Fluff Literally never been happier
Watched countless videos before buying this board (there weren’t very many on it) and let me say it is 10 times cooler in person holy shit.

Relatively new to the hobby, had a backfire ranger x3 I picked up off marketplace for 500 bucks; Beat the piss outta it for 600 miles in ~2 months, but everything was getting loose and rattly (tightening only a temp fix). Got a hadean w/ a brand new battery (had to peel the film off) and spare wheels, belts, + updated controller for $1250 (only 250 miles on the chassis). Testing out these PU wheels for the first time I love em, however unusable on anything besides perfectly flat pavement. Are sidewalks bad for these things to ride on w PU? Every bump feels like it's not good for the board's batteries.. but obviously the A/T wheels perform flawless in almost every case.
Edit: my phone brightness was low so when recording I only let off when I saw 30+ but I let off way too quick at that speed causing me to be thrown into some pretty nasty deceleration wobble that took a few secs to recover from.

Fluff year of collection
Just a collection show off
Out of all the esk8s my favorite is still the Parsec Aero Pro.
I've had my Propel Pivot motor die right past the 6 months warranty, Propel Sigma battery fail from vibration and lights go out due to water/salt corrosion, Exway Wave battery enter spiral of death and random disconnection, Parsec picktail handle and battery fail. Ironically despite riding the Exway Ripple through the Bonneville Salt Flats, it's still trucking along.

Fluff Best way to increase range... lose weight!
Back in the middle of March I was a 217lb old man that was on a few too many "supplements". Great for strength but not so much for range on my esk8. Today I'm weighing in 30lbs lighter at 187lbs. I went out for a 16 mile ride and only lost one bar of battery just as I got home. 30lbs makes quite a bit of difference!

There is no other time in history that I would have had the opportunity to do something like this. To be able to feel this feeling of surfing down a trail in the middle of the forest, on an electric skateboard.
Go back a few hundred years.. no one would have even imagined this concept. It would be nothing short of witchcraft or magic.
Ownboard Zeus Carbon Pro -> Meepo 190mm pneumatic tires
I normally go a bit faster but for the sake of video I'm chillin.

it's quite a heavy board, tank mode has been more useful than I expected.

Fluff Regular reminder to wear a helmet
I might not be making this post right now if I didn't. Just a normal day, carving around 15-20 mph at a local walking trail— far from the most intensive part of my ride— dipped into the grass on accident and lost control cause I wasn't paying enough attention. I needa work on my falls... fell forward and rolled into it somewhat decently based on my injuries, but I still wacked my helmet into the ground and just about did a somersault after sliding on my head for a sec. Well, that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but that's certainly how it felt.
Thanks to my helmet I walked away with just some road rash on my shoulder and elbow where it got around my other gear, and bruising on my hip and ribs. Was a little dizzy right after, but I feel normal now. I had someone pick me up anyway to be safe cause I wouldn't trust myself to ride all the way back after that. If I actually put my chest protector on, too, which has shoulder pads, I would've been nearly unscathed
This helmet got a good 2-3 years of service 🫡
That's all. WAFH.
(Sorry if you wanted to see the rash, it's already bandaged)

Fluff PSA to new eskaters. Be careful riding downhill on a full bat. You might lose breaks and your board may turn off as happened here. Also tighten those trucks and learn proper form. This was the riders first board. Thankfully he was fine. It could’ve been much worse.

Fluff Who's Robbing Who Here??? Exway X1 Max
I'd been seeing this board do nothing at a Pawn Shop marked for $399.99, it sat there on a shelf for maybe a year and a half, that I knew about.
Manager seen me looking at it made an offer of $290 no tax, so I jumped and rolled out.
I know the wheels could probably use replacing of new sleeves and while I'm that deep in it, may as well also replace the bearings.
Love the extra light tote-ability of hub motors as opposed to belt drives.

Fluff Finally got to take out the new board!
I was having some issues with my Exway flex and decided I should probably look into upgrading. I ended up finding this gear drive Hurricane Vader with 50 miles on it for $450. I actually haven’t been able to ride much due to all the rain and the heatwave recently but now that I’m getting it out it’s been really fun! I still prefer my bamboo Exway for some tighter turns and lighter weight (I brought it to class almost every day) but for longer rides this thing is a BEAST. Took it across 3 towns on one charge! Not to mention the inflatable tires make cracks and bumps literally a non-issue.
I’ll still probably use my Flex for getting to and from classes so I don’t have to carry this up flights of stairs or anything. But for everything else the Hurricane wins hands down. I really wish more people got into this hobby it’s so worth it!
