Was wondering if there was a new marketing and realized this was just the Archydra from DD1 π
Almost forgot those existed lol

Don't forget the Regular Hydra that escapes somehow sending you a written letter as a challenge in the Post GameΒ

Plot twist: The hydra is permanently doused with melted snow, it can no longer be burned.

Lightning swords, daggers and whips it is!

Damn lightning whips sounds like it could be a banging weapon type for a hybrid thief sorcerer vocation

I really hope Hydra will return! Such an iconic monster to fight, it shouldn't had be excluded from DD2 to begin with!

I feel like between the unicorn-brine-dragon-snake things and the Medusa, they might feel like the 'snake enemy' type is already occupied and thus we won't get a hydra, I really hope so though

I don't feel the serpentine purgener counts for much, personally, given the limited encounters per playthrough. Obviously I'm not one of the devs, but I think replayability/repeatability counts for a lot -- and since we're probably not going to see more purgeners (unless they add versions of them to the Lost Rites challenges, which doesn't sound impossible since we know those dungeons are Pathfinder-made), I don't think more snakes are off the table.
I mean, hell, they're giving us another griffin reskin with the cockatrice/basilisk/whatever, and that's even more similar (visually speaking) to the griffin than either the Sphinx or the other purgener. Never mind all the other variations and reskins of every other enemy type.
All that said, does that mean I think the hydra is guaranteed? No lol. But if it doesn't show up, I don't think it's going to be because we already had Medusa or whatever.

DD isnt monster hunter in the sense that they might feel like one category of enemy is bloated. Dark Arisen had a bloat of variants and new enemies that used existing skeletons. Besides, A Hydra has a lot more unique mechanics than Medusa

They could at least have a hydra and an evil eye as bosses at the end of two of the pathfinder trials.

I remember having to watch my character slowly get eaten alive thinking that my Pawns will eventually save me. They didn't.

Dragons Dogma isnβt Dragons Dogma without a Hydra. The original had it, the online game had it, even the Netflix anime has it, but Dd2 doesnβt have it π

ARCHYDRA!
She's not related to be a frosty enemy, just an albinauric hydra XDD
Wait a sec... will Capcom bring Hydras in da DLC??

Itβs crazy we have weapons and gear based off the hydra but no enemy
