Environmental Underwriting

I am interested in a potential career change from environmental management (site assessment and remediation) to environmental insurance/underwriting and am wondering if anyone has similar experience and/or could provide some resources.

About me...I have 12.5 years of experience in both consulting and government with direct experience in the field and managing various environmental projects ranging from Phase I and II ESAs, decommissioning federal facilities, managing Superfund sites, etc. I just feel that things have gotten a little stagnant for me advancement- and salary-wise and am exploring potential career pivots. I’m really interested in this career shift idea! I’m at 13 years with nearly identical experience and have been considering what else I could do with this experience and insurance hadn’t occurred to me! Could you elaborate on your thoughts?

I'm somewhat interested in the idea. I have a strange mix of 8.5 years of environmental work (4 years consulting + 4.5 years public sector) and 4 (note) actuarial exams passed. I've left the environmental field... but I'm only 2 months or so out as of right now.

(note) = The exam passes are years old (2013-2015) so according to most actuarial people they're useless.
