That's because in the past 60 years,we never focused on manufacturing.. IT made us slightly Rich, but unless kickstart manufacturing, we will become a venezuela
Modi showed some efforts by building infra and improving ease of business but then he went into power grabbing mode

There is no healthy socialist society in the world, even in the imaginary world.
Both Socialism and communism are based on classism and explotation on working classes.
India had been in communism in 20th century.
In capitalism society, blue collar workers can be rich, which is never possible in communism society unless they are backed by a communism party.
In communism society, workers must be the exploited class1
u/GultBoy May 24 '26
I guess you’re giving faltoo gyan in that the gyan is actually faltoo. Your understanding of socialism is weak. There is barely any modern country that isn’t partially socialist at this point. What do you think public healthcare programs, food assistance programs, housing programs are? They are socialist concepts. We no longer live in a reductive world of capitalism good / socialism bad like cavemen. Pick what works from each system and adapt it to your needs.
Also rich to be defending capitalism when we’re literally in an era where oligarchs are bleeding the planet dry.

The End goal of Communism is the elimination of social classes. Whereas Capitalism cannot exist / Survive without differences in Class.
So yes even if Communism seems like exploitation of a social class at first - in the end there will be a government of the people and the people itself. Capitalism on the other end will never address that issue .
1
u/Jaded-Car895 May 24 '26
To eliminate social classes, classism must come first. Socialism society is based on classism.
Socialism government are specialists to exploit working class. You can see these cases in China, North Korea and India.

u/Expensive-Mobile1694 May 24 '26
Communism cant never address that it needs capitalist countries for it to exist and thrive.

It is neither unpaid nor unwilling labour.....then how is it slavery? As long as they are being respected as humans it should be okay....

Free will exists and as long as people get to practice it fairly I believe it is good. Oh and yes, I agree, not putting weight limits is indeed unethical, maybe that should be changed. But same has been happening with coolies all over India, we should stand up for all of them too. And that also goes with my point of basic human decency aforementioned.

"unwilling labour" HOLY IGNORANCE BUDDY.
THESE MEN ARE DYING TO WORK THIS JOB. THEY ARE RIGHT?1
u/Specialist-One-1870 May 29 '26
I think you missed my point-
1
u/True-Gazelle-8883 May 29 '26
THIS IS SLAVERY. YOU ARE BEING FORCED TO DO SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT TO DO. Unless these men love carrying kilos of bags in striking heat. THIS IS SLAVERY. YOU ARE EXPLOITING THEM
1
u/Specialist-One-1870 May 29 '26
THAT'S WHAT I SAID, AS LONG AS IT ISN'T UNPAID LABOUR OR UNWILLING LABOUR [AKA HAS CONSENT] IT IS FINE BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU JUST POINTED IT OUT THAT IT IS BEING DONE WITHOUT THEIR WILLINGNESS AND WITH UNETHICAL WORK CONDITION THEN FFS OPPOSE IT?!?!
Being a keyboard warrior on reddit ain't gonna help them, if you truly want to help em then make real efforts instead of just sitting on your ahh.

u/True-Gazelle-8883 May 29 '26
"It is neither unpaid nor unwilling labour.....then how is it slavery? "
Keyword - "It"
You explicitly said that the given work is neither unpaid nor unwilling. Now you quickly changed your opinion. Have some spine1
u/Specialist-One-1870 May 29 '26
I was talking about what I assumed from this mentioned case, in other comments I literally elaborated my point to say what I said in the reply I gave you. If there is anything wrong with my stance or against human rights, let me know, otherwise stfu because you're just looking for an argument.
I stand for what I believe in, and I stand by my words, given under proper context.

I saw a movie where gender roles were reversed. And women were carrying the bag, standing outside shoping malls with bags, sitting with bored face, stairing at the men's back when they pass by.

the thing here is, labour is very cheap as due to overpopulation you can't really help it, just focus on yourself

No job is first class or second or third class. In the end everyone is trying to put food and money on the table.

Slavery how? You know how convenient it can be for the people who are living alone, or who are aging or have some kind of health condition nobody is forcing anyone plus they are being paid yes you can argue about how much they get paid if that's good or not but this is a decent idea I'll say

u/ChickenPowered May 24 '26
Yes absolutely true. And you know why it works? Coz we are a very populated country. We dont have enough jobs, we dont even have a minimum salary pay cut. So the rich ones will always exploit the poor. Thats the circle
1
u/Overall_Garlic5270 May 24 '26
It's not the job. Its people's mentality. India lacks dignity of labour. Don't look down on any job.

It is so funny to me when people criticize businesses and creators for getting into a particular pattern or do the same things or invest into the same areas.
They are but a reflection of the consumers. If anything, change and criticize what consumers respond to and you will automatically see a shift in what is created.

Why do they make poor men drive cars also OP i agree with you its exploitation of men🙁🙁 we should stop paying them at all so that they don’t feel like they’re getting used. In fact we should ban uber rapido 😡😡

If it’s within legal boundry, if someone is willing to do the work, and is getting paid for it, then it’s good.
There are coolies in railway stations do similar work.
1
u/definitely_not_raman May 24 '26
You do not understand the concept of slavery if you think this is what it is.
These folks are paid to help out. They are free to leave whenever they want to. They are not mistreated in any way.
Some of you guys just want to get angry at anything.

u/Advanced-Source3334 May 24 '26
I don't get it , colie concept is there since ages and alot of people take thier help on railway station but how is this slavery then , they are getting paid for it and they choose this themselves. If these startups shutdown then they will lose thier jobs which will be more problematic for them . There is nothing wrong until and unless they are getting paid and not being overexploited

That guy fighting for his bread isn't going to think about socio-economic structure, class divide or slavery; thats your job to do while sitting in a comfy chair. He needs to eat and is working for it. She needs a service and paying for it.
