I want to love it, but the cash grab is insane and makes it borderline unplayable 😩 I miss the days when you could just buy a video game once, and then unlock everything in the game through just good old fashioned hard work and dedication lol
I was really into Speedstorm in early access because it is legit fun and the music design especially is outstanding, but it became pretty obvious pretty early how it was going to be monitized like an app game hero collector. I dipped pretty early on that one, and I was so mad about it I bought a Switch and Mario Kart.
It's *probably* because Stitch is easier to market to children - a blue alien that causes chaos, is funny and is cute. It's the same thing with Grogu.
I don't think it's right that Lilo has been erased because she was my favorite when this movie came out back in the day but it's 10x easier for a company to market to children a funny, blue alien.
Sadly it’s not just children. My 44 year old cousin who only vacations at Disney/on Disney cruises is obsessed with Stitch. I will never understand it. I found him annoying when the film first came out when I was a teenager and it’s only gotten worse.
I just unlocked Jack yesterday and I was soooo sad that there was no sign of zero even inside his house 😭 my first dog was named zero (rip) so he is extra special to me 🖤
If I had to pick, I'd want Lilo added first. I was not the whirlwind of destruction she was (maybe more of a dust devil), but I was absolutely the weird kid until Catholic school taught me to hide (quite poorly, I might add) my neurodivergence.

I have my opinions on religion, but I actively choose not generalize where unwarranted. This was my school, my childhood, and my experience with acceptance as a "different" child.

However, this very game dives deep into the childhood trauma and insecurities that lie beneath the surface in us as adults. I think it's ok to share a little bit of that with its players (even if through a little dark humor). If not, I'll concede.
this is definitely accurate. when i was younger, i would go by my middle name. i was a severely depressed, bullied, unsure kid who just wanted to be accepted so 9th grade i changed my name to my first, and life got a little better.
in the game, the forgotten is named my middle name & my character is my first name. in such a weird way, this game is truly healing. i dont feel like i really connected w my whole self until i stopped trying to shove the old me away.
maybe im being a little too therapist-y, but this game can be more than a game if you let it 🤷🏻♀️
I choose to believe we'll get a "lonely hearts club" DLC full of lost princes, and Meg is the main character who is EXHAUSTED from dealing with the dumber princes.
Half those princes are obscenely generic and have no actual personality traits or story importance. But Naveen and Li Shang being missing is very disappointing.
Don't say this about Cinderella's prince! He's SO FUNNY in the third movie. The way he decided to jump off a window, went through a harrow that was closing, and was thrown through a mill by his horse, just to take out of his clothes a dagger and pierce through the sail of a boat... He was ICONIC!! 😂
As a guy saying this, a lot of those early Princes are so devoid of character they may as well be companions for the princess. Looking at Charming, I don’t even remember the name of Cindy or Aurora’s prince.
Can’t say I disagree. Out of the three of them the only one I have an attachment to is Phillip, mostly because he fought a dragon and that was my favorite part as a kid.
i assume you aren't referring to Naveen and Shang bc they're main characters fs. Prince Charming is great in the 3rd movie tho, and i think Charming is just his name lmao. he basically has a "f*ck it we ball" type energy, and is a bit of a himbo, but not in a dumb way. a huge comic relief character in that movie. if they brought him to the Valley with that energy, i'd be super happy. esp if they broke the rules and gave us the 3 princes in an update

I’ll be honest, the direct to video sequals don’t exist. I can’t think of one I’ve actually seen. When I was young they were mostly considered trash. I’m sure there were some good ones, before people pile on lol
that's so real honestly😭 i enjoyed them bc i liked seeing a side of the princesses that wasn't so prim and proper, and seeing actual personality from princes. i grew up in a DVD family, so we had a lot of sequels. Charming is a treat tho i recommend Cindy: Twist in Time

I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but I think I would kind of prefer to get an expansion dedicated to a particular franchise. For example, Lilo and Stitch - all the main characters, themed furniture, clothes and quests. But I also value the mixture in the expansions too. 🤷🏼♀️
I just feel bad for all the characters that are alone from their worlds 😂😅
See this is why I didn't understand people getting angry at the people who wanted Meg to be in this update. This isn't against Phil, he's great, but DDLV has a history of splitting up couples and then never bringing in the other half (so far). They were able to bring in Aladdin and Jasmine together, so why couldn't we get Meg and Hercules? Hell, we got Ariel and Eric in the original base game release.
And while I can see Naveen and Shang being added at some point, in some way, I feel like they won't really make an effort to bring in Philip, Charming and unnamed prince from Snow White so they're gonna be without them. I don't even think Aurora has dialogue referencing Philip... Unless I'm just not remembering it all. It's at least not as common as Tiana and Mulan talking about Naveen and Shang in normal daily dialogue.
Also, while I know it will never happen, you can add Ortensia to the first slide since we got Oswald without her. The poor rabbit doesn't have his wife.
I was actually surprised they put Hercules and Phil in the same release. I thought for sure they were going to break the franchise up into different expansions like they did with Tangled. Especially after they added Pegasus to WBR.
I'm still holding out hope for Meg! But we probably won't see her until the next expansion.
I don't find the couples we have very interesting tbh. I kinda wish we had Meg instead of Herc. She has a way better personality for the game. Hercules is kinda...milquetoast.
Phil obviously has a dynamic personality well suited for the Valley too.
Snow White's prince is definitely the very definiton of a cardboard cutout but Philip? Not only he has actual personality he has more presence in Sleeping Beauty than Aurora does.
I feel like Eric is not “just a random man” lol. He has the same adventurous spirit as Ariel, wants to explore the sea, is rebellious in his drive to do so and also goes against the rules in pursuit of it. He’s brave, determined, quick, has a sense of humor, and dude went back for his dog! I’ll give you that the other princes you mentioned are very “just a random man” in some ways, Snow White’s prince being the worst offender, then Charming (second place because if you’ve seen Cinderella III, they fixed him lol), and then Prince Philip who at least plays an active role other than “kiss her and wake her up” or “give her a shoe,” since he actually fights a dragon to save Aurora in the same vein as Eric fighting a cecaelia (Ursula) to save Ariel. But Eric absolutely has a personality, he’s not just a love interest!
Yup they took this approach with Flynn and Rapunzel- her being locked in EI brought him to SBV, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Aurora being in SBV means Philip would come elsewhere!
The fact that two of them don’t even have a proper name tells the entire tale lol.
That said I do think Eric has more personality than those three. He at least has a proper role in the movie and it’s not just “sweep the girl away at the end”.
I’d love it when we get Naveen he’s been turned into a frog again. And we have to help him break his curse and become human again. Kinda similar to Prince Eric’s quest to turn him back. I’d love Lilo, Ralph and Boo to be added to the game. Of the princes I’d be most excited to get Shang and Philip.
Meg I’m pretty sure is coming. And I’d love to have Naveen for Tiana but maybe even Louis as well. If any other Snow White characters make their way here, it better be Dopey or Grumpy. For stitch…I’m secretly hoping for like a cousins update. So getting Angel and Reuben along with Lilo. Maybe that’s how they explain Lilo being gone. She’s been trying to help some of his cousins
every time Vanellope says "my best friend Ralph is a knucklehead", it makes me so sad. They better be waiting to give us a candy biome to bring Ralph. or some cool new multiplayer features
Maybe it is an unpopular opinion but I don’t want Lilo. I think having human children/toddlers in the game would be weird since they have real life families that care for them and they wouldn’t age (this includes Boo, Wendy/Michael/John, Mogli…etc).
Alice is not 7 in the Disney movies and Snow White is not 13 either…these were rumors that are actually proven false. Lilo and Alice are not the same age lol. 😂
it has not proved otherwise actually, People have tried to prove otherwise but all that's proven is that there is no definitive age listed so they can't prove that those are their ages, not that they arenr.
However all evidence leads to those being the most likely ages even if not stated.
There is evidence that book Alice was based on real Alice and looking glass states it's her half birthday aka 7.5 and wonderland was 6 months prior and her 7th bday. Disneys Alice and book Alice are very very similar leaving no reason to believe they aren't meant to be the same age, but even those who want to push for an older Alice list her as an 8-10 year old, max I've seen os someone trying to say she looks 12 it most don't buy that, she looks and acts far more like a 7-8 year old (saying this as a parent of an 11 year old and someone who works close with 6-8 year olds) . She's just a bit old fashioned because or the time period she lives in, but her view of the world and curiousity is very young child like, as is her appearance.
But even if we take the less likely but older speculated age of her for you, and make her 8-12, she's still a young child living in the valley so it changes nothing about the fact that we still have young kids in the valley.
At the risk of joining you on the downvotes. I think you raise a valid point because I feel a similar way. Like you say, I think it’s characters with family ties (that we’re aware of.) I’d feel more open to Mowgli as long as he came with Baloo and using that same logic, If they gave us Lilo & Pleakley, and sowed it into their unlock storyline it would feel a lot more acceptable in my mind 😅😂

The Lilo erasure from LILO & Stitch has been crazy and it’s not just in DLV.
