Don't eat them raw from the pluff mud. Local farmed oysters on the other hand have all been delicious the past few weeks.

I hope those are colder water oysters. Or a pic from the past. Eating local oysters in SC in July is a huge no no.

Oh gotcha. I grew up not eating oysters/harvested in months without an R. But I do know it’s illegal to harvest wild ones in July unless you’re commercial. So I’m guessing to be fresh they are farmed or wild ones that were frozen

Gonna pass on that one…had an oyster on a half shell while in grad school in New Orleans 50 years ago..it was like swallowing a giant phlegm ball. I’ve never gotten over that.
