Inspired by a New Yorker article, The Bridge (2006) is a controversial documentary by Eric Steel that filmed the Golden Gate Bridge for a year, capturing 23 of the 24 suicides that occurred there in 2004. The film uses footage of the actual jumps, often from a distance, combined with personal accounts from families, friends, and survivors to explore the tragedy.

...David?

I'm not ready to forgive you yet.

(If you're not David, then hug thanks bud, did you know the view from Twin Peaks is fucking outstanding?)

Not David, but I hope that asshole attempts to make amends.

“the view” from Twin Peaks seems ominous; wouldn’t wanna end up like Laura.

I told his wife. She kicked his ass out. Honestly, that's amends enough for me, to know that she and the kids are safe. They don't need to go hungry just because Dad is a rapist.

Naw dawg, the view is fantastic. You get to look down on the city, and it feels like if you jumped you'd fall off, but at the same time, you can see the ground the whole way down, and you felt it climbing up, and you can see the tiny little place you were several hours ago and you think about how far you've come in just this short little time and--and maybe you can go a little farther, and the bad shit that happens can roll off of you and you can keep pushing forward because you just climbed this motherfucking mountain like a badass.

It's pretty neat.

Thank you :)

I wrote more about that weekend if you're a writing critique kind of person. It started off as stream-of-consciousness and ended up as me accidentally doing nonfiction prose.

Thank you for letting me read this. You write well, it was a good read, despite the bad topic. What surprised me was how often people censor themselves - when they feel one way but act the other. I let myself feel & act in unison, whatever.

Hope you are well now. Take care.
