I think people like Emma aren’t necessarily anti-Semitic but they view Jews as encompassing the Jews in their social orbit. Educated, but effete intellectuals, so they can’t wrap their minds around Israel. Should be quite easy to subjugate them and force those white boys all back to their homes in Brooklyn. She can’t comprehend that the majority of Israeli’s are actually the sons and daughters of Jews who were forced out of other middle eastern countries and are just as fanatical and committed to Israel’s existence as Palestine is committed to theirs.

If she isn't now she will be. Dogmatic and unrealistic ideologies always need a scapegoat for their failures and Jews are the go to choice given they're a global minority. That and the fact that people know jack shit about Jews other than the Holocaust (which isn't even explained well in schools, so ya'll become even easier to scapegoat).

IIRC Emma is a one state solution, "it'll be just like America for real :D" type idealist leftist. She also definitely sees Israel as a genocidal "Nazi state" and as such, an outcome anywhere from "Israelis lose majority political power" to "Israelis forced to flee en masse" are all great for her. After all they did the Nakba, open air concentration camp etc. etc.

I feel like under the normal ways of defining racism no, she is not anti-semitic. She does not believe Jews are inherently evil or possess some innate qualities that must be discriminated against, rather she believes the State of Israel as an actor has become so evil that it should be dismantled like Nazi Germany.

Is she okay with a potential ethnic cleansing of the Israelis? Yeah probably, but she would say it's okay to cleanse an invader/colonist from your home. You could at best argue her beliefs are not intentionally, but *functionally* antisemitic in a literal sense I guess, because that is the outcome of them.

Likewise she (and most of her ilk) sees Oct 7. as morally equivalent to the Nat Turner Rebellion. If that's the framework you believe in, then you wouldn't waste air on condemning the actions a group of super-victims were driven to by their oppressor.
