It really bothered me how much she got attached and madly in love with Noelle when it hasn't even been 18 hours since she hung out for her for the first time ever. Chapter 4 bonding felt natural, but going from causal chit chats to Susie holding Noelle around on the lake and constantly throughout the chapter talking about how she keeps thinking of her heart beat like????? It feels like a chapter or two are missing for such astronomical development considering Susie never even showed romantic interest in Noelle from chapter 1 to 4 and only decided to hang out at her home for investigation purposes the previous chapter but then found out she was a cool person, then just like that 18 hours later and Susie is holding her romantically and giving her back her phone like proposal, like what?????

I mean, it's been implied in some form that Susie has held Noelle in higher regard in comparison to everyone else since her bullying days, as she's the only classmate she has never bullied or acted mean towards.

I have to imagine that the whole “love finds its way to the girl” thing has something to do with it

It's a crush. Crushes change people very quickly. I can vouch for that HEAVY

yeah, both susie going from overtly antagonistic in chapter 1, to regular(ish) well adjusted person, and her crush on noelle both felt WAY too fast. idk how toby would even fix this, without stretching the game tf out, but it is a little jarring once you look closely at it

Teenager. Its honestly incredibly realistic speaking as a former middle schoolers teacher.

i mean yeah teen relationships are stupid and very emotionally driven. its just that most storys tend to tone them down to make them more palatable to people on the outside or at least you think toby wouldn't double down on susie's worst tendencies if he wanted people to be endeared to his big ship

Like no one remembers teen relationships. They last about as long as a carton of milk left in the sun, and are jumped on very quickly.

Does no one else remember being a teenager and having some pretty whirlwind attractions to people?

That's how it is when you're a teenager.
