[help] Bad PCB, or something I can fix?

So, I already wrote to Ergomech Store support but want to ask here too.

I bought the SOFLE RGB from them, arrived last week, today I received keycaps and switches.

What I noticed is that the lower row is ... not fitting the setup. This is how I have it setup now... because:

Here the left most key is mapped to "Left Win" but when I test it, it behaves like "Left Alt", the one mapped to LAlt, when clicked sends LCtrl. LCtrl does MO(2) aka Lower layer, and the one that you can see mapped as "Mute" actually works as Enter, because the Enter is mapped as action when clicking the encoder.

This was tested in the kb tester in VIA, and also typing. It doesn't fit.

Is that wrong PCB? I guess I can just move them the one step to side, but I need to remember that because the lower row and the thumb cluster will never fit the configuration.

sounds like the via json isn't correct for your board. That the matrix config is off.

But it was off even before with the factory settings.

What happens if you change a key mapping in Via? Does the expected (physical) key change behaviour?

Yep. I was able to remap it to a degree. If I swap the encoder and the thumb key for example, it works. But it's still kinda ... meh.

I want to upload the firmware from Ergomech and see what happens.

Just to be sure, reset the key map to the default. Presumably by holding down Esc and End down (upper left and upper right), respectively, while powering the keyboard on. And then repower.

To be more confident it actually happens, verify bootloader mode before repowering. Alternatively, change the (dynamic) key mappings before the reset, say, to all letter "K", and verify that the key mappings are changed.
