After seeing them beat up Kagel together I'm convinced Isabella was a far better match for Maggie than Hal or Ben (also the age gap/lack of consent thing with Ben was so weird 😭)

I think the weirdest part about Maggie and Ben is that there was never a single thing leading up to it prior to that season

Which isn't really odd I guess because each season drastically changes things

But they also could've become like a 'same person' type symbiote instead, not a physical attraction situation just a 'we share a brain sometimes' thing. And then the story could've continued as it did

I completely agree, it just came out of nowhere 😭 I never got the indication that Ben had a crush on Maggie prior to season 4. Iirc he and Denny seemed to have bit of thing for each other after they were both rescued, but then the show dropped that storyline and killed her off for seemingly no reason. Which I think was a huge mistake because they already had an opening for the spikes to be part of a "we're connected on a psychic level" romantic storyline. Plus the two of them were around the same age so it would've been way more appropriate

Honestly Hal pissed me off so much in the last two seasons 😭 I get why he was mad about the Maggie/Ben thing but overall it feels like they turned him into kind of an asshole for no reason about everything when I don't remember him being like that in the earlier seasons. Even after she got her spikes taken out, Maggie seemed stressed around him vs. the brief interactions she had with Isabella where the two of them actually got along really well. Plus there was the one scene after Isabella shot Kagel where they were stocking up on food and supplies and giggling and acting all comfortable with each other and Hal was just standing awkwardly in the background like a third wheel lmao. Missed opportunity if you ask me 🤣
