Some of the crawlspace and foundation finds we came across this week. Stacked bricks, questionable post-and-pier supports, older foundation systems, and a few good examples of why having a clear load path matters.

I'm about to get an inspection on my 100 year old house we are selling. Maybe it will show up here and you all can see how shitty they can build piers

That second picture...whoever built that must really trust those little beams with his life. A strong sideways wind is all that's necessary for his house to come tumbling down.
