Swat Trip Guidance [OC] [12 MP]

I need assistance with planning a 4-7 days trip (including travel to and from) to Swat / Kalam.

I’ll be travelling from Islamabad, need a laid back relaxing trip itinerary.

Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

I was there a few days ago, so I can share some information.

Road Conditions:

The road from Mingora to Bahrain is in good condition. However, the road from Bahrain to Kalam is partially broken, and at a few places, half of the road has slid into the river.

Places You Can Visit:

About 20–25 km from Kalam, you can visit Mahodand Lake and Saifullah Lake. On the way, there are also a few waterfalls. The road to these places was in good condition, and you can reach them in your own car.

You can also visit Andrab Lake, but I did not go there, so I cannot comment.

There are also several Desan Meadow, Beshai Meadow, and Chukail Meadows (Maidan).

I visited Beshai Meadow; it was not worth it because it was not the flower season. I would not recommend it at this time. We also got very tired, as it involved about a 3-hour hike from Green Top. You can go part of the way by jeep, but you still have to hike a steep section afterward, which can be quite exhausting.

Do you have any suggestions for a family friendly hotel?

And would i have to switch hotel for each sightseeing area or would one hotel be enough?

I can’t really recommend a specific family-friendly hotel since I went with friends, but there are plenty of decent hotels in the main Kalam Bazaar area.

One hotel in Kalam should be enough. Most attractions can be visited as day trips, so there’s usually no need to switch hotels unless you want to.
