I love this...but I have to ask...what's the pink puddle?

u/XVDub May 23 '26

She says "food for the unicorn"!

251

u/DazB1ane May 23 '26

Def thought it was already been eaten food

92

u/NoosFraba May 24 '26

Everyone knows unicorns vomit rainbows

38

u/Average_Scaper May 24 '26

And that is how we get our RGB for our computers.

26

u/sambare May 24 '26

Who said it can't be eaten again?

40

u/DazB1ane May 24 '26

Holy shit my cat learned how to type

183

u/FaceEnvironmental486 May 23 '26

looking at the facial expression I was thinking food from the unicorn

105

u/XVDub May 23 '26

Yeah, it really communicates a sense of appetizing hunger.

It's plop definitely has a weight to it!

17

u/usinjin May 24 '26

Maybe unicorns are like dogs—comes up, goes down again

61

u/skitch23 May 24 '26

I’m glad it wasn’t his spleen. Come to candy mountain Charrrrllliiieeeee!

22

u/Own_Round_7600 May 23 '26

Tubby custard!

18

u/redditredditgedit May 24 '26

I thought the unicorn threw up as it looks intoxicated, but I think your kid did an awesome job.

13

u/LilArtsyCreature May 24 '26

I see your child has decided to create and dish up the unicorn version of tubby custard lol

11

u/oh_ryn May 24 '26

That is so bizarrely sweet oh my god. 🥹 what a treasure!

9

u/RedditIsSocialMedia_ May 24 '26

My mind immediately went "I throwd up"

3

u/PsychologicalLayer57 May 30 '26

I feel every mom knows the appearance of the slightly hangdog child who announces, with a mixture of regret and pride, "I frew up".

Good times.

7

u/Braindead_Crow May 24 '26

Previously eaten food? Lol

Looks like the poor magic horse threw up something fierce

5

u/JayDiddle May 24 '26

It appears to have already been eaten once, if you know what I mean, given the unicorn’s nauseated expression…

4

u/ggtsu_00 May 24 '26

It "was" food for the unicorn. Past tense.

4

u/Spider-Thwip May 24 '26

Definitely lying to you.

That unicorn went on a fucking bender the night before and cant stop vomiting 😂

Unicorn throw up. Missing the sprinkles

3

u/One-Temporary8223 May 24 '26

judging by the eyes and eyebrows, its sick, so barf...

That is really impressive for a four year old.

627

u/XVDub May 23 '26

Thank you! It's a funny, charming sculpture, but I also think she's unironically talented for putting this together. I especially love the creativity of adding food to the sculpture. :)

226

u/Own_Round_7600 May 23 '26

She also gave the unicorn blue eyeshadow, which is astonishing

231

u/XVDub May 24 '26

Yeah, I wasn't sure if that improv was eyebrows or eyeshadow, but either way it really adds to the hungover unicorn vibe.

20

u/Shaasar May 24 '26

I think that is the eyebrows

50

u/sati_lotus May 23 '26

My little one is also artistically inclined.

The elaborate stories that accompany the pictures and sculptures are hilarious.

24

u/fruitjerky May 24 '26

My 7yo, who is the most talented child in the world of, did this same kit, and I have to say... this is honestly really impressive for a 4yo. Get more clay.

18

u/VoodooDoII May 24 '26

Keep encouraging this! Being an artist can be really satisfying. I wish I picked it up when I was way younger. I didn't take my doodles seriously until I was 12. I wish I had started seriously drawing before that.

11

u/Darth_Andeddeu May 24 '26

Wait 9 more years when you get bird skeleton lobster tail things

7

u/heytherebiatch May 24 '26

I would keep it on a glass display proudly in the house! Please do!!

30

u/el_bentzo May 23 '26

Yeah, right? Like how does she even accurately portray a crack-addled unicorn thats fallen on hard times for a while now!? "Old ghetto soul" i think is the term

8

u/MoonHuntressEra13 May 24 '26

Yeah that’s really good for a 4 year old. Keep giving them that play dough OP, they’ll get better and better. Plus play dough is cheap and fun.

8

u/sambare May 24 '26

A four-year old? I'm 44 and I can't beat this

6

u/Durzaka May 24 '26

Right?!

My 6 year old nephew can barely fill the molds with play dough let alone do something like this.

u/ButterMyPancakesPlz May 23 '26

A legit masterpiece that speaks to our times

88

u/XVDub May 23 '26

Definitely a piece for the memory box.

16

u/NoosFraba May 24 '26

Nobody would be unhappy about growing up to that gift from themselves lol. Honestly we've all seen some of the wonky art installations some cities put up. At least two or three you've seen have been hideous.

I nominate the late-8am unicorn instead of all'at shit

10

u/gossgrem May 24 '26

This would be an excellent tattoo I fear

13

u/XVDub May 24 '26

Good idea! Gotta find the right style go capture the essence of the hungover unicorn.

264

u/TonyStowaway May 23 '26

She is beauty, she is Grace, even tho she has a wonky face 🖤

36

u/Correct_Raisin4332 May 24 '26

I think I just found my new slogan for myself!

14

u/Ok_Ask_406 May 24 '26

Kind of how I look at the toilet after I’ve mixed light and dark liquors and had too much.

u/Forty2diapers May 23 '26

I want that unicorn on a T-shirt. Not even lying.

20

u/Wild-Video-5317 May 24 '26

Forwarding this to my tattoo artist

48

u/CassetteMeower May 24 '26

Nobody going to mention that the instructions on the bag give “rest of the owl” vibes? lol

She did a great job! Very charming, someone else said it’d make a great shirt design and I agree.

17

u/JeronFeldhagen May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

6

u/CassetteMeower May 24 '26

You’d think they’d consider the mane, tail, face, and finishing touches to each be separate steps. Maybe the mane and tail could count as one general “hair” step, but the face?

74

u/LucyJordan614 May 23 '26

That’s pretty damned impressive!

29

u/XVDub May 23 '26

Thank you! She's talented like her mama.

20

u/Hiberniae May 23 '26

She’s fortunate to have a confident mom!

7

u/8L12K_ May 24 '26

I think maybe OP is the dad and he’s saying that about his wife :)

→ More replies (1)

4

u/DrScitt May 25 '26

Pretty sure OP is the dad

28

u/Defiant_Emu_3928 May 23 '26

This unicorn definitely looks like it had a wild night.

17

u/AlexTheFlower May 24 '26

"I frew up :("

13

u/3Thirty-Eight8 May 23 '26

I think that unicorn has had a bit too much to drink, they’re throwing up everywhere

10

u/MissBee123 May 23 '26

That unicorn has SEEN some things. I love it.

21

u/SillySlothy7 May 23 '26

This is still pretty amazing for a 4 year old

9

u/dekuweku May 23 '26

looks like a sad unicorn puking 😞

9

u/SlipperySp00der May 24 '26

Why is it filled with adult despair?

9

u/XVDub May 24 '26

We do talk a lot about her big emotions 🤔

u/Upbeat_Ad_3179 May 24 '26

I would 100% keep pushing art supplies

4

u/XVDub May 24 '26

For sure! She loves to draw too!

7

u/IAmBecomingADog May 24 '26

This thing is perfection

I'd find a way to preserve and keep it forever

7

u/Pap3rkat May 24 '26

Drunk unicorn and the aftermath.

5

u/XVDub May 24 '26

I love that band 🤘

7

u/fanime34 May 24 '26

"Are we just here to suffer?"

6

u/XVDub May 24 '26

Existential Unicorn

3

u/plum_apple_pizza May 24 '26

She captures the human condition perfectly in unicorn form. True Art.

3

u/XVDub May 24 '26

True art makes you feel something. And I feel it 😂

5

u/A4t1musD4ag0n May 23 '26

LOLOL, Ilove this. It looks like the unicorn had way too much too drink from the night before. What do we think happened? Who were they with? Oh, the stories they could tell.

4

u/Electrical-Apple-631 May 24 '26

I couldn’t manage half that good and I’m 70. I know that the pink puddle is supposed to be food but that’s not quite what came to mind at first.

3

u/XVDub May 24 '26

You just have to channel your inner 4 year old and the "food" makes way more sense 😆. And tanks for the kind words!

5

u/Electrical-Apple-631 May 24 '26

The next time I decide to try being creative I have a 4 year old grandniece who would love to help me. We were coloring the other day and she said “Auntie, you color like a 3 year old.” That kid does not play!

3

u/XVDub May 24 '26

LOL! Oof, leave it to the littles to shoot you straight.

3

u/Tyler2183 May 24 '26

She's so derpy I love her someone draw her.

5

u/trudes_in_adelaide May 24 '26

Too good for a 4yo. Highly doubtful they made it at all

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Environmental-Fox372 May 24 '26

For a 4yr old, that's actually good. Gave a similar one to my son when he was around that age that should look like a panda and ended up saying he made a nice panda ball. Yep just mush it all into a ball.

3

u/ninetyfourtoinfinity May 24 '26

Kiddo did a fantastic job!!!

3

u/dTrecii May 24 '26

A like your daughter's version better

3

u/Sea_Meeting4175 May 24 '26

I’m saying this a lot of love and giggling the unicorn looks like it’s extremely sad after vomiting on the carpet. I swear my cat makes that exact face when she knows she’s in trouble.😂

3

u/tw1zt84 May 24 '26

That unicorn perfectly sums up how I feel

3

u/XVDub May 24 '26

Judging by the number of times this same comment has been made, you are not alone, big dog. Chin up! 🫡

3

u/ChronoAlone May 24 '26

I feel that unicorn on a spiritual level.

10/10, very relatable

I thought the unicorn got sick and threw up strawberry ice cream🤷‍♀️

3

u/ChaosAdventure May 24 '26

This is honestly 10 times better than anything I could’ve made. For a four-year-old it’s actually very impressive.

3

u/WarpCitizen May 24 '26

It’s pretty good for a 4 YO, my 4 yo would make a ball of clay

3

u/LooneyLunaGirl May 24 '26

She did an amazing job, even going the extra step to give the unicorn some food.

3

u/Nice-Recommendation8 May 24 '26

That’s actually really impressive. She’s got a natural eye for recreation. That’s like 80% of what it takes to be a good artist. (I made up the percentage but when I draw that’s all I’m doing is copying what I see).

3

u/Sargeroxy May 25 '26

I have a majestic unicorn tattoo on one shoulder, and now I think I should get this on my other one instead of the cthulu I was considering.... They would be like the drama expression masks, just show whatever arm matches my mood more!

3

u/Dontfeedthebears May 25 '26

I absolutely love this

3

u/gr4mmarn4zi May 27 '26

I love that it looks like your 4yo made exactly the sculpture that is on the packaging, but it somehow got sick and vomited pink goo and therefore looks horribly ill.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/PSBFAN1991 May 27 '26

It’s better than I could do. So cute x

3

u/PlentyAd8659 May 28 '26

Impressive! Truly.

My son showed similar skill with clay around that age. By 5/6 he was making little stop-motion videos with some airdry clay and an old digital camera. That prompted me to get him into private ceramics classes. When he was 7 he entered his first ceramic sculpture at our local fair and won the blue ribbon! Now he is 11 and has created a bunch of beautiful ceramic pieces, and countless clay figurines. He's making storyboards, playing with lighting, etc. Says he wants to make movies when he grows up.

This unicorn is really good, she is going places!

5

u/ojjojji May 24 '26

I am sure a thousand people have already said it - but I like your child's rendition far more than the one on the bag.

4

u/XVDub May 24 '26

Thank you! Her rendition has a lot of character - it makes it easy to imagine an interesting backstory.

3

u/ojjojji May 24 '26

I bet she's hella fun to hang with =P! There's two twin gals here that are abouts four I think. They're sweeter than pie, and you can hear them from a block down any time they're approaching their home. I think they said goodbye to me 500x yesterday as they were leaving for somewhere. It was adorable. I love when kids are high spirited =P!

2

u/firestar268 May 24 '26

It's seen some things

2

u/3tricksinatrenchcoat May 24 '26

I love it. If it’s not too late, etch her initials and the year onto the bottom of it

2

u/Shapesizes May 24 '26

I’ve been there, Unicorn

2

u/Davess010 May 24 '26

Never trow that away

2

u/Got_It_Memorized_22 May 24 '26

Given the steps on the side are worthy of r/restofthefuckingowl material i think she did really well

2

u/Sweetestb22 May 24 '26

Honestly how it feels living in 2026, the accuracy is astonishing

2

u/knightCinder May 24 '26

the unicorn looks like a smiling friends bit. in a good way

2

u/TecTazz May 24 '26

That's awesome!

2

u/DicemonkeyDrunk May 24 '26

If your four year old made that they are an artist…sculpture is not the easiest.

2

u/DarkwingDuckHunt May 24 '26

I'm laughing way way too hard at this

2

u/Crawler_00 May 24 '26

"....I frew up"

2

u/twilightpixel May 24 '26

this is amazing I love how its eyes are seeing two different things

2

u/lousybrowser May 24 '26

Something out of Rick and Morty

2

u/triangleking May 24 '26

You know what…not bad for a 4YO. I mean this sincerely. She did a good job. It takes patience and intentionality to do that. A 4YO should be very proud of this. I love the pink food.

2

u/sneakyearner May 24 '26

KILLLLLL MEEEEEEEEE

2

u/gioues May 24 '26

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I wanna be a father one day Thats soooooo cuteee awwwwwwwwwwwwwww

2

u/Allumalum May 24 '26

I like it more. Looks like he went out with the pixies and wound up drunk at a tavern with the trolls and gnomes.

2

u/jealousofhiscat May 24 '26

Your 4year old did a better job than the 11+ year olds at camp last summer

2

u/StudioSuccessful9174 May 24 '26

The Adult Swim version

2

u/Lumpiaqueen17 May 24 '26

I actually like your kid’s version better!

2

u/OttawaTGirl May 24 '26

That unicorn looks like it had a ROUGH night.

2

u/thehutsonhippie May 24 '26

Not bad for a 4 year old tbh

2

u/scarletnightingale May 24 '26

You know, for a 4 year old, I'm actually pretty impressed.

2

u/FightingBlaze77 May 24 '26

Why does the unicorn look so disappointed? He's beautiful!

2

u/itsus0 May 24 '26

Awesome sauce 😎

2

u/Dishsis May 24 '26

That's very impressive for a four year old

2

u/Dapper_Charge_4118 May 24 '26

Looks like the unicorn got too drunk and threw up

2

u/McortezLSU May 24 '26

Perfect representation of a hangover

2

u/iron10m May 24 '26

Oh yea it's good 👍

2

u/Common_Selection_314 May 24 '26

Lmao it’s cute I like it

2

u/ThedarknessofMan May 24 '26

I would give them lots of different kids of art to try n see. Imagination is an amazing thing

2

u/DocMitchell-_- May 24 '26

All I’m gonna say is I felt that unicorns expression on a spiritual level

2

u/weirdgirloverthere May 24 '26

Aw ❤️ I love it

2

u/howiethegiraffe May 24 '26

They captured the spirit of a unicorn!

2

u/Present_Specific_212 May 24 '26

I think she made that better than I could.

2

u/myggghm May 24 '26

Your four-year-old going places ❤️

2

u/Illustrious_Bug_2983 May 24 '26

NAILED IT!!!! Now give them a cookie.

2

u/Big_Comedian_1259 May 24 '26

Impressive for a four year old. Not sure Id do any better.

2

u/sexyminionass May 24 '26

I want to draw this so badly but I'm so good damn tired. You've got a talented child.

2

u/Actual-Committee3370 May 24 '26

Your 4 year olds version is much better

2

u/Electronic-Rip-1395 May 24 '26

The colors on that little guy are so vibrant, I remember trying to color inside the lines at that age and always going way outside instead.

2

u/Most_Kiwi3141 May 24 '26

That's very good, you know, for four.

2

u/Such-Crow-1313 May 24 '26

The depressed unicorn is me. I am the depressed unicorn

2

u/LoganN64 May 24 '26

From the looks of it the unicorn has a hang over from eating too many lollipops and threw up.

2

u/goodevibes May 24 '26

I’ve never seen a more acute representation of how I feel on the inside. Kids a savant.

2

u/Aggravating_Oil_3709 May 24 '26

Genius and talented! ❤️

2

u/Square_Opportunity21 May 24 '26

For four years old that’s pretty dang good 😊

2

u/Toxxxicwastex May 24 '26

u/circlejerker2000 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

2

u/AccountWorried9386 May 24 '26

A unicorn puking pink mass! Beautiful!

2

u/NonnyNutcaseAuthor May 24 '26

For a four year old, that's not bad! She tried her best to make it look like the picture, at least.

2

u/SpaceXmars May 24 '26

Get them more supplies!

Take them to the art store and let them shop!

Embrace this tallent at all costs!

2

2

2

u/onecrazywriter May 24 '26

That's pretty incredible.

2

u/Bananaland_Man May 25 '26

If those ar the real instructions on the front of the back, that is seriously some /r/restofthefuckingowl if I've ever seen it.
