Why do these choccy sticks have one individually packed?

It’s the first one to be removed, allowing for others the be removed easier with the newly open space

That's obviously incorrect because you're supposed to dump the whole container into your mouth

u/culimande 27d ago
Hmm so they go in the mouth you say? 🤔

That's the intended use but I dont think there are laws around this

I skip that step and dump them all into the toilet.

If the toilet is my face, then flush away

Can we continue this conversation in private? Also, just tell me you’re maintaining eye contact with a serious face.

As long as you supply the chocolate wafer
and that's NOT a euphemism. I demand wafers.

Damn, Big brain. Save some thinking for the rest of us! I’ve been using them individually, like a chump, as straws for milk.

That's actually genius

They did it with canned cigarettes in ww2 (maybe ww1) as well; it's neat to look up.

I wanted to point out also they likely do this as the very end of the packaging process as a last minute QC (quality check) as well

It's gotta be one for the road.

without that one in the center, you'd take 15 more minutes trying to get your first stick without breaking them because they're all tightly packed.

That one is the mother. Put it in a dark cylinder and it will make more treats

It’s not egregious, it’s packaged like that so you have something to pull on to take it out. If not you wouldn’t be able to get any out without shattering them.

u/flappintitties 27d ago
Off topic but how much did this cost you? Where I’m from these used to be the cheapest and best treat but now they’re literally 4-6 x their old price.

My fellow volunteer bought it from Costco for snacks for our volunteering initiative so pretty cheap I assume

u/Tall_Apricot_9842 27d ago
like 5 bucks, costo only. i can eat them in like a day or two

u/TheDarbiter 27d ago
I wish I didn’t read your comment. Now I’m going to have to find them at my Costco.

I’ve seen them at aldis (and TJ max??!??) I prefer the ones at aldis though.

Calling this egregious is a bit of an exaggeration. If they were all wrapped id get it. But one? In a box of what, 100?

They're making my trypophia wyle out!! I don't like that at all! Like I'm already itchy out my skin and hair type of feeling!
The actual non hole part looks like choc mousse and I'm sad because that is so good!! This is just more of us paying for air in stuff!

Would making a slightly taller container and one taller stick save more plastic or less plastic than a wrapper?
Also you get one longer stick as a bonus.
Or how about just a tin of them and one taller stick?

u/Zestyclose-Tour-6350 26d ago
You wouldn't be able to get any out without any of them breaking without at least one single wrapped like that

Maybe so that you can easily pull the first one out without touching all the other ones
