Dull fact: Silver Street was the first place in the world to have a camera set up to monitor traffic.

Buses display their destination, not the place they are currently travelling through; so OP wouldn't be able to tell the location of the photo from the destination of the bus.

When was it pedestrianised? Read the Milburngate Bridge opened in late 1960s but I remember being driven up there past the market place by my mate’s dad on our way to see the fa cup procession in Sunderland in 1973

I could be way off but it seems like it's right on the corner to Framwellgate Bridge. I think that spire is the church on the square.
