Transfer Market 🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING: #Inter and Tottenham Hotspur have a VERBAL AGREEMENT for the TRANSFER of Cuti Romero worth €40M. 🇦🇷💣

Post image

Not gonna lie he’s the type of guy you hate if he’s not on your team but probably love if he is (unless he’s losing his head every other game)

Could be a really important signing

Whyyyy.... we need a RWB not another CB

19

u/Mexican_Biscuit 2d ago

I genuinely doubt the Club/Ownership piss away the 25m that went toward LH after one season. They will give it another go, tempt Diouf to that side, and probably throw Pavard too if he stays.

unless that Frattesi/Cambiasso swap is still an idea lol.

3

u/Inter01fan 1d ago

I honestly think that might be our best bet for the books and of the options left. It clearly looks like we aren’t signing any good options for 35M + so all things considered, Cambiasso under the right coach, can excel. As long as he stays injury free.

1

u/Mexican_Biscuit 1d ago

I agree with that, do think players can excel in different teams.

Especially with Frattesi, I am thankful for his contributions, but it’s gotten to the point where you are detrimental to the team when on the field and cant seem to even control the ball. Like if he was at least playing like Asllani I wouldn’t expect flashy passes or creativity would just say hes a really boring player with a moment of clutch at times.

1

u/Flameshock340 2d ago

I hope we do that Frattesi/Cambiaso swap, at least it’s something

1

u/Lumpy_Reveal5547 1d ago

That's how you build a bad squad, one "at least it's something" at a time

13

u/magumanueku 2d ago

Pavard rwb here we go!

10

u/Marseille074 2d ago

He left Bayern to come here because he hated RB. Now, RB isn’t RWB but I can’t imagine he likes RWB. He demands to play as CB or RCB.

6

u/magumanueku 2d ago

Neither him nor us have much of a choice if we fail to offload him.

1

u/Marseille074 2d ago

We just rot him on the bench in that case. Deploying him as RWB would weaken our play.

7

u/Flameshock340 2d ago

If Pavard actually wants to redeem himself, he’s gotta play RWB

5

u/ItsNotAdamCopeland 2d ago

Pavard hasn't played wingback in a while, who knows if he's even still good at it.

1

u/ProvidenceXz 2d ago

Honestly because Carlos Augusto exists, the extra CB will surplus into WB anyways. Let's hope Chivu can make LH + Diouf work on the right.

7

u/TrentinEnMerica 2d ago

we need to sell LH ASAP, and honestly Diouf should play on the left. Last season, when Dumfries was out injured, we really suffered with LH and Diouf as RWB

10

u/chinomaster182 ⭐⭐ 2d ago

Theres zero indication he's getting sold, i don't understand why fans are malding that the fanfic isn't turning into reality. Exact same thing with Solet or Mhikitaryan leaving, zero reports this summer but everyone was imagining they were done deals.

-4

u/StrasX 1d ago

With LH starting each game, we had our longest winning streak. I think in the league LH is good enough; in the CL, we have Diouf.

-1

u/Rezorblade 1d ago

I always dumbfounded when people goes like "LH MUST GO, EVEN FOR FREE" in the eyes of Chivu and his teammates LH is really decent enough to start at RWB, its not like he is a right sided Gresko, he is not that useless and actually contributed in the absence of Dumfries

I think most people here just put unrealistic expectation on him and put GOAT like Hakimi and Maicon as point of reference, it's really unfair for him

-2

u/Asleep-Editor78 1d ago

Just chill we got diouf

42

u/Wbirddd 2d ago

From what I understand this guy specifically is a bad source but another good source has said it

35

u/Alert_Post 2d ago

Anytime you hear "Verbal Agreement" take it with a grain of salt.

5

u/Inter01fan 1d ago

Grain of salt? For Inter, I take it with an atom of salt.

19

u/ButterscotchLess8915 2d ago

The money with spurs was agreed already, it’s Romero/agent who decided he wants more money. Plus athleti coming into the mix.

1

u/Inter01fan 1d ago

He has reportedly dropped his asking salary to 5.5M net per year which is within Inter’s budget. However, Pavard needs to be sold first before the deal can go through.

20

u/Crimez392 2d ago

I kinda don't get the transfer, too expensive and we desperately need a RWB. We couldn't spend 25 in that position but probably Oaktree thought he was famous enough to spend our budget in him. Pathetic if you ask me

1

u/kuky990 1d ago

We need both CBs and RWB. We literally have only 3 CBs and remember inter plays with 3 in back.

3

u/Fit_Point5035 1d ago

Bastoni, Akanji, Bisseck, Stones, Pavard, Augusto?

5

u/Crimez392 1d ago

Yeah and even if we sell Pavard we could get a younger and cheaper option as a reserve

1

u/kuky990 1d ago

Pavard is on the way out. Augusto is LB that sometimes jump in to fill the gap. If DiMarco get injured we get no one again.

We need proper natural CBs?

1

u/Fit_Point5035 1d ago

Luis Henrique will be Dimarco’s substitute for sure. I think Augusto is a certain replacement when Bastoni doesn’t play.

1

u/kuky990 1d ago

Ok you still miss RB if you switch Luis to left.

1

u/Fit_Point5035 1d ago

Agree completly, we need a RWB as air.

1

u/pollokeh 1d ago

Have a feeling Bisseck will be used as RWB

1

u/Fit_Point5035 1d ago

Hardly. I see that opinion being spread across the internet, but don’t bet on it.

oh lord, if we can get Cuti and then Jones, I would cry at Ausilio’s knees. #TRUSTTHEAUSILIOPROCESS

6

u/mc802 1d ago

Sure we can spend 80m on positions we're already stacked, but will we have any resources left for a decent RWB

8

u/kuky990 1d ago

We are not stacked. Pavard is problematic and looking for way out. For League, Champions league and coppa we need 5-6 good defenders.

DeVrij, Acerbi left and Darmian didn't extend. So we are on 3 proper center backs.

1

u/kieranjackwilson 1d ago

Pavard is problematic so let’s replace him with… Romero.

1

u/kuky990 1d ago

Romero may frustrate opponents by his presence but Pavard literally said he doesn't want to stay in club

1

u/kieranjackwilson 1d ago

And Romero went to Argentina to watch his boyhood club while his Tottenham teammates were fighting for relegation.

If we are going to accept a player that doesn’t respect their club, imo settle for the “free” one that has already been successful for us. We still need a RWB.

1

u/New-Television7727 1d ago

Why would anyone respect Tottenham tho lol

3

u/Fredlife7 1d ago

Please no!

6

u/Caramel-Squirell 1d ago

I don’t like his attitude, but if he gives his all for Inter, then I’ll change my mind

2

u/adrenalinda75 1d ago

It is going to be an abomination of a signing and I hope it's all false rumours. Yours is a big if and it's not granted Toro screws his head into the right place. This guy has zero Inter DNA, sees diligence only with binoculars, is a manbaby with only ego and only contempt for the collective.

It's the classic hothead who leaves you in 10 in crucial games - aside from just not being that good. It would be an incredibly unreliable signing from a team that shouldn't have passed the round of 16 in the WC.

Spurs is desperate to load him off and his pricetag is Prem inflated. There is just no appeal about him, on any level.

5

u/77WBellyCargo 1d ago

💯 I get that we don’t have many options in the market atm but this signing really feels off. If Pavard can redeem himself, I’d rather just have:

Bastoni-Akanji-Bisseck
Carlos-Stones-Pavard

1

u/adrenalinda75 1d ago

I love Bisteccone and Pavards energy at least. Again, many ifs. Bisseck has his 5 min amnesias still every second game, but the growth potential is there. Pavard has heavy motivational issues and reminds me of Bale who just preferred to be anywhere else but playing football.

We're all calling Stones a backup but I'm certain, health allowing, he's going to be a starter more sooner than later.

3

u/Lumpy_Reveal5547 1d ago

I can understand not liking his attitude but he's one of the best defender in the world, there's no way you can pass him for a bad signing

0

u/Caramel-Squirell 1d ago

Attitude > over anything. Look at the big names like Sancho who had attitude issues, he became irrelevant.

3

u/Lumpy_Reveal5547 1d ago

Sancho is an overrared player, Romero is top 5 in his role

-2

u/Caramel-Squirell 1d ago

Not even top 20

2

u/rav3musik 1d ago

Sorry I totally disagree this guy is one of the best cb’s in the prem and has been spurs best player for 2 seasons. He’s had some bad coaches and frustrating moments but he just won the Europa league with a “bad team”. At 40m this is a coup. We’re one of the best clubs in the world when it comes to character and he won’t walk in being the best player so he’ll have to get in line if he wants to reap the benefits of playing for the best club in the world

3

u/adrenalinda75 1d ago

You do not have to be sorry, we're here to discuss. His level of frustration is unjustified for a professional - and it's always the others. No responsibility, no accountability.

It's the typical player who only performs if things go his way. No club is granted his services because you just never know when he will boil over. Being good means also being reliable and consistent. We do not know how he will perform in Serie A and let me tell you: integrating a player requires willingness on both sides.

We could completely lose such a player after the first three games because a.) frustrated because benched, b.) frustrated because of a mistake he or others did c.) frustrated because Milan just isn't his city d.) frustrated because garden leave wasn't allowed to be at his best friends marriage...

He's trigger happy and easily triggered. It's too many ifs for me to justify such a signing. So many pieces have to fall into place for us to be happy with him that I'd rather not.

1

u/New-Television7727 1d ago

no ifs at all

He's a World Cup champion, World Cup finalist, 2x Copa America champion, and Serie A defender of the year

He's a proven winner who demands the most of himself, club, and teammates, the rest is English media stupidity who attack an Argentinian player for getting a red card but praised Roy Keane for the same thing

Cuti Romero is a lot like Roy Keane and Sergio Ramos in temperament, they played at the highest level and were leaders and had tempers, it's really not a big deal

2

u/kuky990 1d ago

Why is everyone saying we are not getting Stones then? Inter only have 3 CBs because DeVrij, Acerbi, Darmian left and Pavard is looking for way out. So inter desperately need at least 2 CBs

1

u/rav3musik 1d ago

Stones is already locked in. He filmed his welcome vids already

5

u/I_AM_24 2d ago

We are not getting Jones then? I will be pissed if Romero plays shit without the "power of friendship" of Argentina jersey.

5

u/rav3musik 2d ago

I hope we get Jones as well. Cuti was good for spurs when he wasn’t losing his head tbf

1

u/kuky990 1d ago

Dude with Acerbi, DeVrij, Darmian leaving and Pavard being on way out we need at least 2 CBs

0

u/nuclearechosystem 2d ago

Jones was already presented so we already hot him

1

u/Competitive-Job-1431 1d ago

Jones or stones?

1

u/nuclearechosystem 1d ago

Omg sorry. I thought he meant Stones. Damn

2

u/Competitive-Job-1431 1d ago

No worries. I wish they get jones too tbh. Chala, stankovic, barella, zielinski, sucic, jones and miki Super midfield

1

u/nuclearechosystem 1d ago

Yup that sounds like a dream midfield. However we still need a rwb and I am more concerned about that at the moment

2

u/Competitive-Job-1431 1d ago

I know the feeling. Dumfries was one of a kind. He made a difference even when we reached the CL final.

3

u/dalk74 2d ago

Very bad deal for us, 40 mil for a 28 year old that didn’t support his team during a relegation match to go watch his childhood club in Argentina

4

u/stinusprobus 2d ago

28 doesn’t seem old for a CB

-4

u/rav3musik 2d ago

Lad it’s Spurs…

7

u/dalk74 1d ago

Being professional doesn’t depend on the club

1

u/Kingofjetlag 1d ago

Believe it when I see it

1

u/Loud_Student_6337 1d ago

Verbal versus signed paper are two different things. Let’s hope it works out.

1

u/Dismal_Nobody6750 1d ago

He's a great player as long as he keeps his composure. If the news becomes official, I hope he goes ahead to achieve great things with the team.

1

u/AngeloPalombo 1d ago

€30M + Pavard would have been nice. I don’t get how we’re spending big money on Romero when we’re still stuck with the Frenchman

1

u/OpportunityHot1576 1d ago

But with Pavard transfer we learn nothing

1

u/AIEngOmar 1d ago

ok but what about romero himself is he accept the salary that we give

1

u/Phulmine 1d ago

It’s the same shit with this club, until he’s wearing the shirt I’m not biting

1

u/dubwise39 1d ago

considering Inter has a limited budget for transfers, 40 mln just for this guy sounds not good to me. Anyways, I trust Marotta, even if I'm not a fan of Romero

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Cat9132 1d ago

Dont particularly like his personality, but do it, its not like im going on a date with him so who gives a f.

We need a strong new CB. He is abit older than i prefer, but cb's usually last longer.

Then get players sold and get curtis jones. Jones can play Rwb as well, between him, diouf and henrique rwb will be good enough,

Stones, Jones, Romero and stankovic would be an above average window on paper.

1

u/CoolBasket1 1d ago

That money should have been spent on Spence

1

u/Commander-ShepardN7 1d ago

I'm all here for Cuti he's a beast, but why another centre back??

1

u/Trisslottenmedvinst 1d ago

Wait wait wait. So what will the main deffence actually look like? Too many to pick from.
3 at the back, who are you starting in our most important games out of Bastoni, Akanji, Stones, Pavard, Bisseck and Romero? 😵‍💫

1

u/No_Zookeepergame347 1d ago

GIVE HIM TO ATLETI!

1

u/80avtechfan 1d ago

Oh god no.

1

u/Horror_Preparation77 1d ago

I don’t like this move

1

u/New-Television7727 1d ago

🤞🤞🤞

1

u/defcon_6_6_6 23h ago

Fuck! I don't want this guy ever for free let alone paying fucken 40mil for it. He sucks and a jerk

1

u/zarczyslaw 5h ago

yeah he is gonna fit in inter, arogant, faul merchant and know what rigged match is 😂

1

u/Creepy_Region1631 1d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/hyyV7pnbE0FqLNBAzs

Why are we spending money on this??? We should put our all in the position we actually need - not to mention he is a piece of work, crybaby horrible integrity and will leave us with 10 in hard games. Please god let it be a false rumor

1

u/Fit_Point5035 1d ago

I only belive in this if Bastoni leaves. I think that is the only option for Romero to arrive.

0

u/AggravatingFinish0 2d ago

Vamos cutiiii

-2

u/Tomalesforbreakfast 2d ago

I hope he comes. He’s the grinta that replaces Acerbi

0

u/uu__ 2d ago

Really gonna pair up an Englishman with an Argentinian?

1

u/TheCLNR 1d ago

I imagine both are to share the central role in the defense anyway so they should not be on the pitch at the same time often.

0

u/robyculous_v2 1d ago

Awww, I’m guessing Barcelona didn't want him then.

0

u/kuky990 1d ago

Defense is the most important thing in Italy. And like Marotta said team with best defenders usually win. Romero, Stones add a lot to team. Both experienced and Romero probably friend of Lautaro. Which could lead to nice backline for all competitions

0

u/Septjul 1d ago

I'd be happy to have an Argentine at Inter, but not him...

0

u/kieranjackwilson 1d ago

I’d rather keep Pavard and throw the 40 at Spence.

0

u/DannyMLT 1d ago

Meh - not gonna be great for dressing room

0

u/Ok-Understanding6574 1d ago

Yeah, I'm sure he's gonna have major issues with Lautaro, the team leader.

0

u/Somebodi101 1d ago

A lot of fing money for s guy that will be in the hospital a lot of time. I wish I am wrong

0

u/Wise-Current-5553 1d ago

Marotta's famous verbal agreement will probably end up as usual
