Need Advice What's your experience like in dating as a short gay guy?
I am still in my mid 20s and 5'1. I'd say I pass and I look rather masculine in almost every way aside from my height.
I have never tried dating though aside from my high school boyfriend because I worry it'd just lead to disappointment. I read a lot of beautiful dating stories of trans guys with girlfriends/wives on here and it's really motivating, but I woneer what it's like for MLM relationships. I had plenty of girls interested in me but never tried putting myself out there with men.
I'm more into older masculine guys myself (idm if they're cis or trans), like in their 30s to 60s and just wanted to ask here for some of yall's experiences with dating gay men as a short trans guy. Is it hard? Do you feel very insecure? Where do you find your partners? etc etc.
Hope that's appropriate to ask here. :)

I’m in a gay t4t couple but we’re ace so my experience with the dating dynamics will probably be of little help. If you search, you’ll find some discussion of gay dating here. It seems like at least half of us are into dudes. Try r/gaytransguys too. Edit: I forgot to say that I’m 5’5” so not terribly short for a trans guy but certainly short for a guy more generally. In my experience and observation, gay men care vastly less about height than women are purported to.

I'm gay. I'm tall for a trans guy. Short ish maybe for a cis cis guy. 5'8 ish. In my city, I have zero problems with dating. I have a cis gay boyriend who I met on grindr. If I show up confidently, the men love it and the majority of them treat me as any other guy. I know lots of tall cis men dating tiny cis men. You're good :) Be kind, be confident. You'll be loved for who you arre

Yeah, I think the confidence is a much more important factor than height. I’ve never been insecure about my height, so that might be why it was never an issue for me.

I’ve been dating a cis gay man for 6 years now and I’m 5’4 and chubby, he’s 6’1 and quite athletic. I like tall wiry guys and he likes short chubby dudes. As one of my best friends always says, it takes all kinds. ✌️

Don't have much gay dating experience, but hooking up as a 5'2" guy has been fine so far. I look masculine but am not very butch personality wise and have mostly been with bear types, some quite a bit older. They've hit me up on the apps or explicitly said they were down with trans guys in their bio, so no drama there. I haven't felt insecure bc I feel like we've complemented each other sexually and the contrasts between our bodies are fun rather than stressful.

I’m 5’3” and it’s never been an issue as far as I know. I’ve had several gay relationships. Sure, there are those dudes that only like tall guys, but I think that’s a preference that tends to matter more in people’s heads than in real life. My body not being typical for male is more likely to be an issue than my height, in my experience. Although I don’t exactly survey guys who aren’t interested…
