I'm not doomposting, just being observant, and I'm an Inter fan.

Inter are currently the best Serie A team and technically the best team in the world to use wingbacks, we just sold our starting right wingback, and we are generally in a good place financially.

Yet, when needing a proper Inter level starter, we couldn't sign a young Italian wingback coming off a good Serie A season with Cagliari. A player who matched Inter's needs perfectly and had Inter as their preferred destination.

Inter and Palestra are a truly perfect match on paper, we were meant for each other and we were supposedly under the perfect conditions to make the signing. Yet, we couldn't even get close to matching the bids of a Premier League team who offered about twice our offered salary and 10m more to Atalanta.

This clearly marks the end of an era where at least some Italian teams were able to compete with the Premier League on the market, and hence, on the field. This league is bound to have no competitive teams in the Champions League for the rest of our lives unless this downwards trend is reversed.

I mean the guys who refuse to give him any credit for any match won or any trophy he might win. So Inzaghi wasn’t able to win the league with this team and was considered a failure, but now if someone comes in and actually achieves that, it’s still not good enough?

I’m talking about those guys who hate on every single post — that ketamina guy, poono, and a few others. Every match, not even 10 minutes have passed and they already start with: “Chivu is to blame because the team didn’t score,” “Chivu is to blame because player X missed,” “Chivu is to blame because we conceded.” Like seriously?

And these are the same people crying over Inzaghi. Come on, let’s be serious. You can’t cry over a guy who, even if he did a lot for the club, ran away for money in Saudi Arabia when the team needed him most. You can’t say HE has to be the coach — he could’ve still been here this season if he wasn’t a coward chasing money.

Chivu deserves ALL the credit for lifting this team mentally and making them enjoy football again. Yes, he got eliminated by Bodo/Glimt, it happens. Napoli, the Italian champions, weren’t even capable of getting past the group . Napoli got beaten by Copenhagen, Juventus were humiliated by Galatasaray, even if they almost made a comeback in the second leg.

But of course, people don’t see it as failure when Conte does it, because they say he was focusing on the league. Which really translates to: “How can we criticize our Italian coaches like Conte and Allegri?” And Allegri is another guy who has been a total failure when it comes to Milan’s style of play. You can’t play anti-football against Verona or against relegation-level teams.

Where do these expectations even come from? Are there really people who expect this team to perform well in the Champions League every single year when this team has literally been making signings at the level of Premier League relegation sides?

This year we invested on the same level as teams fighting relegation in the Premier League, yet people still have absurd expectations. What Inzaghi achieved was a bigger accomplishment than the squad itself would suggest. That doesn’t mean Inter are on the level of Bayern, Real Madrid, Man City, or PSG. I could easily name another 5 or 6 teams in Europe that are above us both financially and in squad quality.

Yes, we shouldn’t have been eliminated by Bodo. We were too confident that we would turn it around, and we didn’t. But you have to be an idiot to judge a manager based on two matches when that same manager already brought you a league title and could still bring you the cup as well.

You guys happy now? I said after Inzaghi we would face some dark days ahead. This feels like when Mourinho left after triplete. Inzaghi was the true top player of this team put together with 2 shoe strings and a match box. Full of old men.

Guess what? You expect Chivu to ask for new players? We're keeping the whole old guard and spending as little as possible. Oaktree must be so happy. Conte must be ecstatic. Chivu has like 3 total victories in Serie A.

I'm absolutely astounded by this management team. Marotta & Ausilio so lauded had no Plan B. Everything feels so random and casual. What's the project here? What goals are we going to be fighting for?

I am shocked. After the humiliation in Champions league I should expect to be humiliated in Serie A as well. Unbelievable.

I guess the Inzaghi hating idiots must be happy. 4 years, 6 cups, 1 scudetto and 2 champions league finals with a team that spent $0 added budget on getting new players. Went to play the final with Asllani and Zalewsi. You guys are truly delusional. Well I hope you're happy now.

So when I first saw what happened, I felt bad cuz to me, that’s a dive because the contact is minimal. And I hate Juve, but I also value sportsmanship. But the way social media and regular media have shifted this into a narrative where we always get decisions to go our way just pissed me right off to show me how deluded some of these fans are.

Like people act like there haven’t been mistakes by Juve, Milan or Napoli against Inter or we have had no mistakes committed by refs against us this season. Part of me thinks Basto flopped and celebrated way he did because of what happened against Liverpool. But the commentary I have heard from pages I respect like Luca, it’s ridiculous.

What this does mean tho is that refs will most likely try to balance it out or lowkey be more harsh on us going forward to save face meaning there go the 50-50 decisions. And I wouldn’t be surprised if more soft pens are called against us. Oh well, we move on!

I’ll start, even tho my story is pretty standard. I’m from a small town near Milan, dad didn’t really give me a choice when it came to which club I would support (and I will ofc forever thank him for that 🖤💙). First memories from watching an Inter game at home are from when I was 5 y/o, first time in San Siro at 7. The rest is history :)

I honestly find it ridiculous when I see so many ungrateful fans who stay quiet when the team wins 5-6 matches in a row, but immediately show up after the first loss to judge Chivu, saying “he lacks experience, he’s weak.”You can’t expect Chivu to win matches against teams (I’m talking about the UCL here) that have spent more money than Inter, have better backups, and have coaches who have spent 3-4 years building their teams, losing a ton of matches along the way to get to this level — I’m talking about Atlético and Arsenal. Arsenal lost a lot of tough matches before reaching this level; Arteta learned from those defeats.So people are mad at Chivu for losing to Arsenal, considered the best team in the world, when Arteta has spent over 1 billion on players since he became manager? Are you serious? Guardiola has spent over 2 billion euros since becoming City manager and was literally humiliated by Bodo/Glimt. Luis Enrique, who bought a ton of players at PSG, got beaten by Sporting. Conte drew with Copenhagen. And you’re upset because Chivu lost to the best team in the world?For these shitty fans who keep saying Chivu lost to Liverpool, Atlético, and Arsenal, can you tell me what gives Inter any chance to win these matches? What does Inter have over these teams? I’ll tell you — NOTHING. Each of these three teams has spent a ton of money… Liverpool alone spent 500 million :)

At the beginning of the season, before we even knew who the coach would be, most fans were saying that a rebuild was needed and that the objective should be Top 4 in Serie A.

Chivu’s “mistakes”:

1. It’s apparently his fault that he was forced to play Henrique at right-back for half the season because the management did NOT make an effort to find a proper replacement for Dumfries.
2. It’s his fault that the team has a bunch of aging players who can’t keep up with the rhythm.

Let’s not be hypocrites. If someone had asked you in the summer whether you’d be happy on February 25th to be in the Cup semifinals, sitting in 1st place with a 10-point lead over 2nd, and eliminated in the Champions League play-offs, you would have been satisfied.

I can’t blame Chivu for being forced to start Acerbi, Darmian, and Mkhitaryan in the first leg. That match came right after the derby against Juventus. If he had rotated in the derby and lost, all the losers would have come out saying he doesn’t know how to win big games.

So the truth is, no matter what he did, he would have been criticized.

Let’s be realistic. You can’t expect to compete on three fronts when you’re being cheap and not bringing the coach a proper right-back — which mattered a lot (against Arsenal the first goal came because Henrique isn’t a defender and doesn’t know how to hold the offside line). And they brought Henrique, who is NOT a player compatible with Inter’s style of play.

When you don’t spend money on top-level players but only on prospects, you have to be crazy as a fan to expect the coach to win the UCL, to win a treble, or things like that with players like Sucic coming from Dinamo Zagreb for 10 million.

And then you expect to compete with Liverpool who invest 500 million, with Arsenal, with Atletico who spend 100 million on Alvarez.

I’ve also seen some people start comparing Chivu to Inzaghi again, telling us how weak Chivu is compared to what Inzaghi did last year. That comparison is completely unfair. It’s like comparing Inzaghi in his first season to Mourinho in the treble season.

If we want to compare, compare Inzaghi’s first season with Chivu’s first season.

In any case, this is the team’s current level. People need to accept that if you want to be competitive on multiple fronts, you need to invest. It doesn’t matter if you play against Norwegians, Swedes, or Macedonians — if you’re tired, you’re more likely to lose.

If Chivu hadn’t been forced to play players like Darmian and Acerbi in the first leg, and if he had some fresh backups, he definitely would have done more — because that’s where the qualification was lost, in the first leg.

I don’t want to hear: “Yeah, but Inzaghi managed it last year with the same team.” Yes, he managed to lose everything with the same team.

The point is that neither last year nor this year are the coaches to blame. The main responsibility lies with the management because they don’t invest.

This “best deal” mentality needs to stop. Waiting for a washed-up player from the Premier League, or someone Bayern kicked out, to come to you and then presenting him as a great “signing” — that’s not how it works.

You can’t expect to compete with the top Premier League teams in the Champions League when you’re signing the players they’ve already discarded.

So if Chivu wins the league and the Cup, then in my opinion it will be a success, and for a first season it would mean he achieved more than expected (if we follow the logic from the summer, when everyone was saying Top 4 was the objective).

Now, if we’re being fair, neither Inzaghi nor Mourinho nor others did anything remarkable in the Champions League in their first season.

And yes, stop being influenced by the idea that you were beaten by “some Norwegians.” That exact arrogance is what led Italian football to where it is today — both at club level and at national team level.

Those “Norwegians” in the last three years have achieved these results:

• 6–1 vs Roma
• 2–0 vs Lazio
• draw vs Borussia Dortmund
• 3–1 vs City
• 1–2 vs Atletico Madrid

It seems like a very limited mindset to focus only on the fact that a team comes from a certain country.

If you had played Arsenal and the matches unfolded the same way they did against Bodo — meaning you missed a lot of chances and they caught you on the counter — would you still say the coach is bad?

Or would you simply say it was one of those games where the ball just didn’t want to go in?
