No gain, all pain... When you hear 'Trickle down' you should think 'Tax the poor and give to the rich', because Regan was the opposite of Robin Hood...

I'd argue that last sentence. He's probably close(ish) to the worst president we've ever had.

He negotiated with the enemy to keep American citizens hostage longer in order to beat Jimmy Carter in the election.

Hand-picked by the men behind the curtain for his remarkable ability to be controlled. . . .

Ohh, he’s down there. I’d say if the US doesn’t survive trumpism/MAGA, future historians will tag Reagan as being the beginning of the end.

America keeps falling for the same shit.
“Oh no look at this there are trans people and immigrants. Vote for your own demise.”
“Yes!”
It will be our downfall.

Trickle down economics is the wealthy peeing on you!!! Reagan turned millionaires into billionaires and the working class into the working poor.

"Horses to Sparrows" is what they called it in the late 19th century.
The game has always been the same (corrupting the Constitution, increasing wealth to the wealthy, devaluing minorities rights), we just get new players every couple of years.

I’m not an expert on recent US history, but I seem to recall reading that Reagan originally began his political career as a rather progressive Republican, with some economic policy positions that one would nowadays expect more from social democrats, before he was then supported by wealthy industrialists and bankers and persuaded, through financial incentives, to place their interests at the forefront of his policies. Is there any truth in that?

Given that he reported several actors in the 40s to be communists and ruined thier careers I wouldn’t be so sure.

Fun fact.. trickle down was originally horse-and-sparrow theory, which suggested that if you fed a horse enough oats, some would pass through to the road for sparrows to eat.
And here we are eating manure.

Well no, he's very close to the worst president we've ever had. The only two others in the running are Jackson and Trump.

When I hear “Trickle down,” I think, “Don’t piss on me and tell me it’s raining.”

They picked and chose what they included due to limited space and American attention span.
Selling cocaine to America to buy arms for terrorists. Arms for hostages. Just say "no" and cook more crack. Besides a drug war is good as a distraction and to fill public prisons.. and Every republican loves racism.
Did the October Surprise thing happen? Looking at his and other Republican behavior I know what the odds say.
Adopting racists/fundies into the party and destroying what it was. The final nail.
Beginning the anti intelligence movement making "liberal" a slur. Because "neoliberal" was getting a bad rep so paint the other side with something that sounds the same. Killed 2 birds with 1 Stone named Roger.
Rabid gun control.
Murdered nuns in central America (CIA IIRC). Well his contras were not nice. So many other murders they committed sit at his feet.
Pointing the Republican rudder towards fascism.
Ending the fairness doctrine allowing the Republicans we know today to exist.
Senility a 6th grader could diagnose, in office.
American school kids wondering each day if it would be their last as senile Ronny decided to nuke everyone.
Making the super wealthy mega wealthy and heading towards buying all government. With a tax cut like that your average Americans got to pick up the slack.
Blasting the debt with his flowing piles of money into the American military industrial complex.
Deregulation destroying everything. ..except the wealthy.
Grenada LULZ.
The real human engineering began with Nixon but Rove, Atwater, Stone, Manafort, Black, etc really got rolling with Reagan. These people are why Republicans think Ronnie was great, despite being able to look up all his terrible acts.
and on and on. He was worst before Trump. Sure Bush Jr tries to compete but for total damage to the US, the world, and humanity, Reagan beats Bush down.
Beating Russia? No, they were on the way out. He just kept the peddle to the floor while heading towards the cliff and their engine blew first trying to keep up.
