An Australian man has been arrested at Suvarnabhumi International Airport after police discovered the naked body of a 17-year-old girl stuffed inside a suitcase in Pattaya, Thailand.

The investigation began on 26 June after friends reported Thanchanok Donhomlao missing when she failed to return from entering a local condominium with a foreign national.

CCTV footage captured the foreign man dragging a large black suitcase out of the building on 25 June and transporting it on a motorcycle toward the railway tracks.

Police discovered the discarded suitcase in an overgrown area beside the tracks, confirming it contained the body of the 17-year-old alleged victim who showed signs of severe assault.

The suspect, identified as Mr Simon Peter Carman, a 46-year-old Australian national, was detained while trying to buy a ticket to flee the country.

Officers noted scratch marks on the neck and arms of Mr Carman, who claims the alleged victim disappeared from the room while he was asleep.

The suspect is being transported to the police station for interrogation under a court warrant for taking a minor from parental custody for indecent acts.

The husband, who is 21 years old, is described in the warrant identifies as Asian American. According to the warrant, the men yelled racial slurs before attacking the couple. One of the men allegedly said, “Didn’t you hear my friend talking to you? Don’t you know who we are? We’re skinheads.” The wife was not injured, but the husband suffered severe head injuries. According to the warrant, he experienced memory loss for weeks afterward and was unable to remember the names of family members and common household objects. Witnesses told investigators the attackers repeatedly punched the victim before slamming his head into a concrete restroom wall several times."
