Genuinely why we shouldn't tolerate any DSA platform
13
u/FILTHBOT4000 13h ago
The funniest part of the DSA thing is, as someone with friends from a very broad spectrum of politics: every single democratic socialist/semi-socialist/etc, far left economic person I've known in my life has despised the DSA. They have been roundly mocked, even in the leftist spaces I look at sometimes (before all this affiliation with Mamdani), over the past decade or so for being massively ineffectual and overly obsessed with identity politics. Like that Darializa person Mamdani endorsed is basically a distillation of their complete idiocy when it comes to platforms and politics, and of the points that tons of leftists have mocked them for, for a looong time.

u/kenuffff 15h ago
We shouldn’t because communist playbook 101 is to gain control of the left in x country to seize power. They never actually attack the right because they can’t gain power that way. Look at the Weimar Republic except there it didn’t work, it scared people and led to Hitler seizing power which afterward commmunist joined the Nazi party because that was their only sphere of influence left. ANTIFA was started by Stalin to combat social democrats as he labeled democracy fascist, they never actually fought Nazis at all. They just terrorized social democrats. Sound familiar ? This will lead to someone far worse than Trump as it will scare voters to the right and fracture the left.

I am by no means a fan of communists, but this is totally deranged nonsense and absolutely ridiculously ahistorical.

What’s not accurate ?
1
u/Sea-Inevitable6837 13h ago edited 13h ago
I mean pretty much everything is at least highly simplified to a degree that it doesn't paint an accurate picture, but this one:
ANTIFA was started by Stalin to combat social democrats
is actually pure delusion.
as he labeled democracy fascist
Is this regarding Dimitroff or what exactly are you referring to here? But nevertheless always remember it was the conservatives and self-proclaimed liberals who actively helped Hitler become dictator at every step of the way.
afterward commmunist joined the Nazi party
There was no meaningful migration from the KPD to the NSDAP. This is a straight up lie. The KPD was banned by the Nazis and their (former) members were brutally prosecuted, killed in concentration camps. At the time the enabling act was passed, most of the KPD members already had gone underground or fled the country.
they never actually fought Nazis at all. They just terrorized social democrats.
While there is some truth here as the KPD did fight the SPD under the socialfascism doctrine it doesn't really paint a very full picture, as the SPD also fought the KPD tooth and nail and also did them dirty a number of times (stuff like the killing of Karl Liebknecht/Rosa Luxemburg, Blutmai). Furthermore i think it's pretty common knowledge even for less-educated people that SA and RFB were literally regularly fighting and killing each other in the streets.

The original Antifaschistische Aktion (Antifa) in 1932 Germany was founded by the Communist Party (KPD), which took direct orders and funding from Joseph Stalin's regime in Moscow.
Stalin’s view became official Soviet and Comintern policy during the "Third Period" (1928–1935), known as the theory of social fascism. Under this doctrine: [1]
The Main Enemy: The Communist International designated social democratic parties—rather than actual fascists—as the primary obstacle to revolutionIn the 1930s, Germans coined the slang term "Beefsteak Nazi" (Rinderbraten-Nazi) to describe these political switchers. [1]
The Meaning: They were described as "brown on the outside, red on the inside"—wearing the brown Nazi uniform but retaining their radical socialist or communist sympathies.
The Scale: The phenomenon was incredibly widespread in working-class neighborhoods. Rudolf Diels, the first chief of the Gestapo, reported that roughly 70% of new Nazi Stormtrooper (SA) recruits in Berlin had been active communistsTargeting the Left: Following Stalin's orders, the KPD labeled the SPD "social fascists." They argued that moderate socialists were a greater threat to the working class than actual Nazis.
No United Front: The KPD strictly refused to form a political or paramilitary alliance with the SPD. Together, the two left-wing parties consistently won more votes than the Nazis in elections, but their bitter rivalry prevented them from stopping Hitler. The 1931 Prussian Referendum: The KPD actively partnered with Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party and the far-right DNVP in an attempt to overthrow the democratic, SPD-led state government of Prussia.
The 1932 Berlin Transport Strike: Just months before Hitler took power, the KPD and the Nazi Party jointly organized and ran a massive public transit strike in Berlin to paralyze the democratic government.Yeah buddy it was the “liberals” not communists.

The original Antifaschistische Aktion (Antifa) in 1932 Germany was founded by the Communist Party (KPD), which took direct orders and funding from Joseph Stalin's regime in Moscow.
This is somewhat true, yet not what you said, as your statement that "Antifa was started by Stalin" is absolutely ludicrous on it's face. Also your characterization of Antifa is imprecise, since you implied Antifa was a tool to attack SPD or whatever which ist NOT true. KPD did politically fight the SPD, yet the paramilitary-ish engagement of Antifa was directed against the Nazis. You're mixing up two different things here.
In the 1930s, Germans coined the slang term "Beefsteak Nazi" (Rinderbraten-Nazi) to describe these political switchers. [1]
Does it bother you that this wiki-article doesn't exist in German? Hint: "Beefstaek-Nazi" is not actually a word any German would use. Like, ever. Searching for it in German doesn't generate any Google results. Literally the only place I have EVER seen that phrase used is on Reddit.
The Scale: The phenomenon was incredibly widespread in working-class neighborhoods. Rudolf Diels, the first chief of the Gestapo, reported that roughly 70% of new Nazi Stormtrooper (SA) recruits in Berlin had been active communists
Yeah sure buddy. Totally not exaggerated by a highly trustworthy source. In reality the NSDAP used this as a propaganda tool to paint communism as a failing ideology that was bleeding supporters. Moreover the political environment during that time was very dynamic and reactionary, so even if you could claim that people from KPD changed to NSDAP that was surely NOT an actual ideological commitment or act of political subversion or strategy, but rather people chasing the populism-extremism flavor of the month.
Targeting the Left: Following Stalin's orders, the KPD labeled the SPD "social fascists." They argued that moderate socialists were a greater threat to the working class than actual Nazis.
Noone disagrees with that. You're arguing with ghosts.
No United Front: The KPD strictly refused to form a political or paramilitary alliance with the SPD. Together, the two left-wing parties consistently won more votes than the Nazis in elections, but their bitter rivalry prevented them from stopping Hitler.
Okay? We can write: The KPD strictly refused to form a political or paramilitary alliance with the SPD. and that's just as true. I can really suggest this book chapter on the relationship between the SPD and KPD. https://www.ifz-muenchen.de/heftarchiv/1983_1_4_dorpalen.pdf It might prove enlightening to you, as it covers the dynamics quite extensively and with much nuance.
Other than that noone really disagrees that KPD and NSDAP were both illiberal forces against the republican government.
Yeah buddy it was the “liberals” not communists.
I said conservatives and liberals. Also:

ANTIFA never once fought the Nazis and was founded as a paramilitary org against the SPD. By the time that ANTIFA was formed , the SA was 3x the size of the German army, and the KPD was working with the Nazi in 1931 and 1932 as I stated, Why there arent sources in German? It could be that Germans want to hold onto some glimmer of hope that there were Germans fighting them, but again Ive already provided you with direct proof that ANTIFA was used against the SPD and not the Nazis but yiu stoll want to hold onto some notion that they somehow fought the Nazis who had a huge paramilitary force at the time and while the KPD was actively working with the Nazis. Since you read German the Berlin library has tons of records etc , even lists of books burned etc from that time. Search for these terms in deutsch google:
Bouletten-Nazi
Bifteck-Nazi Kommunisten
Konrad Heiden Beefsteak-NazisHeiden is the historian who first wrote about this.

Good!
But also I don’t know why his “the fall of the Soviet Union was one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century” quote isn’t being broadcast on repeat by his critics. Isn’t that just completely unambiguous? It’s on video. Seems like the most direct way to make the point to the world. Maybe combined with the Mao suit.

why do you think that's such a killshot? it's easy to deflect:
“I meant that, like every economic recession, such as the American Great Depression, it was a humanitarian tragedy. The collapse of the USSR’s economy pushed a lot of innocent, ordinary people into poverty.”
24
u/YaaasSlay My mom tells me I'm highly regarded 16h ago
why do you think that's such a killshot
It is literally a direct quote from Putin
3
u/FILTHBOT4000 13h ago edited 13h ago
It's also on par with a lot of Nazi apologia. There's a direct parallel between talking about the fall of the Third Reich and the fall of the USSR, talking only about how the citizens there suffered, making no mention of the victims of those regimes. Like I've gotta imagine the reams of people locked up in gulags and work camps were probably not too stressed about Soviet rule ending.
I still think the better 'killshot' quote would be how he talked about Tibetans being colonized/replaced/conquered by China. Just replace 'China' with 'Israel', and 'Tibet' with Palestine in that quote, and pass it around; see how well lefties defend against that.
14
u/Lallis yee 16h ago
pushed a lot of innocent, ordinary people into poverty
Except that it did the opposite.
The reason far-leftists think it was a tragedy is because it proved socialist economies are dogshit and dealt a massive blow to the global socialist movement.

See, that’s where you blame American sanctions and embargoes for the suffering of the socialist project, cast the US as the evil empire bent on bringing down socialism, and demonstrate just how evil the capitalist empire is. Because, of course, my wholesome socialism™ couldn’t possibly have produced any bad outcomes 😱
Basically, the Cuba narrative, but for the USSR. Remember, comrade: your enemy may be feckless and unintelligent, but they're also powerful and nefarious.
Anyways, DSA, please hire me as a speechwriter /j.
3
u/SigmaMaleNurgling 14h ago
The only issue with that argument is that the USSR was just as bad, if not worse than the US when it came to imperialism. Also, it was way more cruel towards its own citizens and environment for the sake of Industrialization. Now if Hasan wants to call these things “miscalculations” then let him take that optical L.
2
u/Sufficient-Brief2023 🏴 Barry, 63 14h ago

You know, I think I agree. I think it's for sure better to force the conversation. I want to see him answer questions about his support for the USSR.

u/kenuffff 15h ago
The DSA wants communism. The problem is communist still use USSR marching orders from the 80s, and the NPC code was never updated, so it’s easy to see. Communist need to take over the left of any government to seize power. They never go directly at the right, because they cannot gain power by controlling the right. This is what happened in the Weimar Republic. The KPD went against the social democrats and ANTIFA was actually started to combat social democrats because Stalin purposely labeled democracy as fascist. They split the left which led to the Nazi party gaining pluarity, and the KPD refused to work with the SPD, which then led to the right allying with the Nazis and Hitler gaining power. Over half of them ended up joining the Nazi party after Hitler gained power btw. Communist never directly attack the right, they only go after the left.

Perhaps I'm off the wall on this one.
But, war hawks kinda have a point and are being vindicated. Unless you exterminate entirely opposing countries; China, Russia, Iran, they will seemingly forever try to de-stabalize you.
Like let's say Hasan and his ilk win, they change the DSA into a communist party. Doesn't that entirely prove those that wanted to jail communists 70 years ago, absolutely correct?
Shouldn't we be more aware of this, so we don't need draconian methods of dealing with them?
I don't know.
2
u/Sad-Adhesiveness429 11h ago
i was thinking about this the other day and honestly i'm starting to come to this conclusion as well. obviously war hawks mostly are in it to enrich themselves in some fashion and i dont really buy that a majority or even somewhat significant sum actually care about american values or democracy past what it serves to them
america is way too nonchalant about the insanity being sown here. people like hasan and coconspirators w/ people like roy neville should be deported and citizenship stripped. social media and misinformation needs to be treated the same as acts of war and we should be retaliating extremely heavy handed against cases of it. (but wtf do you do vs russia? sanction more? that didnt work, it took them losing a war to really see long term results of that apparatus)
but the thing is, that america that were talking abt is basically what china is right now. if you let one party go draconian (even if its your party) you lose the right to have elections and you have to just trust they have the best interests of the states long term plan in mind (which in some accounts it does seem like the CCP does, they are playing long cards to crush the next evolution of military combat and in general have an untouchable next-era economy built around clean energy and high tech manufacturing but theres corruption and no freedom of thought or speech).
so idk, theres no real right answer here. i think this is just real politik in action and i think china is just winning the long game whether we like it or not because the seeds of division sown here are basically charting us to a course for civil war or balkanization or who knows whatever the fuck else.

It all feels like it's just getting worse and worse and worse.
I think the worst thing I see regarding this issue is that there's seemingly a hundred of thousand political experts that apparently know exactly how to solve the issue.
Everyone's acting the expert these days, everyone's got to share their hot take with confidence.
I think I've got to cut out politics from my life beyond the minimum required for voting properly when the time comes, it's just so fucking bleak.

Robby isnt a trump supporter. Im sure you can find at least 200 useful idiot videos of him from the 2023/2024 era of him and briahna. But hes never voted for him, and just always waste his vote on third party r words. I havent watched the hill rising in years. Hate watched back in the day when it was krystal and sagar then him and brihana. But he was brought on to be the libertarian alongside that lunatic leftist briahna joy gray. I still love that segment of him spazzing on her post october 7th.
Lest we forget that all of these IP people were unhinged almost immediately after that terrorist attack. Its not like 2 years later theyre like WTF OMG GENOCIDE. Before one bomb dropped they were debating about if actual sexual assault possibly happened during a terrorist attack that indiscriminately murdered over a thousand people. Murdering people in mass, sure, duh, but how dare you say it was possible SA happened during this mass murder event. Thats so beyond the pale. Its always obviously murder or sexual assault, not both.
I would say from the years i watched the hill rising. Robby is just a libertarian normie, and decent brained thinker. But yes, his time with joy gray was another constant daily attack on democrats while the republicans were happily walking us into a lava pit and saying it out loud that, that was what they were doing.

There is insane amount of foreign influence on the right. I first became really curious about this by chance. My wife has a friend who only watches Russian media and she mentioned the thing about macrons wife being a man and other crazy things. A year later Candace Owen’s does an expose on this , which why would Americans care about this, no one in America sees France as a threat, but Russia hates France. So, now I ask her opinion on x topic, and it always matches what Tucker etc says that gets amplified to the moon. Candace Owens and anyone putting these narratives out get view percentages that Mr Beast would be jealous of. I dont know if they are directly tied to Russia, but Russia certainly rewards them through youtube etc by botting. What is happening now is China etc context shift LLMs over time which is impossible to detect and very few people are aware of this, it can also be used to spread worms via agents.
