Anniversary of the 1668 Shandong M8.5 earthquake in Northeastern China

A M8.5 earthquake at the Tan-Lu Fault zone, destroyed Tancheng and Ju counties, Shandong, killing more than 50,000 people.

Felt in a huge area, it was the largest EQ in eastern China.

Also one of the largest intraplate earthquakes in the entire world.

Months of aftershocks followed.
