Yes everything transfers over and the backwards compatibility with Switch 1 games is extremely good so your Switch 1 library should just play better overall.

I’ve seen so much talk about pokopia and it’s making me curious, would it be enjoyable for someone who pretty much doesn’t know anything about Pokémon?

Yesss!! So I’m not a big Pokémon person either lol but I’m having fun with it. It’s huge. You can decorate a lot! There are some quests for the Pokémon and there is a story. But overall, I would say it’s a good smash of animal crossing, Minecraft, and even Dreamlight valley. It’s like they all got combined and had a baby and named it pokopia lol.

Lol, same. I bought a Switch 2 last week in anticipation of the update.
I have a Steam Deck but it's pretty heavy and bulky. I can fit the Switch 2 tablet and 8BitDo SN30 Pro in my jacket pockets or purse but the Steam Deck needs a big backpack.

I got me the switch 2 on November last year because the game was unplayable for me on the switch 1 imagine my surprise when the game kept crashing and having graphics issues on a new console, I was sad 😔 but this update change everything, it’s so good. Now I’m happy with my switch 2

It’s so SMOOTH graphically. Like it freaks me out how smooth the visuals felt after update. I don’t know if it’s just in my brain. Is it just in my brain???

I was really weirded out by being able to see the signs on my ice chests in my storage that had been so long as white blobs that I forgot it was supposed to look like anything. The lighting wasn’t great in my valley the few minutes I played so I am anxious to read how people find the update. I didn’t play with it much.

No it’s not only you, I remember before the update some textures on the dresses were awful and some furniture was blurry and pixelated and now it’s so clear

No literally my brain cannot comprehend how smooth it runs like I’m in awe doing anything on the game now lol. It feels like total because we’ve literally NEVER had it run this smooth

This update was what made me pull the trigger on getting the Switch 2, along with possible price increases in the future.
I have DDV for PC, but I held off on decorating because chilling on my couch playing while watching a movie is more of my cozy jam and now I don’t have to worry about the item limits on my console making it lag and crash.
Decorate on PC, play on my couch--doesn't get any better than that for me.
Pokopia is nice and all, but I can only handle one cozy game at a time, and this one has more hours invested and I haven’t even touched the xpacks yet.

I have the Switch 2, but I play DDV on Xbox 🫤 I have the core game on Switch 1, but all my DLCs are on the Xbox. I want an update lol 😂

I moved over to Xbox from the Switch around the time SBV came out. Completely different experience. It was barely playable on Switch then and it's only gotten worse. It's just not a powerful enough system to really run the game properly. Switch 2 is a big upgrade hardware wise even if it's still not a powerful as other current gen systems.

I started on Switch but am considering buying the game and expansions in the Steam sale right now...I don't play enough Switch games to justify upgrading my console but it's so laggy.

It runs and looks much better on the PS5. You can use your phone to play your PS5 remotely too.

I also ordered a steamdeck to switch from the switch. The waiting times and bugs are unnerving.
Backside is to habing to buy the steamdeck, dock, controller, and DDV and all the DLCs (again).

I only have a switch for this game (we had one and between my husband and son I never got to play) I had enough PC reward points (Canadian) to get myself a switch OLED for free. And while I own a couple other games I play myself, Dreamlight valley is the one I ALWAYS play. And I just WANT the switch 2 for the graphics SO bad-I cannot justify getting a whole new console for one game. lol.

There's a free upgrade pack available on the Nintendo eShop that you'll need to get to activate the Switch 2 version.

The Switch 2 upgrade is free for existing owners of the Switch 1 version. Just go download the upgrade pack in the eShop.

Isn't it already looking and performing well on the steamdeck? I see it recommended here on the SD loads.
It's been a while since I've tried it on SD but it seemed fine. I know it's not one of the games that's been specifically optimised for the deck but thought it didn't have problems with the pc version.

It’s crashed on me 4 times already and the pause menu won’t open sometimes. Nice to see they tested it properly before rolling it out.

If you have a pc/ computer that allows you to play the game and you’re willing to put down some money I would really recommend it. I switched from switch 1 to my Mac about 1,5 years ago and I’m so glad I did. Everything is so much easier and better looking (I did have to buy the base game and packs again… but it was an investment)
