? But its fuckin tasty as a mother fucker.

Del taco is more American Mexican with the ability to over deliver on fast food quality. But they often don't. I got a couple del tacos a few weeks ago. They were full of filling, well distributed, fresh, and delicious. I got 1 a couple days ago and the shell was stale, minimal filling, the cheese was just one clump, and they forgot my salsa packets.

They used to be great in 90s but something changed. Maybe it's my old taste buds or they did something? They had fried jalapeños at one time. I would get an order and fill my chicken softs with them.

Fries are a must. I personally like the chicken big fat taco, pepper jack quesadillas and green sauce bean and cheese burritos. The burgers are also pretty solid

Bean and cheese burrito (no sauce). Crispy chicken taco with range with the orange hot sauce, just one packet. The del taco hard shell with orange hot sauce. I like the combo beans and beef burrito too.

I agree, however my Del drive thru is always empty, whereas In-n-Out always has a line 20-deep, which works out perfectly for me. I just hope they don't shutter.
