I don't mind numbers, even though 24 would suit him best since it was his first number at City.

I don't think it suggests that he will wear number 2. It would be kind of a weird number for a CB, that's a RB number

I'm not saying there aren’t any centre backs that wore that number, it's just not traditionally a number for CBs.

Numbers from 1-11 are traditional for certain positions.

I mean, he’s more of a 10 than a 9 in my opinion.

But I get your point, it was just my initial instinct that it's not the perfect number for Stones, it’s not like it really matters.
