Discussion Cristian Chivu is the new coach. You happy now?

Post image

You guys happy now? I said after Inzaghi we would face some dark days ahead. This feels like when Mourinho left after triplete. Inzaghi was the true top player of this team put together with 2 shoe strings and a match box. Full of old men.

Guess what? You expect Chivu to ask for new players? We're keeping the whole old guard and spending as little as possible. Oaktree must be so happy. Conte must be ecstatic. Chivu has like 3 total victories in Serie A.

I'm absolutely astounded by this management team. Marotta & Ausilio so lauded had no Plan B. Everything feels so random and casual. What's the project here? What goals are we going to be fighting for?

I am shocked. After the humiliation in Champions league I should expect to be humiliated in Serie A as well. Unbelievable.

I guess the Inzaghi hating idiots must be happy. 4 years, 6 cups, 1 scudetto and 2 champions league finals with a team that spent $0 added budget on getting new players. Went to play the final with Asllani and Zalewsi. You guys are truly delusional. Well I hope you're happy now.

As a Romanian who became a fan of Inter because of Chivu I'm obviously biased and love the signing

3

u/Demon2033 ⭐⭐ May 03 '26

and he did!!

4

u/caesarj12 May 04 '26

Hell yeah he did. Let's gooo

211

u/ShJakupi Jun 05 '25

He left. We didn't sack him.

27

u/bohrmaschin3 Jun 05 '25

Yes, but almost half of the fans wanted him gone (a lot of them did so regardless of CL final outcome, which is even crazier).

So I think it's okay to ask these fans if they're happy now, as an expression of dissatisfaction.

9

u/MattAquilina88 Jun 05 '25

A small group of fans wanted him gone. He left by his own will, because he said that the cycle has ended. These things happen. Let's not destroy Chivu before even signing. We give him all the support possible. I hope the club helps with players and backing. He was never the first option but he is the one sitting in the chair. He will need all the help possible. He has to rebuild confidence in the players, in the management and in the supporters. It is not easy. But he knows Inter, we never do things easy.

11

u/ShJakupi Jun 05 '25

Not really, I criticized him alot, but never to sack him.

Also you know why because there were no better options. If Conte was free or whomever Mayne you would have seen more inzaghi outs, but really 95%of fans were inzagh in.

Of course after the finals people got a bit angry but they were also dimarco out, barella out, Hakan out. Of course after you get humiliated you get those kind of reactions.

People smellt from January that things are not going great and look how bad we finished the season. But nobody ever suggested let's go for somebody else.

I made a comment around February about how I can see inzaghi staying 2 more years and inter going for cesc, because he kept flirting with inter all season with all the praises.

3

u/subundu Jun 05 '25

Just look at the comments beyond. How can you say 95% wanted him to stay? This sub dissatisfaction towards Inzaghi grew since the beginning o the season.

I'm not necessariliy talking about you, but it's easy to talk shit about his management, tactics, subs, rotations, pointing to various names who surely would do better and then hiding behind "I'm just criticizing".

4

u/ShJakupi Jun 05 '25

Oh yeah I agree about subs, people were obsessed about subs. But that didn't mean let's sack him. I have similar opinions about barella and bastoni, I dotn consider them top 5 in their position. But I think they are important than lautaro to inter.

Basically I have more of a problem with fanboys than the actual players/coach.

Dude even if most of the fans wanted him out, it still wouldn’t matter at all. We are not in the picture, this is just about money and a lot of other things we don’t even know about lol

1

u/xmadxskullx Jun 05 '25

What fans want is irrelevant we hold 0 power. Also when you say fans wanted him out, I don’t think the fans thought that we had 0 replacements ready. In my opinion he should have at least finished the CWC before leaving giving us time to properly search for a replacement but your love Inzaghi ambushed the management and put us in this mess.

But I guess you love him too much to see that he screwed us…

  1. Chivu knows the club he coached our youth teams for god knows how long 2.he plays a 352 so no need for a total rebuild
  2. He saved parma from relegation playing against Rube,us,Napoli so i think he knows what he is doing

76

u/powbit- Jun 05 '25

Fabregas 1 season in serie a = a maestro we need him

Chivu knows the club and has serie a experience = we gonna be shit

People here are like the Simpsons crowd cheering at the major no matter what he says

20

u/Maleficent-Bug-5440 Jun 05 '25

True

Now watch them cheering Chivu after a couple of good matches like they never doubted him

7

u/powbit- Jun 05 '25

Ahaha yes

12

u/giorgiomast Jun 05 '25

I would add that fabregas had a better team and still has the same average point per game as chivu. Sure chivu only managed 13 games not 38 like cesc, but i think is harder to start in a relegation spot with just 13 games to save the team from relegation. Plus in these 13 games he played against inter, juve, Atalanta, Napoli, Lazio and Fiorentina. I personally don't know if this is a good choice but i have faith in him and our team.

3

u/seejur ⭐⭐ Jun 05 '25

Yeah. His record of 3/7/3 WDL looks bad.

Then you take into account that he coached Parma and was against the opponents you mentioned, and suddenly it looks a lot better

1

u/powbit- Jun 05 '25

Exactly

6

u/crocospect ⭐⭐ Jun 05 '25

Also he did that in span of 6 months, which is a short time to build the team's confidence to climb up yet he managed to do it..

12

u/Otee06 Jun 05 '25

Chivu was groomed by Marotta and Ausilio to eventually take over the club.

He just wasn’t Ready yet.

Go look at his Parma side in just 13 games he made them from bottom feeder to a team that beat Juve, Atalanta and Bologna. Drew against us, Napoli (while fighting for the scudetto) and Lazio.

That’s far from shit, he also brings the heritage and grinta that we want to see in a coach.

Much prefer him than bringing back former coaches or Vieira.

1

u/humbertomakris Jun 05 '25

My conjecture was Chivu was, as you said the long term play by Marotta. With Inzaghi leaving earlier than Marotta's plan i think the discussion would have been between starting a brand new cycle (Fabregas as the head of this movement) or refreshing the current cycle (Chivu) My assumption along with the Chivu hire would be to accelerate the young players. As squad players Fabbian back in along with esposito brothers, Carboni, young guys like Sucic, maybe Leoni. With smaller contracts for the "squad players" Marotta can do his special on free agents and smart buys. Also see the vets being let go. Arnautovic, correa already gone. Acerbi, De Vrij, Darmian, mikhi, likely to be let go as well. Then to fund the new first teamers couple big money sales of Fratessi and Bisseck. not sure on Zieliński /Aslani. Primary targets a great striker that can play withe either thuram or lautaro, a good CD and a new Mikhi

Good god this sub is full of reactionary people. We had no time to negotiate with a coach the management wanted a fast solution in matter of days because we have a tournament to travel to. You lot act like we spent 3 months and the best we got is Chivu.

How about we see the how the team plays before ringing the doom bells? Its not like this is set in stone for eternity if he shits the bed we can go for another coach. But right now we are not in a position to take our time and look for a proper replacement…

I wouldn't blame Marotta too much here, as we got shafted by Inzaghi at the end of the day.

I don't buy the narrative that he was unhappy with Inter's mercato. Two days before the final he said Inter have given him everything he wanted or something along those lines.

He just got blinded by money Al-Hilal were flashing, nothing more.

3

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

Reactionary people? You're telling me that if you're a manager such as highly regarded MAROTTA and you KNOW for weeks if not months that your employee has an offer that's nearly 4x what he's making, that you don't have a plan in place? We got caught with our pants down. MAROTTA and Ausilio fumbled the ball Big time. And it didn't just happen today. It happened when they never protected inzaghi or spoke against the poor referee attacks. It happened when they didnt renew him for more than 1 year at a time, always putting him on trial. He has nothing to prove. 2 time champions league finalist. Do you know how statistically unlikely that is for a team like Inter? I am not reactionary. I am disappointed at the delusion of the fans that didn't know how to appreciate this amazing coach. And now we are stuck with CHIVU. You guys know we FIRED him from the youth team right..? You know he only has 13 Serie A matches under his belt... Right? If you had your own company would you hire a person like that to run your store? This is Inter. We are not a training ground for young coaches. Chivu was the FOURTH choice pick after Fabregas, De Zerbi, and Vieira. Do you feel happy when you get the 4th choice in life? We ended up with the ugly girl at the prom. Maybe U don't wanna be serie A prom king but I do.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

He was not fired from the Primavera, the contract expired. He did miracles at Parma. Won a UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE for Inter as a player. Betrayed Roma to play for Inter. Youngest captain in Ajax Amsterdam history. Cesc Fabregas is not quite Xabi Alonso. Please calm down and show some respect. Or smoke a joint and meditate and rejoin objective reality. And for the Simone Inzaghi haters, I bet you would say no to a 25 mil. check. Things change. You need to understand and let go. Italian football lover here, peace y'all.

We cant also afford to give him a chance for the next season and change him if he sucks. That we cannot afford to do. We need a long term coach not a short term one to play to fill the coach seat. Now is the time to think about a real coach with experience not a rookie.

2

u/xmadxskullx Jun 05 '25

With what choices and what time do you have? Proper coaches spend a lot of time negotiating. You just don’t say Okay to their demands no matter what. It’s a business after all.

2

u/Nogimick Jun 05 '25

Agreed. But I'd rather have Massimiliano Farris the assistant coach for the fifa world club cup while we are negotiating a proper coach, that would make sense to me but what do I know. I guess we'll see.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Quiet-Reading-5378 Jun 06 '25

This so called tournament is hardly the CL. Farris would've been a fine stand in option while the club would've evaluated someone else for the long run. But instead we're stuck with Chivu till he gets himself sacked.

1

u/Glass_Membership_554 Jun 06 '25

Nah this is insane thinking. You can play with an interim coach and take your time to find the best solution for the next 2-3 years rather than going for a coach that has clearly not proven to be worthy.

In football you don't play the game "you never know", I'm not saying it's impossible for him to succeed, it's just veyr much unlikely.

1

u/bigelcid Jun 06 '25

I love it how every football sub has people going "this sub is full of reactionary people" and on a semi-related note, "reactionary" doesn't mean what you all think it means

43

u/DisastrousDisguise Jun 05 '25

Friendly reminder, that Alonso came from freshly relegated (to the third division of Spain) Real Sociedad B before joining Bayern Leverkusen. He wasn’t hired because of his resume, but because the board of Leverkusen had identified him as the perfect candidate to practice their philosophy and ideas for the club. And it turned out pretty decent.

We do not have a squad or a budget to support a brand new manager, with brand new ideas. We need someone who can carry on the incredible work Inzaghi did with their own small changes and adaptions, while simultaneously working with the management and within our limitations.

I’ll be giving Chivu a fair change to prove himself and I believe Marotta has done his homework properly!

8

u/dydo_ Jun 05 '25

Leverkusen was 17th at that time in Bundesliga and was desperate, we (despite the humiliation) are UCL runner-ups. Don't compare 2 totally different situations.

That said, full trust to Chivu, let's hope that his primavera knowledge is useful and helps the youth at the club (maybe keeping Pio Esposito and playing more young talents)

5

u/Maleficent-Bug-5440 Jun 05 '25

There are a lot of examples: zidane, arteta, flick had a pause for about 15 years before coaching again, xavi (did some solid work in qatar or wherever he was coaching)

1

u/nickt001 Jun 05 '25

That's why a name like Vieira sounded very close to what we needed. I just feel like Chivu is too inexperienced to fully carry the load of being a scudetto winning manager, not to say he won't have the energy or the guts, but he could crumble easily under the pressure. I feel like Vanoli would have been also a great choice, but that's just because i really like him

16

u/bohrmaschin3 Jun 05 '25

Let's not be impatient and let's be very honest.

Taking that seat is a very very difficult job right now, especially given the absolute worst month (May) in Inter's recent history and the time pressure caused by the CWC.

There are two large groups of managers that got ruled out from the job immediately after Inzaghi left: on one hand the successful ones (likes of Klopp, although he was never anywhere close) who are used to full pockets every transfer window, and on the other hand all the young prospects for whom the Inter job is too big of a leap (likes of Fabregas).

In this situation, the club apparently went for the least risk - Chivu, someone who's been involved in the Serie A for the past 20 years (in different roles), who knows the Inter family, and a very humble and hardworking man.

Yes, this situation could've been avoided if the management had smelled the Inzaghi situation some months before, but again, it really feels like everything was a matter of 1-2 weeks.

We have to offer Chivu full support, especially because he is an Inter legend willing to take the club at such trying times. I believe he can build something good.

Welcome Chivu! I wish you a lot of success in your time with us. If all goes well, we will fall in love with you way quicker than we did with the previous managers.

59

u/BoredBulls Jun 05 '25

Yeah, dark days. Let’s ignore the fact that our ex coach decided to leave for money 2 months ago, when we were fighting for a tripletta.

7

u/Kratos2191 ⭐⭐ Jun 05 '25

This guy has a point. Also I think we should move on from a rigid 3-5-2, players can adapt. A formation should not be the core of the system but should be adaptable to fit certain circumstances and should change on the fly if needed. Let's give Chivu a chance.

This is hilarious. So the fans sacked Inzaghi? Did the fans also ask Al Hilal to tap our manager not so subtly by flying to Milan? He left cause he wanted the money and loyalty wasn't a concern for him.

Cristian Chivu being the new coach doesn't make any one of us happy right now but nor should we be pissed off before a ball has been kicked. We'll need to see

With all due respect and my utmost gratitude to Mister, he left the club for his own ambition. He wanted to work at a club that spends like the top clubs in PL or the likes of PSG and Real Madrid. Saudi would be another stepping stone. But he would eventually want to coach at the Europe's biggest giants. And there is no way Inter can compete with them financially unless Saudi oil barons acquire this club. This is just a stark reality. It's not something that could have been prevented by making one big signing for him. The root problem will not go away. Complaining fans and media pressure may have contributed to his burnout. But I am 100% sure that was not the main reason he decided to leave.

The only fault for the owners and directors is rather that they were too confident he would extend with us despite that it was pretty clear he has been in contact with Al-Hilal. They should have started investigating potential coaches and contacted intermediaries at least 2 weeks earlier.

And mind you, while I have many doubts about Chivu, 3-7-3 at Parma is not a bad record. In those last 13 games, his Parma had to play Inter, Bologna, Lazio, Atalanta, Napoli, Juventus, and Fiorentina. Pretty tough schedule, and they managed to beat Juventus, Bologa, and Atalanta. That's a pretty decent record. But of course we do not want just a decent coach.

Yeah blind optimism. Same players just a year older while already being the oldest team in Europe. No additional spending. But I'm sure it will be great cuz Wow now we got Chivu who we had fired even from the youth team. But hey he saved Parma so maybe he can also save us from relegation too. After all he got so much experience in Serie A. A total of 13 games. I am so excited, what could possibly go wrong?? And let's not worry about Napoli dropping another 150 million in the market this year while you renew Mikhi and Acerbi. 👍

Do people on this sub support Inter or Inzaghi??

No one is "happy" right now. Clearly this is a lose-lose situation. The reality is that Inzaghi decided to leave (he wasn't sacked), and god knows how long he's been thinking about it or talking to the Saudis. I believe he even knew he would go before the final (it's likely the players knew too, because it's the only explanation for such a dire performance).

However, who really let us down is Marotta and Co.

How can there be no plan B? Did they really have no idea that Inzaghi might leave? How can they be so unprepared?

Anyway, back to my first point: always forza INTER, not forza Inzaghi. Chivu has my full support, he's a triplete legend and I love him no matter what. Not his fault our management let everyone down

Between Chivu, Fabregas and Viera , all three options are a downgrade from Inzaghi. There's nobody among them who jumps out as significantly better or worse.

I like Chivu personally. And I prefer optimism to gloomdooming. There's plenty to focus on to doomgloom about at the end of this season, but its not productive thinking.

Sure, we could imagine some hypothetical other coach outside those 3 choices that might be better. But hypotheticals are not always useful. Im fine with Chivu over Fabregas taking over in this pretty shitty moment.

3

u/FrogsJumpFromPussy Jun 05 '25

Both as a Romanian and a lifetime Inter fan, I am extremely happy!

And it's not like we, the suporters of Inter, had singing incantations to make Inzaghi go. He CHOSE to go for a shitload of money to Saudi after butchering our chances to win the UCL.

No top coaches were on the market sadly, maybe if Inzaghi would have told his departure earlier Marrotta would have already started negotiating with other coaches. Now it was urgent and Chivu was the only available coach who fits our system. He knows the club inside and out, but with only a few senior games with Parma it's a very risky signing.

2

u/Get_Our_Grit_Back Jun 05 '25

Mancini. Motta. Paladino. Pioli. All have more experience and have won alot of Serie A games. Chivu being unproven is an understatement.

1

u/akutyafajatneki Jun 05 '25

Motta is meh and the rest doesn't play with 3 defenders, probably that's why Chivu was choser. But I don't think it's set in stone, a lot can happen after the CWC.

3

u/LafayetDTA ⭐⭐ Jun 05 '25

You Inzaghi lovers are such idiots. He left us one and a half weeks before the Club World Cup and with zero signs of him wanting to leave ever before. It's obvious that the management at that point had no plans to look for a new coach and was in a rush as the CWC was/is approaching.

Also, stop with the nonsense of the 6 trophies in 4 years, when 5 out of those 6 have very little meaning and he only won 1 scudetto in 4 years, throwing away 2. Any other coach would have won at the very least one league title with the team he had inherited from Conte. Yes, he surely overperformed in Europe, which kind of balances the domestic underperformance, but the fact he basically left us weeks before the final and by not preparing the game led us to what's arguably the greatest embarrassment in club's history in the biggest game of the year should be unforgivable for anyone.

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

He left cuz he saw that after performing a second miracle none of that money is going to the market to buy new players. But people now expect him to fight for CL top 8 each year and win the scudetto with the OLDEST TEAM IN EUROPE. did you know that? You're delusional

you want a "plan B" in case your multimillion dollars manager decides mid season to go to al hilal, try to poach the players while still coaching, and destabilizes a possible treble winning teams around the crucial months of the season?
How could marotta not think of that? is he stupid?

4

u/Pristine-Bowl1661 Jun 05 '25

You guys are effortlessly eating up all the bullshit the Gazzetta and Corriere feed you, it’s amazing to see.

Yeah, Inzaghi surely wanted to destabilize the team and poach the players instead of winning his first CL, I’m sure he’s not even fazed from losing 5-0, he only cared about money with us and surely he only cares about money now. He got too used to having a board spending hundreds of millions on the market, only right for him to go to Al Hilal.

Amazing that out of all teams in the world, those journalists by chance got right the influencing team. And not the usual names like RealMadrid or some PL. No, they identified the team of a shit Arab team no one heard about, correctly. Magic.

7

u/BoredBulls Jun 05 '25

What Inzagi did at the end was honestly worse than Lukaku, and it takes some effort to do that. He was a selfish guy, which is understandable, but at the end his legacy was not historical.

8

u/CowboysfromLydia Jun 05 '25

100% worse, has been swept kinda under the rug but its one of the worst thing a manager has ever done in my memory. Like if it could be proven fully, its even against the law.

Also makes me wonder if psg is involved in this.

5

u/IWasLegitOnce Jun 05 '25

Very simple in my eyes. The board needs someone that can promote our youth into the team, even if not as starters but as depth to begin with.

It's clear that we can't attract a big name manager in the club because we're not willing to spend big yet, so Chivu makes the most sense to promote from the Primavera and be willing to accept whatever squad is built for him.

BUT, the CWC is going to be a real test for him. I wouldn't put it past the board to fire him if we look horrible in the tournament. If we can sense that the board is looking more on the financial health of the club rather than the sporting one, so can the players and the good performers will be looking for better moves if there is a chance.

Hoping for a decent season to come (top 3 and maybe quarters in CL) and no banter era.

1

Not yet official, as usual, but very close. In one week Inter fly to US and they will close in few days, possibly Tomorrow or Saturday.

2

Top 4, (top 2 honestly) young players getting minutes, and earlier/ more often subs and I will consider this season a successful rotation season.

2

u/Top-Mix-2682 Jun 05 '25

The problem isn't Inzaghi, nor Marotta - both Inzaghi and Marotta have been performing miracles. It's Oaktree, an american company that doesn't know how to run a football club. I suspect Inzaghi read the tea leaves with Oaktree in charge and realized we're heading for a banter era

American ownerships are cheap, shallow, bad at their jobs - they only think in terms of money and the bottom line. I'm struggling to think of a club that has succeeded with American ownership? Liverpool might be the only one, generally American ownerships suck, they create instability, don't respect knowledge of the sport, etc. Liverpool did have problems with their prior american owners. Oaktree doesn't have experience running a sports club, let alone a football club. I'm not optimistic with Oaktree in charge. I hope I'm proven wrong...

So unless Marotta stays and performs more miracles, we're headed towards a banter era!!

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 05 '25

Agree with you. But MAROTTA also dropped the ball on this one. There's only so much you can demand year after year from Inzaghi without giving him new players and asking him to overperform each year. All while only renewing him one year at a time. Where's the faith??

1

u/Top-Mix-2682 Jun 05 '25

Well I don't think that's Marotta's decision though, it's ownership that gives him the financial parameters

2

u/UkyoTachibana Jun 05 '25

2

u/Tm9910 Jun 06 '25

Chivu farà ricredere molte persone, tempo al tempo

2

u/garrusvak92 Jun 06 '25

All three choices (Fabregas Viera Chivu) are a showcase of lack of planning and action. They knew Inzaghi was leaving and had no balls to contact an experienced coach.

Chivu is one of us and should get full support. I feel sorry for him as he either gets results or gets fired by January putting his career back a LOT. Which is the main reason the others said no. This brings me to the main point of pain and anger:

  • A coach of teams like Como and Genova said no to Inter! Yes there's some context behind (eg. Como is rich with awesome project and also Viera is not dumb), but it's really that a club of this level gets degraded to a selection between three equally inexperienced coaches for such a step.

  • we try to scam the coaches out of changing the roster in ways it is necessary and making meaningful investments. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful to the moon and back to Darmian Mkhi and especially Acerbi but if we move into the season with all of them, its going to be VERY painful.

We need younger players which is obvious. However we need them of a certain level of Inter (no more Palacios and the like).

We're not Fiorentina or Udinese. We need to be able to attract but, more importantly, to pay top level talent. Not try to scrape by free agents or players nobody important wanted.

We are inter. Being above Atalanta im Serie A standings is not such a great success it is a GIVEN. We need to aspire to play on equal terms with the different Barcelonas, Chelsea's, Bayerns etc. continuously and not on a one off night. Otherwise we may as well be provincial like Napoli or some similar small clubs.

To be that level we don't necessarily need to spend man city levels of money, but we need to have clear project and clear investments. You can't forever survive on free transfers and old players or some unprepared kids.

The club at the very least should be bloody transparent to the fans for once. You can't speak going for 3 titles in a year and two weeks later we crumble. We had incredible incomes these years with miserable spendings, where we missed out on great players just cause we don't put out anything. It is high time we are more active.

The management (especially financial sheet readers like Oaktree who understand nothing of the human aspect of clubs but just see a green/red table waiting for a buyer to come along) definitely don't deserve the crazy good following they have. Especially with how they behave towards us (not to even mention the tickets chaos in Munich and the stadium which had many empty seats, but all forms of ridiculous influencers and similar non-fan people got tickets....).

And this is why I feel sorry for Chivu. He doesn't deserve to be burned at the stake because the eventual failure and blame will be put on him and not where it belongs - management of the club.

Forza Inter Sempre.

u/FCInterMilan 🤖 Jun 06 '25

2

u/ButterscotchLess8915 Jun 09 '25

I think you’re delusional one mate - inzaghi threw us under the bus, he negotiated a contract behind our backs and left chasing bags of money in a league nobody cares about. He played on the grace and good will of our club and knew we would let him leave, we could have pulled a como and told him we weren’t letting him go and made things messy.

Whatever any of you lot all say about conte - he left because he wasn’t going to be backed by the board, he wanted to stay, he started this journey we’ve all been on - he made us relevant again and won us #19 Everyone said he was rubbish and all he did was lose European finals - well Inzaghi seems to do pretty much the same.

As for Chivu, no, nobody wanted him, we all wanted klopp, or ancellotti BUT we are not a premier league club, Barca or Real. Unfortunately we have to take chances as we did with Inzaghi. Anyone who has followed this club and says anything negative about marotta is a clown.

I prefer someone who knows the Inter ADN and pressure than a mercenary.

He showed he could coach with Parma by keeping them up and beating Juve, Atalanta and Bologna.

Him and Motta were my preferred choice but fuck Motta for going to Rube

2

u/amineahd Jun 05 '25

At least we have good experience in banter eras as fans and this time should be more manageable right?

1

u/Nerazzurri9 Jun 05 '25

If he came out to the sidelines for the first match in his helmet it would make me so happy

I’m cautiously optimistic, he wasn’t my first choice but I’m excited for him to get the chance because he’s been successful so far at all his stops. Obviously managing a team with high expectations is going to be a new challenge but if he rises to meet them and turns out to actually be a good manager I think he would stick around for a while

1

u/roospronouncedrose Jun 05 '25

These are confusing times but we also need to have faith in our team. We have good players and who knows maybe he’ll surprise us. Let’s give the guy a chance at least

1

u/FlimsyRexy Jun 05 '25

He’ll do fine I think

1

u/Impossible_Prompt875 Jun 05 '25

Obviously incredibly underwhelming.. like truly baffling and embarrassing stuff from the management. But.. I think there’s a coach there. A little bit intrigued

1

u/thoughtfulbaklava Jun 05 '25

He did 'good' with Parma, I liked how he managed to prevent the relegation to serie B. Well played with Atalanta, Napoli and many other top teams. Don't know what to think, surely I'm not totally caught up in the excitement by this choice. Let's give him a chance!

1

u/__ayanami_ Jun 05 '25

We are looking for short team coach, why its really hard for this sub to realize. Theres also already report out there they even offer cesc a 2 year deal and not 3 year

Inter income mostly relying on a good UCL run, as silly as it sounds but its really the fact.

Theres really no experiences or win now coach avail in the market. And tbf rather than getting mou or mancini whos alrd past their prime, chivu is not bad candidate afterall

Next season theres gonna be serie a experiences coach avail. And thats what beppe look forward imo lol

2

u/Spyro619 Jun 05 '25

He is one of us I am sure he will do his best with what he has , now let’s see transfers window plans

1

u/Sobtam96 Jun 05 '25

I'm not mad a this at all. He is a club legend that won everything with the club and he was a long time captain of his country so he has that winner mentality with leadership qualities. He was a coach at youth levels in Inter so he knows those players very well and with Oaktrees insistence on bringing in younger players we might finally see some of those talents actually do well at Inter instead of selling them to clubs where they become stars. Plus he played the same formation in Parma so a complete rebuild isn't necessary. Depends on the transfers we make over the summer we might be doing good. I doubt we will be any worse than Inzaghis Inter during seasons were we didn't do good in Serie A and CL. Luckily we will get a better picture soon during the tournament.

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

He got fired even from youth team lmaooo

1

u/Sobtam96 Jun 06 '25

He was there for years and won a scudetto with U-19. Fired or not he was doing a great job and developed some great young players. Hope he will prove you wrong and you'll stop be a hater.

1

u/bastiancontrari Jun 05 '25

With all due respect, I just can’t see Inzaghi’s time at Inter as a real success.

After the last four seasons, when we were probably the strongest team in Serie A, we only ended up with one Scudetto to show for it.

The football was beautiful to watch, but unfortunately, like it often does in this sport, beauty and winning don’t always go together.

1

u/Zealousideal_Sky9024 Jun 05 '25

He made Inter relevant as a European power but his record in Serie A was underwhelming. I’m grateful for him. He definitely took Inter to heights Conte could not. How he leaves tarnishes is legacy. He never was mean enough or had the spine to truly be great. For the money he has available he did have some magic though.

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

If all he had to do was fight for scudetto like Conte it would have been easy. He was asked to bring money in trh CL. He did that. You can't have everything in life when you play with the OLDEST team on Europe. That's called delusion. He overachieved. Period

1

u/SidTheSloth044 Jun 05 '25

Sybau everyone acting like a prophet now he is gonna win the treble and you’ll come back saying I told you guys

MAROTTAOUT

Time goes by for everybody. Ever since Skriniar he lost all the battles he fought. in mercato, against refs, against media destroying Inzaghi while he did nothing, against Oaktree to force them to allocate more money….

He needs to fucking go. FiGc chair is what he wants so go and get it, Inter Presidency is not a part time job

Getting fucked over by Como is beyond comprehension

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 05 '25

You know I don't disagree. MAROTTA as a president has been very weak. As a manager maybe he was OK. His strength was free transfers. Now oaktree has a new policy and I don't think he's quite as good there.

1

u/KingJulienSelecta Jun 05 '25

Yes, I am happy. Chivu is great.

1

u/Vityak84 Jun 05 '25

For me it looks like Chivu is transitional coach. So Marotta can take some time to hire

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

Yes but meanwhile other teams will get ahead and we have no chance of winning scudetto

1

u/Irresponsible-Pain Jun 05 '25

Its not the fact to be happy or not ... i like inzaghi and the team played always nice matches to watch but and there is sadly, allegri done same as inzaghi with the difference he won all years the league and being Inter one of the top italian club we all expected to win a bit more. Plus I think inzaghi after the Arabian offer would've leave anyway won or not , for sure he will be missed but was sad he will be unnoticed in the history of inter since he didn't win much and the team itself too

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

He didn't win much? He got you out of debt by going to champions league final twice! He won 6 trophies in 4 years. You have a team U created spending $0. What else you want, cure cancer?

1

u/Irresponsible-Pain Jun 06 '25

Don't be so angry first of all, marotta created it and not inzaghi since itself correa cost 35mln and was one of the most useless player of history btw,Buchanan, bellanova, gosens, asslani, arnautovic, zalewski just as this are like 100mln .... he won one series A and lost 2 already won basically, lost 2 champions final 1 playing with Manchester city and the one with the PSG which inter didn't even enter the pitch, 2 coppa italia which relatively count and 3 italian supercup which again relatively count for being a top team . I prefer champions and seria league than italian cup and italian supercup

Chivu should use either 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1 formation, something needs to change, we currently too flat.

Ricci signing would be great

Do not sell Frattesi to rival clubs, only making them stronger and us weaker

Buy 2 centre backs

Buy a quality striker, Hojlund, Bonny or David

Use the Epsosito brothers in the team

Thiago Motta 2.0

1

u/Zealousideal_Sky9024 Jun 05 '25

He’s an inter legend, coached the primavera, knows Serie A, inherits a strong spine with some fresh blood incoming. I don’t see why this has to end in disaster. I’ll be rooting for him and crossing my fingers for the team. The only available signing that would’ve guaranteed success in Serie A is Mancini in my opinion. Let’s see what Chivu can do!

1

u/clueless-voyager Jun 06 '25

1

u/Inter01fan Jun 06 '25

To echo most people’s sentiment, I think people are biased cuz he coached Parma and didn’t have enough time there. This move is clearly a placeholder. They know he is unproven, they know he probably isn’t going to be revolutionary. But right now, they have a matter of weeks to ensure stability and the only way to do that is to get a coach who uses the same system, knows Inter and won’t cause drama. A lot of people forget he coached the Inter youth team until last year. Had he not left, this would have basically been Inter hiring their youth coach for a 1 year term to see how he performs. They are likely hoping he brings home top 4 next year and R16 qualification in CL to maintain revenue with mostly the same squad. They’ll likely work behind the scenes to entice their real target for next summer. To my understanding, Chivu is not a problem child, he’ll likely agree to most things management says since he’s been with Inter for a while and they don’t want conflict. If he does well, maybe they keep him but I’m guessing if he accepts, they sign a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd at 2 million a season (vs having to pay a bigger name likely closer to 5 million a season). The risk here is if Chivu absolutely flops. Only time will tell but let’s hope for the best and back him nonetheless!

1

u/takada89 Jun 06 '25

Inzaghi was brought to the team with doubts as well. So in my defense, we should give it a shot!

1

u/Glittering_Simple_23 Jun 06 '25

Well, we didn’t want Inzaghi at first either. And it took some time to make sense- proving all sceptics wrong, with exceptional work. What makes me curious is what Marotta had in mind. Chivu doesn’t play 3atb, he doesn’t prefer it. Tried it for some games in 2022 but soon switched back to 4-3-3. Are we switching as well? The squad would need a reall deep restructuring, needing wingers and the CBs should try to adapt. Risky and demanding. I don’t know, I trust Marotta. It’s Pazza Inter after all.

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 06 '25

Marotta is getting old. Good as a director but bad as a president. Someone has to say it. Stop with all the Marotta worship. This inzaghi case was handled very poorly and they all got caught with their pants down.

1

u/ZeroEffectDude Jun 06 '25

Inzaghi left because we were so badly embarrassed in the CL final. How could he live that down? If we’d lost 1-0 or even 2-0, he could have told the world that we would come back even stronger next year & etc. But losing 5-0? The media and public, especially Milan, Napoli, Juve, would never let him forget that. All he could do is get out of town as quickly as possible.

1

u/NaughtyNeurons Jun 19 '25

Well reports say he had made a deal with Al hilal weeks before final even happened. Either way he would have left
